Tate McRae Tops Lady Gaga And Benson Boone At Pop Radio
Tate McRae has been working her way up to pop star status for years. She first scored hits on the Billboard charts several years back, but her most recent full-length So Close to What produced several of her biggest successes. A handful of recent collaborations have also propelled her further into the spotlight.
This week, the Canadian pop singer scores a new win on one of Billboard's most competitive radio rankings. As her latest single debuts, she breaks out of a tie with several of the biggest stars in music, proving that her moment has truly arrived.
McRae's single "Revolving Door" debuts on the Pop Airplay chart at No. 39. The tune comes in second-to-last place on the list of the most successful cuts at top 40 stations in the United States. Its arrival marks the singer-songwriter's twelfth appearance on the tally.
Even though it begins in a very low position, "Revolving Door" is still a special win for McRae. This frame, she claims the most hits among all artists on the Pop Airplay chart. Several other acts fill two spaces, but McRae is the only one who claims three.
Her solo cut "Sports Car" can be found at No. 15, while "What I Want," a collaboration with country powerhouse Morgan Wallen, isn't far behind, coming in at No. 19. Tate McRae Beats Lady Gaga, Benson Boone and SZA
Four other artists claim two smashes each on the Pop Airplay roster this frame. That roundup includes Benson Boone, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA, who are featured on one another's tunes. Tate McRae's Multi-Genre Radio Success
In addition to her success on the Pop Airplay chart, McRae can be found on the Adult Pop Airplay tally with several tracks. She also returns to the Country Airplay list this week alongside Wallen, where "What I Want" reenters at No. 60, in last place. While that tune has already dominated the Hot 100, it has yet to become a true win at country radio, as pop stations have adopted it much faster.

They take a seat and Smitty asks again about Malone and Internal Affairs. Elon says nothing came from Malone's interactions with Internal Affairs. Smitty asks about the connection between Malone and Internal Affairs as he has a source that connects them. Elon admits he knows the connection but thinks Vernon deserves his privacy. James Gunn responds to criticism over ‘immigrant' Superman: ‘It's about kindness'
James Gunn has responded to the backlash against his 'Superman is an immigrant' remark by saying his forthcoming movie is about 'kindness'. The DC Studios co-CEO said earlier this week that Superman was 'the story of America'. 'An immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost,' he told The Sunday Times. Reacting to the director's remark, Fox News anchor Kellyanne Conway said on The Five: 'We don't go to the movie theater to be lectured to and to have somebody throw their ideology onto us. I wonder if it will be successful.' Kellyanne on Superman: We don't go to the movie theater to be lectured to—Watters: You know what it says on his cape? MS13 — Acyn (@Acyn) July 7, 2025 Online reactions to Gunn's comment mocked his position, with some commentators claiming they wouldn't watch the film because it was too 'woke'. 'How to lose $200m in 30 words or less,' wrote one person on X. Another said: 'So in other words, he just took the source material and made it woke. Sounds about right.' Responding to the criticism, Gunn said Superman was for 'everyone'. 'I'm not here to judge people,' he told Variety at the Superman premiere in Los Angeles on Monday. 'I think this is a movie about kindness and I think that's something everyone can relate to.' Gunn's iteration of the iconic DC superhero features David Corenswet as the titular Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as the villainous Lex Luther. The cast also includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. 'My reaction is that it is exactly what the movie is about,' Sean Gunn, who plays Maxwell Lord, said about the backlash. 'We support our people, you know? We love our immigrants. Yes, Superman is an immigrant, and yes, the people that we support in this country are immigrants and if you don't like that, you are not American. People who say no to immigrants are against the American way.' Fan reactions to Gunn's comments about Superman have been generally supportive, however, with many bringing up earlier adaptations of the superhero and how he's always been political. 'The worst people you know are upset about this because they completely missed the point of Superman, despite how being an immigrant is such a fundamental part of his character,' said one fan on X. 'The concept of being shocked by superman, who had always been an alien immigrant, being portrayed as an alien immigrant,' said another. If James Gunn's recent comments upset you, you're not only one of the most pathetic snowflakes alive today but you're also clearly not a fan of the character. An immigrant story about basic human kindness IS the story. Always has been. Supes IS about "the American way" ... the one that originated with "bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." — Jonathan Decker, LMFT (@FamilyExpert15) July 8, 2025 Another fan said: 'Anyone upset with James Gunn for 'ruining Superman' hasn't paid attention. An immigrant story about basic human kindness IS the story. Always has been. Supes IS about 'the American way'... the one that originated with 'bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.'' Earlier this week, Gunn had responded to an apparent attempt by Zack Snyder fans to sabotage his new Superman movie with a targeted online campaign. Although trailers for the film have prompted mostly positive reactions, there is a growing backlash from fans of Justice League director Snyder and the previous DC universe, otherwise known as the DC Extended Universe. Snyder directed three films within the universe, beginning with the 2013 Superman project Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill. Disgruntled Snyder fans have since taken to the 'Snyder Cut' subreddit to demand that others 'stand up and fight' on the day Superman is released by sharing spoilers, posting negative reviews and reserving cinema tickets in bulk. 'Lol I think we'll survive,' Gunn responded on social media. Superman releases in cinemas on 11 July.

