The Real Reason Eva Longoria Didn't Attend BFF Lauren Sanchez's Wedding to Jeff Bezos After Accusing Their Other Guest's Family of ‘Spewing Hate'
Sánchez and Longoria's friendship goes back a while, but several sites like People and Page Six reported that the Desperate Housewives star was seen on a beach in Spain during the nuptials. There seems to be no bad blood between the besties, with Longoria's excuse to missing out on the event being that she's in the middle of filming her CNN series Eva Longoria: Searching for France. The actress' husband, José Bastón, also recently underwent shoulder surgery and was sporting a sling in paparazzi photos.

The Real Reason Trump Didn't Attend Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez's Wedding After the Amazon Founder's Complicated History With the President
The actress did attend Sánchez's bachelorette party in Paris, France, in May 2025, alongside A-list friends like Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian. 'I had to pop in and out, so I wasn't there as long,' Longoria told People of the party at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. 'But yeah, it's so nice to celebrate love. It's just the best feeling in the world to be there and go, 'Yay, love.''Perry also did not attend the nuptials due to her busy touring schedule in Australia. Notable wedding guests include Perry's ex Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump, and husband Jared Kushner.
Longoria, who now primarily lives in Spain and Mexico, criticized the Trump administration when the Donald Trump was elected into office. 'I'm privileged,' the actress told Marie Claire, 'I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.'
Longoria has been a longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election. 'The shocking part is not that he won,' she told the outlet. 'It's that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.' The Amazon founder and the former Fox Sports anchor attended Trump's inauguration in January 2025.
In 2024, Bezos and Sánchez awarded Eva Longoria with the Bezos Courage and Civility Award. 'She has a relentless commitment to making a significant impact through her foundation and her advocacy,' the helicopter entrepreneur told Elle. The two have also bonded about their Mexican-American heritage. 'She's talking about getting the vote out right now; she's supporting civic engagement with Latinos. She does these things called listening tours where she hears from Latinas directly about what the issues are that we really care about. I think her point is, as she says, 'We're tired of the candidates and parties telling us what we care about,' so she's out there hearing directly from the Latinas about the issues that matter to them.'
The actress received a $50 million grant to distribute to her favorite charities, including her own, the Eva Longoria Foundation. 'Whether it's economic status, poverty, food insecurity, the environment, there are so many issues we're facing in the world,' Longoria told Elle. 'I love the concept of this award, which is supporting people who are doing great things.'

Three former Ubisoft executives are convicted of sexual and psychological harassment
A court in France has sentenced three former Ubisoft executives for sexual and psychological harassment. Serge Hascoet, Tommy Francois, and Guillaume Patrux each received fines and suspended prison sentences for their actions that were discovered as a part of a years-long investigation into sexual harassment and bullying at the game publisher. According to The Guardian, Hascoet, Ubisoft's former chief creative officer, allegedly commented that a female employee's mood could be improved if someone were to have sex with her in order to, 'show how to calm her.' Francois, Ubisoft's former editorial vice president, was additionally convicted of attempted sexual assault as well as sexual harassment related to an alleged incident where he tried to forcefully kiss a female employee at a party while colleagues held her down. Patrux, a former game director, was alleged to have thrown furniture in open-plan office space, throwing other objects at employees, and drawing swastikas on a colleague's notebook. Investigations into Ubisoft began in 2020 as a part of the #metoo movement in video games. Current and former employees took to social media in June 2020 to describe harmful incidents and attitudes at the Far Cry and Assassin's Creed developer that spanned decades. An internal survey conducted at that time reported that out of 14,000 employees surveyed, 25 percent had seen or experienced workplace misconduct, while 20 percent said they did not feel safe or respected at the company. In the aftermath, several Ubisoft executives, including Hascoet, resigned while others, including Francois, were fired. In 2023, five former employees, including Hascoet and Francois, were arrested by French police following an investigation into the company. According to French newspaper Le Monde, Francois blamed company culture at Ubisoft for his behavior, saying he was a part of a culture that was 'everywhere, in every department' and that he didn't think it was 'abnormal.' Bride Feels ‘Like a Third Wheel' Because Groom's Female Best Friend Is Controlling Wedding Planning
A bride-to-be claims her fiancé and his decade-long female best friend are planning the wedding, while she watches from the sidelines The woman admits the female friend has been around longer than she has The woman claims her fiancé even consulted his female friend about her thoughts on the future bride's wedding dress inspiration photosA bride says she's watching her fiancé's female best friend plan their wedding from the 'sidelines.' The bride-to-be admits she's lost control of planning her big day since her fiancé's best friend of over a decade has benched her. The best friend has helped the woman's fiancé pick out the wedding's color scheme, the signature drinks for the occasion and she's even gotten her hands on the event's Pinterest board, the woman claims. All without including her. 'I never thought I'd feel like a third wheel at my own wedding… but here we are,' the bride-to-be confesses on the Reddit forum page titled 'wedding drama." Since the couple got engaged, the best friend has assumed the position of wedding planner with the woman's fiancé planning everything, 'and I'm just watching from the sidelines,' the bride writes. The bride admits her fiancé's best friend has been around longer than she has, but that her actions still feel invasive. 'It feels like the two of them are throwing this wedding while I just sign off on their choices,' the woman says. The bride says she's beginning to get the impression that her fiancé would be more comfortable planning a wedding with his best friend than with his bride. All the while he's making comments that his best friend 'has great taste' and that she's 'just trying to help,' the woman says. If planning the event's color scheme and mood board wasn't enough, the fiancé consulted his best friend on the bride's selection of wedding dress inspiration photos — without telling her. 'Like this isn't our day anymore. Like I'm being sidelined in something that's supposed to be one of the most meaningful moments of my life,' the woman writes. When she's tried discussing the situation with her fiancé, she claims that he does not see the issue at hand and instead thinks she's overreacting to the situation. The bride admits that she's scared to push the issue further since it might result in a fight or her looking insecure. 'But staying quiet is eating at me,' she says. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Asking the forum page users for advice, the bride admits that she doesn't 'want drama, I just want to feel like I matter in my own wedding.' 'My mother told me how a potential employer treats you before you are hired is the best they will ever treat you,' wrote one user in the comments section. 'Your heart is already telling you something is wrong. If you can't have a conversation about this, you aren't ready for marriage. You are being sidelined in your own relationship now. It won't get better unless you can work this out now.' This came with a big self-realization for the bride as she admitted she's felt this now for a while, and the user's comment confirmed her feelings. 'That's exactly how it feels, and reading it written out by someone else makes it impossible to ignore,' the woman wrote back. 'I keep making excuses for him, hoping it'll change once the stress of planning is over, but deep down I know this isn't just about the wedding.' The bride admitted that while her fiancé allowed her to be pushed aside easily, he also seemed totally okay with it. 'Oh, for goodness' sake. Who is he marrying?' asked another forum user. 'You need to stand up for yourself.' They continued to tell the woman it's time for her to sit her future husband down and ask why his best friend's opinion is more important than his future wife's. Another user said that with the answers to those questions, she'll get her answer on how she's going to feel in their marriage. 'This isn't about her. It's about him,' the user wrote before continuing. 'I'm appalled and offended on your behalf that he's showing her YOUR wedding dress options.' Read the original article on People
