C.J. Stroud is looking for his best season yet, but he's also looking fresh in the new blue practice jerseys.
With over 1,000 fans in attendance, the Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback greeted those who waited out in the rain, debuting a new H-Town Blue practice jersey. Quarterbacks will wear the H-Town color for all practices in front of the public.
Here's a look at C.J. and new returner Braxton Berrios meeting with fans just before the start of practice.
Last season, Stroud took a step back from his record-setting season. It wasn't terrible, but it was far from his standard, doubling his interception total and only tossing 20 touchdown passes.
This offseason, Stroud focused on building himself up as a better team leader while focusing on his spiritual impact.
'I just want consistent wins," Stroud said Wednesday. "Not just like on the scoreboard or just on the field, of course that's very important, but just in life. So, just consistently winning.'
The Texans open the season at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 7.

If C.J. Stroud makes these throws on the regular, it'll be hard to slow him and the Houston Texans' offense down this fall. During Saturday's open practice to the fans, Stroud evaded a pair of defenders to connect with tight end Dalton Schultz for a first-down gain. The no-look pass is what will bring people to social media, but credit to Schultz for making the one-handed grab and completing the play. Here's a look at the snap below. Stroud and Schultz are both looking to rebound after setbacks from their breakout 2023 campaigns. Stroud, who won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after throwing for 4,000 yards, only tossed 20 touchdown passes while also throwing a career-high 12 interceptions. Even though his on-field play wasn't perfect, he was still able to guide the Texans to a second division title and playoff victory in the wild-card round. Schultz, who signed a three-year extension worth $36 million in the offseason, only managed to total two touchdown receptions off 53 catches for 523 yards. His role could expand now with the hiring of Los Angeles Rams tight ends coach and passing-game coordinator Nick Caley as the new offensive coordinator. The Texans return to practice on Monday. They'll be in Houston through the week before leaving for The Greenbriar in West Virginia next week ahead of their preseason matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

WATCH: New Texans RB Nick Chubb jukes past defenders for easy TD
Nick Chubb might not be an All-Pro for the Houston Texans, but he's looking the part of a lead running back in practice. Chubb, who is expected to take over as the lead back while Pro Bowl runner Joe Mixon misses a majority of training camp with a foot injury, made several Texans defenders miss him behind the line of scrimmage while he broke past the second level for what would have been a touchdown in a real game. With fans in attendance, No. 21 showed a bit more juice and gave fans something to talk about heading into the afternoon. Here's a clip down below. Chubb, who spent seven seasons with the Cleveland Browns, inked a one-year deal worth $2.5 million in May, though it could be worth up to $5 million if he hits his bonuses. With Mixon's injury, Chubb is going to have the first crack at working through the starting rotation over rookie Woody Marks and Dare Ogunbowale. A 2018 second-round pick out of Georgia, Chubb lived up to the billing with four Pro Bowl appearances and an All-Pro year in 2022. Part of Chubb's tenure — and eventual downfall — in Cleveland was hindered by injuries. He suffered a suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 of the 2023 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, forcing him to miss the first six games of 2024. Once he returned, Chubb averaged a career-low 3.3 yards per play over his final eight games. In Houston, Chubb hopes to recapture even half of his success prior to his injury while forming a duo with Mixon, who is expected to be back at some point early in the regular season. So far in camp, he's impressed the right people. "He's a pro. Nick has been the same guy. I've always admired Nick from when he was back at Georgia, playing," Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. "I've always admired him and it's no different. I can see why the guy has been good in his career. It's because he's a hard worker. He doesn't say much, but he shows you by his actions." The Texans return to practice on Monday.

Texans WR Tank Dell makes an appearance at training camp
Tank Dell might not be back in 2025 as he recovers from a devastating knee injury, but that doesn't mean the third-year Houston Texans receiver isn't helping the team in other ways off the field. Texans owner and CEO Cal McNair praised Dell for being an essential part of the team from the sidelines and supporting his teammates during training camp on the sidelines. The former third-round pick was seen at practice in front of fans on Saturday, interacting with the Houston faithful while signing autographs. 'He's got an unbreakable spirit,' Cal McNair said. 'It's showing up in his rehab and we can't wait to get him back here as soon as we can get him.' Dell, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL, LCL and MCL, along with a dislocated knee, will start the year on the PUP list. According to KPRC2 Sports' Aaron Wilson, the speedy receiver isn't expected to be cleared for contact before the end of the regular season. While he's not expected to be clear, Texans general manager Nick Caserio hasn't ruled him out for the season, though he also didn't put a timetable on when he'll be cleared for drills. "Tank's had a good attitude," Caserio said. "Been in the building essentially every day. He is working really hard." DeMeco Ryans mentioned that Dell has been "crushing" the rehab process and has been in a great "headspace," but also wouldn't put a timeline on a recovery timeline. "Whenever Tank is ready to go back, he'll be back.," Ryans said. "I'm concerned about Tank as a young man, just getting back healthy, physically and mentally. When that time is set, he'll be back for us.' Dell, who underwent his latest surgery in March, was seen walking around without any noticeable limp. He's yet to speak to the media, signs are pointing toward his role maybe expanding closer toward the season's end. The Texans return to training camp on Monday.