Jake Paul pursuing legal action against Piers Morgan, others who claimed Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight was rigged
After yet another win in the boxing ring, Jake Paul has his next fights lined up in the courtroom. Paul earned his 12th professional win in late June when he took a wide unanimous decision over former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. However, as has seemingly become customary with Paul's fights, it didn't come and go without controversy, as a handful of notable figures in the media claimed the bout was "fixed" or rigged in Paul's favor. Arguably the most notable of those names was Piers Morgan, a prominent English media personality who interviewed Paul ahead of the match. Advertisement Paul, 28, has been no stranger to these claims throughout his 13-match career. This time around, though, he and fellow Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) co-founder Nakisa Bidarian don't plan to sit idly by. Both men expressed their displeasure on social media with Morgan's comments, and speaking in-studio on Monday's edition of "The Ariel Helwani Show," Bidarian confirmed that MVP is pursuing legal action against certain figures that made these sort of baseless public accusations. "We are in the process, yes, 100%. Enough is enough," Bidarian said. "The time has passed that Jake has shown what he's able to do in the ring. People still want to criticize, that's OK, but don't make false accusations. Don't make statements that definitively damage his brand, his business and MVP's profile, MVP's brand. "Not to be discussed here, but the damage is — we're in business with DAZN. We're in business with Netflix. We're in business with Celsius. That's the damage that you're causing, because you're having us have to have conversations with our partners that are just unjustifiable. Advertisement "I can definitively say our legal representation are looking at multiple individuals to go after." Bidarian understands these types of comments come with the territory with someone as publicly polarizing as his business partner Paul — to an extent. The YouTube star has gradually attempted to legitimize himself in the boxing world since first transitioning from the influencer realm in 2020. The problem now, believes Bidarian, is that it's been five years since Paul committed to his boxing career. "Look, [it's OK if you're] stating, 'Hey, I think this or I think that,' but when you definitively state that Jake is putting on staged or rigged fights, that's just defamation," Bidarian said. "You're causing substantial damage to his business, to MVP's business, and something that's 100% not true, right? It's a federal crime to stage a fight. That's why we're going to get a lot more aggressive in going after these individuals who make these statements. "In the world of social media, these false statements get carried in a way that people will start to believe the narrative. That was the genesis of the issues with [UFC CEO] Dana White, because he was the one that was saying Jake's fights are rigged, Jake's using steroids. That's how all that came to fruition. We're in a place where people just can't believe what Jake is doing, is how I look at it, so they have to say it's staged." Advertisement The Chavez match followed Paul's most widely seen attraction yet, when he boxed former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson this past November. The event marked the first time Netflix streamed a live sporting event and reached a global audience of more than 108 million viewers, according to Netflix. But with that spotlight came similar criticisms as Morgan's that Paul and MVP continue to face. Those usual refrains aren't the only bit of controversy to follow Paul vs. Chavez Jr., though, as the latter was stunningly detained by federal ICE agents in California just four days after the match. The Department of Homeland Security has stated that the 39-year-old boxer had an active arrest warrant in Mexico, and that Chavez is expected to be deported to Mexico to serve a prison sentence. Advertisement Bidarian is unaware of Chavez's current status, but stated that both he and his team at MVP had no prior knowledge of the issues. "I got a text early Thursday morning, East Coast [time], probably around 4 a.m., from an immigration advocate that I know," Bidarian recalled. "He said, 'Just FYI, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been detained by ICE.' I said, 'What?' Then, later in the day, we find out more details. "The confusing part is they identified him as someone to go after on June 27. Why it took until the following Wednesday night? I have no idea. I'm sure they certainly knew where he was going to be on June 28 [for his fight against Paul]."
