In video clips shared on social media, the singer is seen inside a large metal sphere designed to lift her above the audience. As the sphere began to rise, it tilted to one side, forcing Perry to grab onto the frame to keep her balance.

Perry's prop malfunction occurred just one day after Beyoncé experienced an onstage mishap of her own, when her flying car began to tip over mid-air during her June 29 performance in Houston.
Perry is currently on her 'Lifetimes' Tour, supporting her seventh studio album, '143,' which was released in September 2024. The tour kicked off in Mexico City in April and is scheduled to conclude at Etihad Park in Abu Dhabi on Dec. 7.
The North American leg will include several U.S. cities, beginning in Houston, Texas, on May 7 at the Toyota Center. For the first time since 2018, Perry will also headline shows at major venues like the Kia Forum in L.A. (July 15) and Madison Square Garden in New York City (Aug. 11).
In an interview with Variety earlier this year, Perry shared what audiences can expect during her 'Lifetimes' Tour.
'I'm definitely pushing the boundaries with these concerts,' she said. 'I'm always pushing my team to develop something that's not to help me develop something that's never been seen or heard.'
'I also feel the responsibility to give my audience the songs that they know,' Perry added. 'I'm there to let them tap into the nostalgia… I really just want to reconnect. I want to lock eyes with my fans. It's been a minute, and I feel very full up on love. I'm overflowing with it.'
Variety has reached out to Perry's reps for comment on the onstage incident.

The Real Reason Eva Longoria Didn't Attend BFF Lauren Sanchez's Wedding to Jeff Bezos After Accusing Their Other Guest's Family of ‘Spewing Hate'
There was a notable absence at Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos' wedding. One of the former journalist's closest friends, Eva Longoria, didn't attend the 'wedding of the century,' and the decision raised a lot of eyebrows. Sánchez and Longoria's friendship goes back a while, but several sites like People and Page Six reported that the Desperate Housewives star was seen on a beach in Spain during the nuptials. There seems to be no bad blood between the besties, with Longoria's excuse to missing out on the event being that she's in the middle of filming her CNN series Eva Longoria: Searching for France. The actress' husband, José Bastón, also recently underwent shoulder surgery and was sporting a sling in paparazzi photos. More from StyleCaster Here's if Lauren Sanchez's Ex-Husband 'Knew' of Her Alleged Affair With Jeff Bezos & What He Thinks of the Amazon Founder Now The Real Reason Trump Didn't Attend Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez's Wedding After the Amazon Founder's Complicated History With the President The actress did attend Sánchez's bachelorette party in Paris, France, in May 2025, alongside A-list friends like Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian. 'I had to pop in and out, so I wasn't there as long,' Longoria told People of the party at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. 'But yeah, it's so nice to celebrate love. It's just the best feeling in the world to be there and go, 'Yay, love.''Perry also did not attend the nuptials due to her busy touring schedule in Australia. Notable wedding guests include Perry's ex Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, and husband Jared Kushner. Longoria, who now primarily lives in Spain and Mexico, criticized the Trump administration when the Donald Trump was elected into office. 'I'm privileged,' the actress told Marie Claire, 'I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.' Longoria has been a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election. 'The shocking part is not that he won,' she told the outlet. 'It's that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.' The Amazon founder and the former Fox Sports anchor attended Trump's inauguration in January 2025. In 2024, Bezos and Sánchez awarded Eva Longoria with the Bezos Courage and Civility Award. 'She has a relentless commitment to making a significant impact through her foundation and her advocacy,' the helicopter entrepreneur told Elle. The two have also bonded about their Mexican-American heritage. 'She's talking about getting the vote out right now; she's supporting civic engagement with Latinos. She does these things called listening tours where she hears from Latinas directly about what the issues are that we really care about. I think her point is, as she says, 'We're tired of the candidates and parties telling us what we care about,' so she's out there hearing directly from the Latinas about the issues that matter to them.' The actress received a $50 million grant to distribute to her favorite charities, including her own, the Eva Longoria Foundation. 'Whether it's economic status, poverty, food insecurity, the environment, there are so many issues we're facing in the world,' Longoria told Elle. 'I love the concept of this award, which is supporting people who are doing great things.' Teary-eyed Katy Perry thanks fans as she closes out Australian show
Katy Perry is emotionally marking the end of a tour era. On June 30, the popstar wrapped a four-show stint in Adelaide, Australia, which capped nearly four weeks of performing in the island country. "Thank you for always being there for me, Australia; it means the world," a teary-eyed Perry told the crowd as her 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove's vocals on her "143" album-closing track "Wonder" rang out in the arena. She shook off the emotion and said, "Now let's sing 'Firework!'" The 40-year-old is almost a third of the way through her 2025 Lifetimes World Tour, which launched in late April and heads back to North America in mid-July to weave around the West Coast and Canada. Katy Perry's essentials: Shows fueled by espresso, a 'California crunchy' diet, meditating Perry's tour schedule overlapped with the highly anticipated – and controversially luxe – wedding between Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sánchez. Over the weekend, Perry's fiancée, Orlando Bloom, flew solo as he attended various pre-wedding festivities. Bloom was just one of the A-listers in a star-studded list of guests that included Sydney Sweeney, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, and Tom Brady. She and Bloom started dating in 2016, briefly split in 2017 and got engaged in February 2019. Daisy Dove Bloom was born in August 2020. Orlando Bloom posts about new beginnings, taking 'that first step' After the lavish wedding weekend, Bloom posted some inspirational quotes on his Instagram Story on June 30. In the first slide, he re-posted a translated quote from the Buddha that read, "Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most." In a following post, Bloom typed up a "daily encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda," a prominent Japanese religious figure and Buddhist, who died at age 95 in 2023, whom Bloom has long admired. "The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next," Bloom wrote in his Story.

