Versatile forward Albert Adomah has signed a new one-year contract with Walsall.
The 37-year-old made 54 appearances for the Saddlers last term, including 42 in the league, as they lost in the League One play-off final despite being 12 points clear at the top of the table at the start of the year and 10 points ahead of fourth place with 11 games remaining.

Adomah joined Walsall from Queens Park Rangers last summer and his first season at the Bescot Stadium saw him make the 700th appearance of his 17-year career.
"I feel really loved here by the supporters and I want to keep playing as much as I possibly can and helping the team wherever I can as well," Adomah said.
"Unfortunately, last season didn't finish with the moment that we all wanted it to but I really enjoyed my time here and it was an easy decision for me to decide to stay here for another year."
Adomah is the second member of the Saddlers squad in the last few days to agree fresh terms ahead of the new season after midfielder Ronan Maher signed on for another two years.

Colchester United linked with swoop for former League One defender

COLCHESTER United have been linked with a move for left-back Ali Koiki. The U's, along with an unnamed League One club are interested in signing the London-born defender along with Cheltenham Town, according to Pete O'Rourke, transfer correspondent for Football Insider. Koiki, 25, is currently a free agent but is on trial at Cheltenham, as he looks to earn a contract for the 2025/26 season following his departure from Northampton Town, at the end of the last campaign. After initially starting out in Crystal Palace's academy, he was spotted playing for Kinetic Academy by Burnley, where he signed his first professional contract at the end of the 2017/18 season. Koiki did not make a senior appearance for the Clarets but during his time at Turf Moor, spent time on loan at Swindon Town where he played 15 league and cup games in the 2018/19 season. He left Burnley and joined Bristol Rovers in 2020 where he made five appearances in League One before departing to join Northampton in the summer of 2021. The defender is now looking for a new challenge after he was released by the Cobblers, at the end of the previous campaign. Colchester are on the lookout for a new full-back following the departure of Mandela Egbo, earlier this summer. They completed the signing of Kane Vincent-Young last week but may well look to add further strength in depth, in the coming days.

Wycombe set to sign Bristol Rovers defender Taylor

Wycombe Wanderers have won the race for Bristol Rovers defender Connor Taylor. The 23-year-old is expected to have a medical with the League One club on Tuesday before completing a move worth more than £500,000. Rovers had rejected several bids from Peterborough United for the centre-back but he is now expected to move to Adams Park. Taylor joined Rovers from Stoke permanently in 2023, having previously been on loan in 2021-22, and has made 136 appearances - scoring six times - for the club. He impressed despite Rovers' relegation to League Two last season but was left out of the squad for Saturday's opening-day 1-0 defeat by Harrogate. Ex-Swindon attacker makes seven-figure move to League One favourites

Former Swindon Town striker Jerry Yates has completed a move to Luton Town for an undisclosed fee believed to be seven figures. Now 28, Yates has moved from Swansea City to Luton, who just dropped into League One following back-to-back relegations and will be hoping to guide them to promotion. After previous spells on loan at Harrogate Town and Carlisle United, Richie Wellens brought Yates to Swindon on loan from Rotherham United in the summer of 2019 as part of his squad rebuild. After scoring against Scunthorpe United on the opening day of the season, he went on to strike up a legendary partnership with Eoin Doyle as he scored 13 goals to the 31 of the Irishman with Town winning League Two on points per game after the league was stopped due to the pandemic. Although attempts were made to bring him back to Swindon, Yates eventually moved to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee, where he would go on to score 42 goals in 124 appearances and win the PFA League One Fans Player of the Year in 2020/21 during promotion to the Championship. Since his time at Blackpool, Yates moved to Swansea, where he scored nine goals and was then sent on loan to Derby County last season, where his ten goals in 42 matches helped them remain in the second tier. Now he will look to fire a fourth side to promotion as he joins Luton, who have been widely tipped as League One favourites. Yates will have to wait for his debut, after arriving too late for The Hatters' 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon on the opening weekend, but will have competition to start from Nakhi Wells, Cauley Woodrow, and, once fit, fellow former Swindon man Elijah Adebayo. 'As a player, you want to play at the highest level possible, but I felt coming to Luton gave me the best possible chance of doing that. It's a massive club that was in the Premier League two seasons ago, and now's the time to get the club back up the divisions. 'I came here, looked at the facilities, at Kenilworth Road, and after we'd finished, I told my agent ', get me there now'. 'I'm excited because the club is ambitious and I can't wait to get started and to score goals.'
