
National Finance Company joins hands with Dar Al Atta'a for Udhiyah coupons
The initiative aims to disperse gift coupons of Udhiya for the needy families in areas, including Muttrah, Al Amerat and Seeb.
The National Finance company continues with its corporate responsibility to boost the initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the individuals and to disseminate the spirit of solidarity and social coherence among the members of society.
Tariq bin Sulaiman Al Farsi, Chief Executive Officer of the National Finance, said that the company believes in the significance of contributions for decent life for all members of society through such initiatives.
He also reiterated the company's mission and message not just as a finance corporation but also as a social establishment supportive to society during each event.
With our support to the families during Eid Al Adha, we seek to further cement the culture of mercy, compassion and social responsibility as to make a positive impact on the community ties and to further cement the culture of the company, he added.
Himmah Volunteer Team of the company has always been a motivating factor for change, he said, adding that the team works on motivating the employees and all stakeholders to achieve sustainable results with impact on society.
In 2024, the team expanded its activities to include a number of community initiatives such as social care, education and environment preservation, he added.
The recent cooperation with Dar Al Atta'a represents a solid partnership established on common values and vision for responsible citizenship.

College of Nursing takes part in WIDE Programme at Parma University
Muscat: As part of the strategic partnership between Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and the University of Parma in Italy, five students from the College of Nursing, accompanied by Dr. Maryam bint Mohammed Al-Harrasi, Associate Professor, participated in the WIDE programme 'Digitally Enabled Nursing Students for an Inclusive, Compassionate, and Nursing Care Provision'. The initiative was fully funded by the University of Parma, reflecting a strong commitment to fostering academic and cultural exchange between the two institutions. The programme commenced with virtual preparatory sessions, followed by a week of on-campus activities at SQU in Muscat, which focused on digital health principles and holistic approaches to nursing. The second and concluding week took place at the University of Parma, where students engaged in an intensive schedule of educational experiences. These included symposiums exploring the integration of digital technologies into clinical nursing practice, small-group tasks under the supervision of international academic specialists, and high-fidelity clinical simulations designed to enhance clinical decision-making skills. The students also participated in interactive presentations and role-playing sessions with their peers from the University of Parma, which encouraged the exchange of professional insights and cultural perspectives. The programme highlighted the crucial role of digital innovation in improving the quality of life for patients and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare systems. It also emphasised the ethical and professional aspects of holistic, compassionate nursing care. Moreover, it provided participating students with a valuable platform to deepen their understanding of cultural diversity and to establish networks for future research collaboration. Commenting on the experience, Dr Maryam Al-Harrasi stated: 'WIDE is a unique educational experience that combined technical knowledge with empathy, and enhanced the readiness of students to lead the digital transformation in the nursing sector.' Awareness workshops target students to implement continuous healthy lifestyles
Muscat: Within the Wali of Mutrah Office's interest in promoting health prevention and positive behaviours in young people, the Health Committee in the Wali Office, in cooperation with several health and community entities, conducted the Mutrah Summer Health Forum from 13 to 17 July 2025 at Majan University College, targeting schools' students in Muscat Governorate. This forum is part of the 'Together in Mutrah for a Continuous Partnership' initiative, stressing the integration between institutions and entities concerned with health and development, and achieving the principle of community partnership to develop a healthy and aware society. This forum includes a series of training workshops and awareness lectures over five days, involving health institutions, community organisations and volunteer teams to inspire students to follow healthy lifestyles and promote early prevention. On the first day, a team from Khoula Hospital and the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority conducted a first aid workshop, where students were trained on rapid response methods and dealing with injuries and emergencies. This forum will continue on the second and third days with awareness seminars on chronic and genetic diseases, oral and dental health, food safety and nutrition, with the participation of specialists from Al Nahdha Hospital and Al Mina Health Centre. As well as, implementing a discussion on child protection in collaboration with the Oman Women's Association in Mutrah, and a lecture on the importance of pre-marriage screening in collaboration with Al Nahdha Hospital, to promote early screening and family planning. The forum delivered skill workshops for first cycle students to develop their health and behavioural skills. On the fourth day, participants will visit the Hospitality Institute in Mutrah, consisting of a lecture on healthy nutrition and a 'Little Chef' event. As well as, an educational workshop on smoking and its harmful effects, to raise awareness regarding the significance of stopping harmful habits. The forum will conclude on its fifth day through a lecture on psychological first aid, an Oman Colours Workshop, and honouring participants and supporters to appreciate their contributions to be the successful forum. The forum offered health corners provided by numerous contributing entities. They consist of tests for chronic diseases, psychological and behavioural consultations. Besides a corner on elderly care and children's rights, to promote health culture among students and their families. Abdul Hamid bin Abdulrahman Al Kharousi, Deputy Wali of Mutrah, confirmed the great significance of community partnership and constructive integration between various health, community and voluntary institutions as a cornerstone to achieving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life. He explained that implementing the Mutrah Summer Health Forum follows the 'Together in Mutrah for a Continuous Partnership' initiative. It aims to unite efforts, gathering specialists and those interested in health and development, to be a source of exchanging experiences and health awareness. Thus advancing a conscious, healthy and cohesive society. He indicated that this event expresses the vision of the Wali Office to promote positive values and behaviours in young people, founding prevention and early health education, to raise generations able to practice a healthy and balanced lifestyle that benefits the individual and society. The Deputy Wali of Mutrah praised the efforts of institutions, entities and individuals who contributed to this forum's success. He confirmed the achievements reflect the spirit of cooperation and cohesion and effective community partnership. Oman, Türkiye sign pact on cooperation in energy sector
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Türkiye on consolidating partnership, technical cooperation and investment in the energy sector. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. The memorandum of understanding covers areas of cooperation in the oil and gas sectors, trade in liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable energy, energy efficiency, alternative fuels, green hydrogen and carbon capture technologies. The memorandum of understanding also includes the exchange of expertise and technology, cooperation in developing joint projects and holding technical events in a manner that contributes to the realisation of the shared goals of sustainable development and transition to clean energy. In addition, the memorandum of understanding provides for cooperation in exchanging information and expertise, developing regulatory policies that enhance energy efficiency and exploring opportunities in financing and innovative technologies for the production, storage and transportation of green hydrogen. The memorandum of understanding affirms Oman's commitment to enhance international partnerships in the energy sector and expand areas of cooperation with friendly countries with the prime aim of achieving common interests and supporting national efforts to meet carbon neutrality goals and enhance the Sultanate of Oman's position as a regional energy hub.