Katy Perry Gets A Shoutout From Venice As Orlando Bloom Flies Solo In Wedding Of The Year
Katy Perry's absence at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's Venice wedding leaves a vacuum! The singer received an assuring word of affirmation from the bride of the year as she skipped the lavish wedding amid split rumors from her fiancé, Orlando Bloom. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom spark breakup rumors as sources close to the couple reveal that her career challenges have caused a strain in their nine-year relationship. The pop star popped up on her social media with shots and excerpts from the Australian leg of her "Lifetimes" tour. She shared a series of sweet selfies with a furry friend, a Quokka, at a park and headed out to the beach for a spin by the seabed. Perry looked relaxed in a sporty outfit as she shared another clip of herself riding a bike on the street and having fun playing cards with her friends. The content dump gained over 200k likes with thousands of shares. In the limited comment section, Sanchez was found lurking with the warmest comment, declaring, "We miss you, Katy." Perry also ventured out on the ocean with her friends, which she added to her photo dump. The singer did not forget to inform her fans about her current mood in the caption, as she wrote, "mood: Quokka." The actor does not seem fazed by Perry's absence at the wedding; if anything, he is having the most fun. From his encounter with a mysterious woman to sharing a flirty kiss with Kim Kardashian, he is not refuting the fun guy allegations. According to The Blast, Bloom looked ripped in a black tank top as he exited a water taxi ferrying the guests to the wedding island. He then exchanged pleasantries with the SKIMS founder. The pair shared a warm kiss on both cheeks and held each other in a close embrace, sparking a frenzy among the public as the pictures were shared online. Bloom and Kardashian have shared a somewhat controversial history, including a viral moment at New York Fashion Week last year when the actor was caught glancing at Kardashian's derriere. At the time, Perry expressed that she had no problem with the interaction and laughed it off. Perhaps she will pay more attention to it now that she and Bloom are reportedly exes. It looks like the couple's split was inevitable, at least judging by the sequence of events in their love story. The couple took a brief break in 2018, two years after they started their relationship. They then reconciled that same year, with Bloom getting down on one knee in 2019, thus setting high expectations for the couple regarding their future. Their wedding plans soon encountered some loopholes when the pandemic hit. The lockdown following the COVID-19 outbreak reportedly slowed down the wedding planning, literally keeping it in the back seat. According to a source: "When they got engaged, she was expecting, so everything came fast, and she was looking forward to heading down the aisle pregnant. There just wasn't any time to put a wedding together." The source affirmed that for the couple, it was more certain they were heading for the rocks than for the altar. Perry is reportedly experiencing a range of emotions about their breakup. A close source revealed that the split is still very much amicable, but no one knows if things will become bitter as time passes. While the singer is upset to see a nearly decade-long love story go to waste, she is still relieved that things did not end in divorce, especially after what she went through with Russell Brand. The split had reportedly been in the works for a long time, judging by the extended moments of tension between the couple. She is, however, channeling the hurt and disappointment from the split into giving her fans the best performance at the rest of the shows lined up for her "Lifetimes" tour. In addition to the influence of the pandemic and Perry's currently underwhelming career on their relationship, the singer's space voyage also altered the tone of her romance with Bloom. As noted by The Blast, the "The Lord of the Rings" actor did not give his blessings to the actor going for the all-female space mission, but Perry went anyway. He reportedly voiced his opinion on the idea, stressing that it was unnecessary, and was eventually disappointed by her decision. Bloom was fully aware that his partner would face criticism from the public for going on that trip, which was why he was trying to protect her from doing so. "He always thought it was a stupid idea, and she wouldn't get anything positive out of it," the source revealed. The pair is parents to a daughter, Dove Daisy Bloom, whom they welcomed in August 2020. When will Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom open up about their split?
