LOOK: C.J. Stroud debuts new H-Town Blue practice jerseys ahead of training camp

It's not Love-Ya Blue, but H-Town Blue looks even better C.J. Stroud is looking for his best season yet, but he's also looking fresh in the new blue practice jerseys. With over 1,000 fans in attendance, the Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback greeted those who waited out in the rain, debuting a new H-Town Blue practice jersey. Quarterbacks will wear the H-Town color for all practices in front of the public. Here's a look at C.J. and new returner Braxton Berrios meeting with fans just before the start of practice. Last season, Stroud took a step back from his record-setting season. It wasn't terrible, but it was far from his standard, doubling his interception total and only tossing 20 touchdown passes. This offseason, Stroud focused on building himself up as a better team leader while focusing on his spiritual impact. 'I just want consistent wins," Stroud said Wednesday. "Not just like on the scoreboard or just on the field, of course that's very important, but just in life. So, just consistently winning.' The Texans open the season at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 7.

Ranking all 32 NFL home uniforms from worst (Commanders) to best

It's July. That means we're a month away from NFL games and two months away from NFL games that actually count. It's time to rank some uniforms. The doldrums of the offseason are the perfect time to stir up pointless arguments. There's no better place to start than what players wear each Sunday -- an effect that cannot be quantified by statistics and is instead buoyed by vibes. Are you prepared to listen to someone's dad whine about how NFL uniforms were better back in his day? This is my blind spot and I'm fine with it because it's July, art is subjective and also I'm ranking a bunch of uniforms. Well, might as well dive into it. 32. Washington Commanders Home uniform combination: Red helmet, red jersey, yellow or red pants Stenciled logo, stenciled numbers and highlighted nameplates that are doing too much, especially on longer names. Team owner Josh Harris and his new regime have had their hands full rebuilding a disgraced franchise, so an upgrade hasn't been on the menu. Still, they can make Jayden Daniels look better than this. 31. Tennessee Titans Home uniform combination: Blue helmet, blue jersey, white pants These may be the least offensive uniforms in Titan history. That does not mean they're good. The silver accents do a nice job of blending the two tones of blue here, at least. 30. Arizona Cardinals Home uniform combination: White helmet, red jersey, red pants Arizona's all-reds are totally fine, if a bit basic. That simplicity goes back almost 100 years, so at least it's leaning on tradition. But maaaaan, that's a lot of red. 29. Atlanta Falcons Home uniform combination: Black helmet, black jersey, black pants The Falcons' uniforms hold so much potential but their latest offerings incorporate entirely too much late-2010s (tapered, pointed lines, unnecessary contrast, bad drop shadows, etc). It's tough to separate these from their vastly superior throwbacks, even if they're generally... fine. 28. Houston Texans Home uniform combination: Navy helmet, navy jersey, white pants Totally fine, if unremarkable. The relative basic-ness of these uniforms are thrown into stark contrast by the team's Battle Red and H-Town kits which are, hooooo buddy, a lot. 27. Jacksonville Jaguars Home uniform combination: Black helmet, teal jersey, teal or white pants Jacksonville is slowly improving, and a quiet turn back toward the prowler jerseys of the 1990s (and the nicely handled touch of gold accents) is a great idea. The teal-on-teal here is a bit much, however. At least these aren't the dehydrated urine yellow of the team's old Color Rush kits. 26. Seattle Seahawks Home uniform combination: Blue helmet, blue jersey, silver pants Seattle's uniforms would rank higher if not for the perfection it ditched to get here. Fortunately, the Seahawks have leaned into their old Steve Hutchinson blues as an alternate and could be setting the stage for a return to (uniform) glory. 25. Denver Broncos Home uniform combination: Blue helmet, orange jersey, white (or blue or orange) pants Another perfectly cromulent uniform overshadowed by vastly superior throwbacks. In this case, the Broncos swapped out their perfect sleeve stripes for the vertical piping that was endemic to late 90s/mid-2000s redesigns. The result is a great color scheme and a kit that's dated, but not in a fun way. 24. Los Angeles Rams Home uniform combination: Blue helmet, blue jersey, blue pants The jersey number color gradient is a bit of a mess and the glossy sheen on the numbers and stripes makes them look like they're made of Fruit Roll-Ups. Otherwise, it's pretty good. 23. Philadelphia Eagles Home uniform combination: Green helmet, green jersey, white pants The Eagles' return to Kelly green alternate jerseys in 2023 served as a reminder of how average their everyday kits are. Like New England and Denver, they lose points for ditching a perfectly great uniform. 22. New England Patriots Home uniform combination: Silver helmet, blue jersey, silver pants Each year New England denies the full-time glory of Pat Patriot and its gorgeous red-and-white jerseys it strays further from God's love. At least they brought back the shoulder stripes. 21. Carolina Panthers Home uniform combination: Silver helmet, black jersey, silver pants These are indeed the uniforms of a 90s expansion team, but they're coming back around to looking rad. The Carolina Blue pants are the superior home kit. 20. Baltimore Ravens Home uniform combination: Black helmet, purple jersey, white, black or purple pants The Ravens look and play like a gigantic bruise. Occasionally they go full purple for primetime games and I can't decide if it's great or terrible, which is the sign of good uniform design. 