Notices served to exhibition management of ‘Ram Mandir'
The exhibition, which opened a few months ago, has been drawing large crowds of devotees. The management has been collecting an entry ticket of ₹50 per person. Controversy arose after the organisers allegedly announced plans to conduct Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam at the end of this month, reportedly charging high ticket prices for the event. They also announced that priests from Bhadrachalam would be participating in the ritual.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (East Sub-Division) K. Lakshmana Murthy confirmed that the Bhadrachalam temple authorities had raised their objection in an email to the Endowments Department. Acting on this, the local endowments officials lodged a formal complaint with the police.
'We have served initial notices to the exhibition organisers. Further action will be taken after a thorough inquiry,' said ACP Lakshmana Murthy.

‘Ayodhya Ram Mandir' exhibition shut down after objections from Hindu organisations
Following a string of controversies surrounding it, the 'Ayodhya Ram Mandir', model featuring in a commercial exhibition on the Beach Road has been shut down in the city on Saturday (July 26). The scheduled event of 'Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam' on July 29 was also reportedly called off after serious objections from the members of the Sadhu Parishad and Hindu organisations. It may be remembered that the controversy began when the exhibition organisers reportedly announced plans to conduct 'Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam' on July 29, charging around ₹3,000 a ticket for a couple. They also allegedly claimed that priests from Bhadrachalam would be participating in the event. In response to their advertisement, the Bhadrachalam Devasthanam responded to the unauthorised use of their name and stated that they are not attending any such event. A formal complaint was submitted to the Endowments Department, which in turn approached the local police. Subsequently, the III Town Police served notices on the organisers. A few days ago, Andhra Pradesh Sadhu Parishad members inspected the model and raised serious objections about the commercialisation of the temple. They strongly objected at collection of ₹50 entry fees and additional charges for prasadams, stalls and sponsorships. They also condemned the plan to conduct a paid 'Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam' and also warned to stage a protest if the management organises the Kalyanam, charging money.

‘Charging' devotees for rituals at replica of Ayodhya temple in Visakhapatnam opposed
Several Hindu organisations raised objections to the alleged collection of charges for participation in the Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam scheduled for July 29 at the replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir set up at a commercial exhibition near The Park Hotel Junction on the Beach Road. The Sree Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam in Bhadrachalam of Telangana also alleged misuse of their name for the event. On Wednesday (July 23, 2025), Sri Srinivasananda Swamy of Andhra Pradesh Sadhu Parishad, after visiting the replica, appreciated the efforts of the organisers in recreating the Ayodhya Ram Mandir in the city. However, he opposed what he called the 'commercialisation of the event' by collecting entry fees and charges for prasadams, stalls, and sponsorships. 'Religion should not be turned into a business. This is unacceptable. We demand that the Kalyanam be open to all, allowing devotees to participate in the event free of cost. We will stage a protest of if our demand is not conceded,' he said. Controversy began after the exhibition organisers reportedly announced plans to conduct a Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam on July 29, charging around ₹3,000 per ticket. They reportedly claimed that priests from Bhadrachalam would be participating in the rituals. In response to the advertisement, the Bhadrachalam temple officials opposed what they called the 'unauthorised use of their name'. A formal complaint was submitted to the Endowments Department, which approached the police. Subsequently, the III Town Police issued notices to the organisers. The Hindu organisations demanded that the Sree Seetha Rama Kalyanam at the replica temple be organised without charging money from devotees.
