Motorcyclist dead after Stark County crash

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – A man has died after a crash in Jackson Township, Stark County, Saturday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:20 p.m. on Frank Avenue near Mega Street.

According to the release, a 2000 Indian Chief motorcycle being driven by 58-year-old Larry Jeffries Jr. was heading south on Frank Ave. in the center lane.
At the same time, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was being driven by 24-year-old Luca Stambaug, also heading south on Frank Ave.
According to the release, the Silverado tried to make a left-hand turn from the far right lane onto Mega Street. That is when, because of the 'improper turn,' the motorcycle was hit on the driver's side of the Silverado.
According to the release, Jeffries Jr. was taken to Mercy Hospital in Canton, where he was pronounced dead due to 'internal injuries sustained in the collision.'

According to the OSHP, Jefferies Jr. was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.

According to the recall alert, the KidKraft play kitchen, sold through popular retailers like Amazon and poses a risk of serious injury or death to young children who are climbing on the counter or crawling through the opening at the back of the play kitchens. The recall announcement states that Backyard Kids has agreed to provide free replacement hooks to all consumers with affected units as a part of the recall. 'Backyard Kids has voluntarily agreed to recall and provide free replacement hooks for all units, even though only about 400 of the 192,000 recalled units were sold to consumers by Backyard Kids. In addition, 12 were sold in Canada,' states the recall. The play kitchens were sold online at and from 2018 through July 2025 for between $120 and $270. Consumers are advised to stop using the play kitchens immediately, remove the original hooks, and contact Backyard Kids for free replacement hooks.

'The suspect, described as a bald White male, unlawfully entered the premises and stole two dealer registration plates along with several electric bicycles valued at several thousand dollars,' the statement said. Police also released surveillance images of the man, who's clad in a white tee shirt, gray shorts, and black sneakers as he prowls around the facility in search of items to pilfer. Once he got his haul, he bolted in a truck. 'The suspect arrived and fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck bearing a cursive 'LM' on the side,' the statement said. 'The vehicle appears to be a work truck and was equipped with a small shop vacuum and toolbox in the bed, possibly indicating affiliation with a property management company.' Advertisement Anyone with information about the man, who made no effort to conceal his face during the alleged break-in, should drop a dime to Boston's finest. 'Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact District D-14 Detectives at (617) 343-4256,' police said. Police are asking for the public's help identifying the man who allegedly stole electric bikes and registration plates from a car dealership in Boston last Saturday. Police responded to the dealership on Commonwealth Avenue in Allston around 2:22 a.m. on Saturday.
