"Determined to enhance participation of young friends": PM Modi to distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters on July 12
According to the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi will also address the appointees on the occasion.
Reacting to this, Prime Minister Modi posted on X, and emphasized that the government is determined to increase youth participation in building a 'Viksit and Atmanirbhar' Bharat.
'We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India. In this series, tomorrow, July 12, at 11 AM, I will participate in another employment fair through video conferencing, where thousands of youths will be handed appointment letters,' PM Modi said.
Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of Prime Minister's commitment to accord highest priority to employment generation. The Rozgar Mela will play a significant role in providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in nation building. More than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country.
The 16th Rozgar Mela will be held at 47 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Ministries and Departments. The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour & Employment among other departments and ministries.
As per the information given by PIB, more than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country, and the 16th Rozgar Mela will be held at 47 locations across the country.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Thursday morning after concluding his five-nation tour that spanned from July 2 to 9. The diplomatic journey covered Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia, and included his participation in the 17th BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro under Brazil's chairmanship. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed delight over the inclusion of the 'Maratha Military Landscapes' in the UNESCO World Heritage List, marking the country's 44th property to receive this prestigious recognition. India is currently a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the term 2021–25. Taking to X, PM Modi said, "Every Indian is elated with this recognition. These 'Maratha Military Landscapes' include 12 majestic forts, 11 of which are in Maharashtra and 1 is in Tamil Nadu." Highlighting the significance of the Maratha Empire, the Prime Minister said, "When we speak of the glorious Maratha Empire, we associate it with good governance, military strength, cultural pride and emphasis on social welfare. The great rulers inspire us with their refusal to bow to any injustice." He also called upon citizens to visit these forts and learn about the rich heritage and history of the Maratha Empire. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also hailed the development and extended gratitude to Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for his support in making the inclusion possible. The inscription of the Maratha Military Landscapes took place during the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Paris, France. It marks a significant milestone in global recognition of India's diverse and culturally rich heritage. The 12 chosen locations span Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, including the forts of Salher, Shivneri, Lohgad, Khanderi, Raigad, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Suvarnadurg, Panhala, Vijaydurg, and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, as well as Gingee Fort in Tamil Nadu. Of these, Shivneri Fort, Suvarnadurg, Lohgad, Raigad, Sindhudurg, Panhala Fort, Vijaydurg, and Gingee Fort are under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The last four -- Salher Fort, Rajgad, Khanderi Fort, and Pratapgarh -- are preserved by the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums of the Government of Maharashtra. The Maratha Military Landscapes were nominated under criteria (iv) and (vi) of UNESCO's World Heritage framework. These criteria acknowledge sites that bear exceptional testimony to a living cultural tradition and are associated with significant historical events. The forts demonstrate architectural and technological sophistication and are intrinsically linked with the Maratha military tradition and governance. The inclusion underscores the importance of preserving and promoting sites that possess Outstanding Universal Values (OUVs), as defined by UNESCO, in cultural, natural, or mixed categories. These shared heritage values are honoured across 196 countries.

He also urged the citizens to visit the inscribed heritage of 12 historic forts,11 located in Maharashtra and one in Tamil Nadu. In a statement, the Prime Minister highlighted the enduring legacy of the Maratha empire, describing it as synonymous with good governance, military prowess, cultural pride, and a deep commitment to social welfare. 'Great rulers inspire us with their refusal to bow to any injustice,' he remarked. Urging citizens to visit these forts, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of engaging with India's rich historical and cultural heritage. Modi also recalled his 2014 visit to Raigad Fort, sharing a photograph in which he paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He described the visit as a cherished memory. Responding to a social media post by UNESCO announcing the inscription, the Prime Minister stated: 'Every Indian is elated with this recognition. Indian aviation industry to report net loss of ₹30 billion in FY26: ICRA
New Delhi [India], July 12 (ANI): India's aviation industry is projected to record a net loss in the range of ₹ 20-30 billion in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26), broadly in line with the estimated losses for FY2024-25 (FY25), according to the credit rating firm ICRA. The firm said in a report that these losses are expected to continue compared to a net profit of around ₹ 16 billion in FY2024 due to the anticipated pressure on yields as airlines strive to maintain adequate passenger load factors (PLF) amid continued aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices. The report stated that while demand for air travel remains robust, airlines are unlikely to raise ticket prices significantly due to competitive pressures and price sensitivity in the domestic market. This, coupled with costlier fuel, is expected to eat into profitability. Adding to the financial strain, interest costs are likely to rise in FY26 due to growing lease liabilities, as several airlines have scheduled aircraft deliveries. The increased debt burden is expected to raise financing costs, further compressing margins. Despite these challenges, the projected losses for FY26 are a marked improvement compared to the massive setbacks of the past. The industry had posted staggering net losses of ₹ 235 billion in FY22 and ₹ 174 billion in FY23, largely driven by COVID-19-related disruptions and fuel cost volatility. Financial resilience, however, is slowly improving. The sector's interest coverage ratio, a key indicator of its ability to service debt, is expected to range between 1.5 and 2.0 times in FY26, suggesting relatively stable debt-servicing capacity even amid bottom-line pressures. For June 2025, domestic air passenger traffic was estimated at 138.7 lakh, 5.1 per cent higher than 132.1 lakh in June 2024. However, it witnessed a marginal decline of 1.3 per cent on a sequential basis. The airlines' capacity deployment in June 2025 was 4.9 per cent higher than June 2024; however, it was 2.3 per cent lower compared to May 2025. For Q1 FY2026 (April-June 2025), domestic air passenger traffic was 422.4 lakh, reflecting a YoY growth of 5.1 per cent. For May 2025, international passenger traffic for Indian carriers was 29.7 lakh, a YoY growth of 7.3 per cent. However, it remained lower by 7.9 per cent on a sequential basis owing to geopolitical headwinds. For 2M FY2026, international passenger traffic for Indian carriers stood at 59.8 lakh, a YoY growth of 12.1 per cent. For FY2025 (April 2024-March 2025), domestic air passenger traffic stood at around 1,653.8 lakh, a YoY growth of 7.6 per cent.
