Moodbidri Police have since filed a separate First Information Report (FIR) concerning the explicit material. A police official confirmed that legal action is being pursued under applicable sections related to obscenity and potential threats to public morality, as reported by PTI.

Soon after the accused teacher started taking the teenager to expensive hotels to sexually assault him, the student developed acute anxiety. She then allegedly gave him some anti-anxiety pills, the official said. Police stated that the teacher would also often allegedly get the boy drunk before abusing him. She was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Juvenile Justice Act.