19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Home uniform combination: Grey helmet, red jersey, grey pants While the creamsicle orange uniforms remain an absolute treat (ice cream term) to see on random Sundays, the Bucs ditched their jersey panels and solar calculator numbering for a more traditional wine-and-slate combination and it worked wonders. 18. Kansas City Chiefs Home uniform combination: Red helmet, red jersey, red pants It's hot dog colors all the way through. But it's simple and clean and ultimately a good look for a team that doesn't mess with a design that works. 17. New York Giants Home uniform combination: Blue helmet, blue jersey, white pants The red number outlines and sleeve stripes of the 1980s are missed, but this remains a clean, classic look that's tough to find fault with. 16. Cincinnati Bengals Home uniform combination: Orange helmet, orange or black jersey, black, white or orange pants The theme is consistent; tiger stripes on the helmets, jerseys and pants (it's a lot of stripes). The black jerseys with white pants are the cleanest look in the bunch. This is significantly better than the paneled versions that defined the Marvin Lewis era along with playoff losses and Vontaze Burfict's undying belief the Uruk-Hai were the real heroes of the Lord of the Rings. 15. New Orleans Saints Home uniform combination: Gold helmet, black jersey, black pants A beautiful, simple color scheme, even if the entire look is better with the white jerseys of the away kit. The throwback with gold pants and a white-and-gold sleeve stripe is better than the team's all-black look with a gold collar, but everything works. 14. Minnesota Vikings Home uniform combination: Purple helmet, purple jersey, purple or white pants Minnesota occasionally rolls with the thick sleeve stripes of its past, but the tapered white and yellow on a purple backdrop works as well. The Vikings occasionally go full purple, which isn't nearly as clean or balanced as this hybrid throwback look. 13. New York Jets Home uniform combination: Green helmet, green jersey, white pants The return to the 1980s was a significant upgrade from early 2020s North Texas cosplay that was the sartorial equivalent of a Zach Wilson deep ball; promising in theory and hideous in execution. The shoulder stripes are classic, the vertical leg stripe is clean and the return to the flying jet logo is a welcome change. 12. Dallas Cowboys Home uniform combination: Silver helmet, white or blue jersey, light blue or silver pants Dallas wore white jerseys for five of its home games last season, giving fans a look at the superior every day uniform combination. Like the Raiders, these are quickly becoming a sign of greater days long past. 11. Las Vegas Raiders Home uniform combination: Silver helmet, black jersey, silver pants Black and silver belong to the Raiders. Like the Pittsburgh Pirates, their merchandise remains cool despite turning gentle winds of disappointment into decades-long hurricanes. 10. Detroit Lions Home uniform combination: Silver helmet, blue jersey, silver pants Dan Campbell finally has this team playing to the level of its uniforms. Turns out, they look even better on a swarm of angry bees pretending to be a football team. 9. Chicago Bears Home uniform combination: Navy helmet, navy jersey, white pants An appreciably un-[expletive]withable design for an old school team. The Bears know this works and have stuck with it, which is traditionally a very un-Bears strategy. 8. Green Bay Packers Home uniform combination: Yellow helmet, green jersey, yellow pants It's been roughly the same look since Super Bowl I. That spans nearly 60 years, 12 head coaches and two quarterbacks whom I can't write about what I really want to say. 7. Miami Dolphins Home uniform combination: White helmet, green jersey, white pants A gorgeous combination of teal and orange providing a tropical vibe. It still doesn't excuse the fact the franchise swapped out a perfect dolphin logo for a sleek redesign but, dang, these kits look good. Unfortunately, they also get docked a few points because the sleeve stripes of the throwbacks, worn in concert with an awesome end zone logo, are the superior (but less worn) home look. 6. San Francisco 49ers Home uniform combination: Gold helmet, red jersey, gold pants The Niners kits have retained the same basic values -- matching pant and sleeve stripes, the gold-red-gold stack -- since Joe Montana was behind center. It works, though I'm torn on whether the numbers look better with black outlines or as straight up classic white. 5. Buffalo Bills Home uniform combination: White helmet, blue jersey, white pants A classic look and the vertical stripe on the helmet matches the vertical stripe on the pants. Bonus points for when players wear the high socks that parallel the (chef's kiss) horizontal arm stripes. The only debate here is whether it looks better with white helmets or red. 4. Cleveland Browns Home uniform combination: Orange helmet, brown jersey, orange or white pants Orange-on-brown numbers and lettering. Like all things Browns, I have no idea how this is supposed to work. Unlike all things Browns, it actually does. 3. Indianapolis Colts Home uniform combination: White helmet, blue jersey, white pants The shoulder stripes are perfect (and coordinated with a lovely vertical pant stripe). The colors match the city flag. Pair it with a perfect, simple helmet design and you've got a look to last a century. 2. Pittsburgh Steelers Home uniform combination: Black helmet, black jersey, yellow pants The king of all sleeve stripes. Iowa asked permission to copy them in 1979 and have looked sharp as hell ever since. 1. Los Angeles Chargers Home uniform combination: White helmet, blue jersey, yellow or white pants Powder blue is a god-tier color. The yellow shoulder bolts are perfection. The helmets look great no matter the color scheme. A beautiful look all around.

