War 2 trailer review: Style, swag and jarring bikini moment in Hrithik-Jr NTR's film
Visually, 'War 2' looks stylish from the word go. But are we in for a film that's all style and little substance? The trailer hints at a tone that feels at odds with the dignity associated with India's armed forces. The glamour, while cinematic, risks undermining the depth expected from the genre. Reducing an Indian Air Force officer to an object of gaze in a shiny bikini feels both jarring and unnecessary. The spy genre is not just about action set pieces and larger-than-life appeal. It's also, and in fact, more importantly, meant to grip, thrill and reflect by offering stories that are as layered as they are entertaining. It's a genre that can pay tribute to the silent, mostly unglamorous, courage of intelligence and defence personnel. It can unfold on the screen to show you something you didn't know before, and at the same time, acts like a tribute to our armed forces. 'War 2', at least from its trailer, seems more invested in surface gloss than its emotional depth.
Of course, it's too early to say whether 'War 2' will ultimately deliver on its promise. Trailers, you see, are only glimpses. But, it's not too late to observe that the film risks becoming a spectacle rather than a story. It seems to be chasing adrenaline over authenticity, and choosing scale all the way over everything else. All the extra gloss might look great on screen, but it may not be what the story truly needs. Whether 'War 2' can balance its cinematic ambition with the weight of its genre is something we'll only know on August 14. The film is hitting the screens as the big Independence Day release this year, and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. It also features Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, Anil Kapoor, Shabir Ahluwalia in important roles.- EndsMust Watch

Sidharth Malhotra visits Mumbai's Siddhivinayak temple days after welcoming daughter with Kiara Advani. Watch
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani started a new chapter of their lives as they welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on July 16. Since then, the couple has maintained a low profile and even requested the paparazzi not to click their photos and to give them privacy. Days after the birth of his daughter, Sidharth was seen offering prayers at Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Temple. He was accompanied by his mother, Rimma Malhotra. The actor visited the temple to seek blessings for his newborn and their family. In the videos from the temple, the Student of the Year star is seen dressed casually in a blue kurta paired with black denims, with a saffron shawl draped around his neck. He offered prayers at the temple alongside his mother. A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) On July 16, Sidharth and Kiara had shared the news of welcoming their baby girl on social media. Their post read, 'Our hearts are full and our world forever changed. We are blessed with a baby girl,' the note read. A few days after announcing the arrival of his daughter, Sidharth also shared another note requesting the paparazzi to give him and his growing family privacy and to refrain from photographing their newborn. The note read, 'We're so grateful for all the love and wishes; our hearts are truly full. As we take our first steps into this new journey of parenthood, we hope to enjoy it intimately as a family. It would mean a lot to us if this special time could stay private. So, No Photos Please, Only Blessings! Thank you for your support.' Sidharth and Kiara are following the practice adopted by other star couples—Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, and Rani Mukerji-Aditya Chopra—by keeping their daughter away from the limelight. The couple had tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on February 7, 2023. On the work front, Kiara's next release is the highly anticipated War 2, co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Sidharth will next be seen opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Param Sundari.
