Walsall's Jellis charged with betting breaches
Walsall midfielder Jamie Jellis has been charged with misconduct for allegedly breaching the Football Association's rules on betting. The 24-year-old is accused of placing a total of 2,248 bets on matches between 30 April 2019 and 4 July 2023. All the alleged bets took place before he joined the Saddlers from Tamworth, then in National League North, in January 2024. After leaving Stevenage in 2020, Jellis spent four years in non-league before getting another chance in the English Football League with Walsall. He has made 57 appearances for the Saddlers, scoring seven goals. Jellis has until 29 July to respond to the charge. "We will be supporting Jamie throughout the process," said a brief Walsall statement on the matter.

Veteran Walsall forward Adomah signs new deal
Versatile forward Albert Adomah has signed a new one-year contract with Walsall. The 37-year-old made 54 appearances for the Saddlers last term, including 42 in the league, as they lost in the League One play-off final despite being 12 points clear at the top of the table at the start of the year and 10 points ahead of fourth place with 11 games remaining. Advertisement Adomah joined Walsall from Queens Park Rangers last summer and his first season at the Bescot Stadium saw him make the 700th appearance of his 17-year career. "I feel really loved here by the supporters and I want to keep playing as much as I possibly can and helping the team wherever I can as well," Adomah said. "Unfortunately, last season didn't finish with the moment that we all wanted it to but I really enjoyed my time here and it was an easy decision for me to decide to stay here for another year." Adomah is the second member of the Saddlers squad in the last few days to agree fresh terms ahead of the new season after midfielder Ronan Maher signed on for another two years.

Walsall sign wing-back Clarke from Eastbourne
Walsall have signed Courtney Clarke from Eastbourne Borough after the wing-back turned down the offer of a new deal with the non-league 22-year-old moves to the League Two side on a two-year contract after the Saddlers agreed an undisclosed compensation who had a spell on the books at Derby County as a teenager, won Eastbourne's young player of the year award in his only season with the National League South is the first signing made by Walsall since they were consigned to another campaign in League Two after losing the play-off final against AFC Wimbledon last month."He had a fantastic season at Eastbourne and started to grab the attention of people looking in that direction," Walsall head coach Mat Sadler told the club website., external"He fits the mould of exactly the type of player we bring to the club – young, hungry and wanting to get better.

Walsall midfielder McEntee joins Hearts
Walsall defensive midfielder Oisin McEntee has agreed to join Scottish Premiership side Hearts on a three-year of Ireland under-21 international McEntee, 24, has made 79 appearances for the Saddlers across three seasons since joining from Newcastle United in was part of a Walsall side that led League Two for much of the past season but dropped off in the run-in and ended up losing the play-off final to AFC who played in the Scottish Championship with Morton in 2021-22 during a loan spell from Newcastle, will join the Jam Tarts on a free transfer when his Walsall deal expires this summer."It became clear in our conversations Oisin is hungry, he wants to learn and improve, and be part of what we're trying to do here at Hearts," said boss Derek McInnes."He's played in defence and midfield, so to have options around his positioning is a big plus.
