Andy Reid hypes ‘svelte' Travis Kelce after transformative offseason: ‘He looks 20'
The Chiefs' All-Pro tight end received high praise Thursday from head coach Andy Reid, who told reporters the 35-year-old Kelce is in great shape and looks half his age at training camp
'He's svelte right now,' Reid said during his media availability. 'He looks like he's 20. He's doing a good job. He's in great shape.
'And I'm not sure he didn't come in first during the whole conditioning thing, he was right up front. You can see he's been working out. You saw him yesterday on the long run where he had the burst. He's done a nice job. He's worked hard to get to this spot.'
Kelce, who is entering his 13th NFL season and quite possibly his last, previously said he lost some weight in the offseason.

'Each year is different man, you gotta rebuild it,' Kelce told reporters last month. 'This year, I got some time to really focus on some things in the offseason that I just didn't have time for last year. I'm certainly feeling good and I think it will pay off man.'
When asked about rumors that he lost 25 pounds, Kelce said, 'Don't believe everything you read on the internet, guys.'
Kelce, who will turn 36 in October, posted a career-low 823 yards and 97 receptions in 2024.

The future Hall of Famer still finds ways to be productive in the Chiefs' offense, but he's at the end of his career and not as quick as he once was.
'You hope he plays forever, but that's probably not gonna happen to any of us,' Reid said. 'So whenever he decides to hang it up, he's built a great legacy here. And if he decides this is it, it's it. If not, more power to him.'

Kelce trained in Florida this offseason after confirming his NFL return in the wake of the Chiefs' Super Bowl defeat to the Eagles in February.
The 10-time Pro Bowler was a non-factor in the 40-22 blowout loss with four catches for 39 yards.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champ, has 1,004 career receptions for 12,151 yards and 77 touchdowns.
The Chiefs open the 2025 campaign against the Chargers on Sept. 5 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Seahawks reportedly extend GM John Schneider through 2030
80 / 110he Seattle Seahawks have given general manager John Schneider a four-year extension, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported on Wednesday. The franchise is securing its GM and president of football operations through 2030. Schneider is expected to sign on the dotted line and remain in the position he has held since 2010. After starting his GM tenure with the team, Schneider added the role of executive vice president in 2013 and, eventually, the title of president of football operations in 2024. The extension comes two years before Schneider's current deal ends in 2027. Adding three years to his tenure gives Schneider the chance to serve as the Seahawks' GM for 20 years. Schneider arrived in Seattle in January of 2010 after Pete Carroll was hired as the coach and executive vice president of football operations. He had previously worked with the team as the director of player personnel in 2000. His first tenure in Seattle succeeded three years as a scout for the Green Bay Packers and three years as the Director of Pro Personnel with the Kansas City Chiefs. He then served in personnel-related roles with the Washington Redskins and Packers before returning to Seattle. Schneider and Carroll helped the Seahawks win the Super Bowl in February 2014 when Seattle defeated the Denver Broncos, 43-8, in New Jersey. According to the Seattle Times, the extension was a result of a strong vote of confidence for Schneider to help keep stability atop the Seahawks organization. The search for stability follows massive changes in recent years, including the trading of stars Russell Wilson, Geno Smith and DK Metcalf. The Seahawks also moved on from Carroll after the 2023 season and replaced him with Mike Macdonald. The Seahawks have not made the playoffs since their wildcard appearance in 2022. Last season, they finished second in the NFC West with a 10-7 record. Seattle's notable offseason moves include signing quarterback Sam Darnold, wide receiver Cooper Kupp and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. They also re-signed linebacker Ernest Jones IV and defensive tackle Jarran Reed.

Cowboys COO Stephen Jones on Trevon Diggs Drama: 'We're Paying a Price, Too'
Imagine losing $500,000 and not blinking an eye. That's what Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs did, as the franchise took away $500,000 from his contract earlier this month for rehabbing his knee injury away from team facilities. Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones doesn't see an issue with the team's stance. "I think a player is much better off training with us than he is somewhere else. I just think the discipline to come in every day [and] do the work is there when they're here. Now, obviously, with the league rules, there are certain things that are mandatory and certain things that aren't. But one thing we can do, which we'll continue to do, is put in every player's contract, especially guys that we pay significant amounts of money, we expect leadership, and we expect them to be here. Certainly, we addressed that with Diggs. He certainly paid a price for not being here. But, we're paying a price, too, because we felt like he might be further along had he done his rehab here," Jones said in an interview on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday. "He may differ with that, but had he done his rehab here, we feel strongly that he might be further along. That's in the best interest of the team and the organization and comes with getting a big contract, which he received." Last week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed that the team was justified in stripping Diggs of the future earnings, as it was "in his contract" to rehab at team headquarters. Diggs totaled two interceptions, 11 passes defended and 42 combined tackles in 11 games last season; he missed two games due to a groin injury and four games due to a knee injury, which will likely keep the defensive back off the field to begin the 2025 NFL season. Diggs ranked 55th among NFL cornerbacks with a 60.0 pass-rush grade, 121st with a 60.3 coverage grade, 145th with a 56.6 coverage grade and 206th with a 43.9 run-defense grade, according to Pro Football Focus. Diggs, a 2021 All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler, is entering the second season of a five-year, $97 million deal. In 2021, Diggs reeled in an NFL-high 11 interceptions, running back two of the picks for a touchdown. As for other money-related matters, the Cowboys are yet to gain traction on an extension with superstar defensive end and two-time All-Pro Micah Parsons, who's entering the final season of his rookie deal. Falcons offensive coordinator named future head coaching candidate
PFSN names Falcons OC Zac Robinson a future head coaching candidate In 2024, the Atlanta Falcons hired former Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator Zac Robinson as their new offensive coordinator. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris saw Robinson's potential while the two worked together in Los Angeles, and he made sure to bring the young assistant with him to Atlanta. After working with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford on the Rams, Robinson got the chance to coach both Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr. last season with the Falcons. The first-year offensive coordinator showed a ton of promise. Both wide receiver Drake London and running back Bijan Robinson had breakout seasons. If he has another successful year as Atlanta's play-caller in 2025, Robinson may find himself with a head coaching gig. Pro Football Sports Network analyst Jacob Infante named Robinson as one of 32 future head coaching candidates in a new feature. PFSN names Robinson future head coach candidate: Like Arizona, the Atlanta Falcons started incredibly hot but cooled off as the 2024 season continued. Part of that was due to Zac Robinson's performance as their offensive play-caller. Robinson, 38, comes from the highly regarded Sean McVay tree, having been the Rams' passing game coordinator in 2022 and 2023 before his promotion in Atlanta. He has a big opportunity to become a strong head coaching candidate if the Falcons' passing game performs well with Michael Penix Jr. now under center. -- Jacob Infante, PFSN While Cousins got off to a good start, his play fell off drastically after he suffered an injury during a Week 10 loss to the Saints. Penix eventually replaced the struggling veteran in Week 16 and played surprising well for a rookie. Atlanta's offense became more explosive the moment Penix entered the lineup, and Robinson deserves credit for having the young quarterback ready to play. Plus, unlike during the three previous seasons under head coach Arthur Smith, the offense did a good job of utilizing the team's personnel. The Falcons offense should be among the NFL's top units this season. Robinson's presence is a big reason for those expectations. With another good year under his belt, don't be surprised to see Robinson go the route of former Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in 2026.
