YouTube's latest experiment makes comments feel more like Reddit, if that sounds like an improvement

Joe Maring / Android Authority TL;DR YouTube is rolling out Reddit-style comment threading to Premium subscribers on Android and iOS. The experiment has been updated so the main comment is threaded to subsequent replies. Threaded comments will remain available until August 14. YouTube's comments section is going to look a little different for Premium subscribers. The company is rolling out an experiment inspired by Reddit. Earlier this year, YouTube began testing a new threaded comment UI for Android and iOS. At the time, only a small group of users got the chance to use the threaded comment system. YouTube has now announced that it is expanding the experiment to Premium users. When the test first rolled out, it was a bit of a half-baked product compared to the way it's implemented on Reddit. However, YouTube has since improved the feature. Previously, it only connected a user's profile picture to the 'X replies' button. Now the feature has been updated, so the main comment is threaded to subsequent replies. Additionally, replies to a reply are now threaded as well. Overall, it's a change that some will appreciate and others maybe less so. As it's an experiment, it won't be around for forever. The company notes that comment threading will stick around for Premium subscribers until August 14. Just like the initial test, this experiment will only appear on Android and iOS. Got a tip? CMF's New Pro Smartwatch Gets Beefier, Healthier, and Less Customizable

The world of cheap Android smartwatches is pretty crowded, but there's still room for one more if Nothing's subbrand CMF has anything to say about it. CMF unveiled the Watch 3 Pro today, which gets a little bit of a size increase and some additional health-tracking features compared to its predecessor. Specifically, the Watch 3 Pro adds a more advanced heart rate sensor into the mix. According to CMF, an optical sensor will be able to glean 'finer variations in blood flow,' which should equate to more accurate heart rate tracking. CMF says that, thanks to the new sensor, the readings are up to 7% more accurate while exercising and up to 3.6% more accurate while resting compared to previous generations. Health features this go-around include blood oxygen tracking, stress tracking, reminders to drink that important thing called water, and even guided breathing sessions to help you chill out for once. Train. Learn. Go again. Watch 3 Pro is here to help you move smart. — CMF by Nothing (@cmfbynothing) July 22, 2025 In addition to a better heart rate sensor, CMF's Watch 3 Pro will also get a bigger screen—a 10% size increase over the previous generation. Specifically, the Watch 3 Pro has a 1.43-inch display over the previous generation's 1.32-inch display. That's great for anyone who doesn't fancy squinting at notifications on their watch all day. An AMOLED display should also help make the watch's display contrast-y and clear. CMF says the Watch 3 Pro's display will top out at 670 nits of peak brightness. That's not anywhere near the level of an Apple Watch, but you should expect certain compromises when buying a cheaper Android alternative. One thing that the Watch 3 Pro won't have, however, is a customizable bezel. The Watch Pro 2 has bezels that can be changed in and out at will, depending on how you want your smartwatch to look. Not the biggest deal, but also kind of a bummer to see that same freedom hasn't been extended to its newest model. Battery life-wise, CMF says its Watch 3 Pro performs a little better than previous iterations. According to the company, the Watch 3 Pro will get a max of 13 days of battery life compared to the previous generation's 11 days, though that will obviously depend on usage and whether you have the heads-up display activated. Heads-up displays have a pesky habit of killing battery life, since screens are the number one way devices typically eat up juice. The good news is that the CMF Watch 3 Pro hits an affordable note. While the retail price is listed as $99, the smartwatch is currently marked down to $79. Whether a watch like this is your style is a personal choice, but it's nice to know you can get in the smartwatch game for not a ton of money nowadays.

Gmail's New 'Manage Subscriptions' Feature Makes Cleaning Up Your Inbox a Breeze

Google has given Gmail users a better way to manage their subscriptions. It's not only easier to unsubscribe from a specific newsletter, but to quickly view all subscriptions and manage them in just a few taps or clicks. It's rolling out now for the web, Android and iOS, and you'll find it in the Gmail sidebar when it's available for your device. Previously, when you viewed an email newsletter, an "unsubscribe" option would appear at the top so you could quickly unsubscribe with a single tap or click, but that would (obviously) only work for the individual newsletter. The new feature centralizes all of your newsletter subscriptions so you can declutter unnecessary future emails with ease. Below, we'll show you where to find the new feature and how to quickly unsubscribe from unnecessary or out-of-control senders to tame your inbox. While you're at it, here's how to free up 15GB of Gmail space. Here's where to find the new Manage Subscriptions feature in the Gmail app The new Manage Subscriptions feature is tucked into the sidebar of the Gmail app. Gmail/Screenshot by Arielle Burton Before you can use the feature, you should check to see if you have it first. Here's how. Open the Gmail app on your iPhone or Android phone app on your iPhone or Android phone Tap the menu bar at the top left (three stacked lines) If you have the feature, Manage Subscriptions should be below the Trash section How to find Manage Subscriptions Gmail for the web Login to Gmail from a web browser On the left, click More Click on Manage Subscriptions The feature is currently rolling out to the web, Android and iPhones in select countries, so you might need to wait a bit if you don't have the new view just yet. How to manage subscriptions from the new view Once you arrive at the Manage Subscriptions section, a list of the newsletters you're currently subscribed to will be displayed, sorted by the most frequent senders and the number of emails they've sent in the past few weeks. Tapping directly on the sender name will bring up the most recent emails received, and you can easily unsubscribe by tapping the icon to the right of the name, which looks like an email with a minus sign "-" in front of it. Gmail will send an unsubscribe email to the newsletter you no longer want to receive. Google Once you've tapped that unsubscribe icon, Gmail will ask if you want to stop receiving emails from the sender. Once you tap unsubscribe, an email will go to the sender notifying them of the unsubscribe request. It can take a few days for the sender to honor the request, but all emails sent by them going forward should be sent to your Spam folder going forward. If you want to get an even better grip on Gmail, don't miss these 10 tips.