Megan Thee Stallion FINALLY Replies to Slim Thug Shooting His Shot Online

Black America Web Featured Video CLOSE Source: 300 ENT / 1501 Certified If there's one thing about Slim Thug, he's gonna speak his mind online. The topic could be politics, sports, women's rights and even celeb crushes. Recently Thugga's being campaigning for the affection of fellow Houstonian Megan Thee Stallion. RELATED: Vivica A. Fox Said THESE HOLLYWOOD MEN Are The Best Kissers As reported on Hip Hop Wired , after the Hot Girl Coach was seen dancing to two of his classic tracks, 'Thug from Around the Way' and the iconic 'Still Tippin,' Slim Thug took it as more than just a tribute. 'Aye, if that ain't a 'Daddy, I want you' call then what is,' he said. 'She danced to two of my songs? I say I'm in there.' The rapper believes it's only a matter of time before Megan makes the first move. 'I'm just waiting on my day she comes to Houston and hits me up,' he added with a smirk. The two H-Town artists go way back, with Slim Thug showing love to Megan early in her career. Their paths have crossed at several Houston events, but fans are skeptical about his recent crush claims. Many online are calling Thug delusional, saying Megan was simply showing respect to another Houston icon, not flirting. 'That's not her shooting her shot, she's just reppin' the city,' one fan commented. Now Meg has replied to Slim's playful advances. 'And no, Slim Thug, this don't mean I like you,' she said before a massive crowd. 'I just like your music babe.' Check out the video below. Desmond Scott shows off diverse Houston cuisine in Hollywood

Barbecue brisket bao buns and bacon jalapeño stuffed monkey bread are among the Texas-inspired menu items Houston chef and content creator Desmond Scott is bringing to Hollywood. Why it matters: Chef-restaurant collaborations allow diners to experience H-Town's diverse food scene. State of play: This is the first restaurant/bar collaboration for Scott, who is married to fellow content creator Kristy Sarah. The self-taught cook curated a small menu of appetizers and a cocktail that guests and visitors of The Edition hotel in West Hollywood can enjoy through April 6. Along with the aforementioned items, the menu included BBQ carrot bao buns and hamachi crudo (raw yellowtail fish served without rice). What he's saying: Desmond spoke to Axios about how Houston's food scene inspired the menu and where he and Kristy like to eat the most. How did you decide which Houston-inspired items to put on the menu? "Houston is very well known for being such a melting pot of a city. I think that I really leaned into the things that I personally love. For example, the monkey bread, I took inspiration from soul food and tried to build out something that was just unique." "I think Texas barbecue is what I consider to be the best that you can get out there, especially in Houston ... as far as the brisket bao bun, I really wanted to do something that spoke to that, but make it fun and accessible as a bar item." What are your favorite local food trends? "It seems that we're starting to get a lot of ramen spots and places you can get yakiniku and different Japanese cooking experiences. Japanese is probably some of my favorite food." What is your favorite restaurant in Houston? " El Tiempo. The family owns a couple of restaurants within the city." "Between their margaritas, enchiladas and salsas, I think they are really spectacular, and they've been doing really well." What is Kristy's favorite restaurant? "Her favorite is to eat what I make at home." What would you like to accomplish in the next year? "I would love to put out a cookbook and continue to collaborate with different restaurants or hotels. I think it's a really fun way to be involved with the industry."
