BRS student wing to launch campaign against AP's Banakacherla project
The party's student wing has printed 5,00,000 pamphlets for distribution in colleges. A significant meeting is scheduled for Saturday in Uppal, where senior BRS leaders will participate. Gellu Srinivas Yadav, President of BRSV (BRS Students Wing), announced that the BRS Student Wing State Conference will take place on July 26 at Mallapur VNR Gardens in Uppal constituency, commencing at 10 am. MLA T Harish Rao is set to participate in the morning session, while MLA G Jagadish Reddy and MLC Deshpati Srinivas will attend the afternoon session. In the evening, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao will deliver the closing address to the students.
Srinivas Yadav stated that BRSV student leaders are actively explaining the potential losses to Telangana due to Banakacherla in every college, using the distributed pamphlets. 'We will mainly discuss Banakacherla at the conference on Saturday. We will explain how Chandrababu, Modi, and Revanth Reddy are collectively looting Telangana's water resources. We are organising this conference to sound the alarm on Banakacherla,' Yadav asserted.
Former MLA Gadari Kishore Kumar alleged that Chandrababu is conspiring over the waters of the Godavari River, noting that central institutions have already rejected the Banakacherla project. Former MLA B Suman further alleged a lack of development under Congress rule, claiming that the current administration is 'mortgaging Telangana's interests as Gurudakshina to his guru Chandrababu by going to Delhi.'
He reiterated claims that Chandrababu and Revanth Reddy are conspiring to divert Godavari River water to the Banakacherla project. Former MLA Nomula Bhagat, Chirumalla Rakesh Kumar, Anjaneya Goud, Dharmender Reddy, Tungabalu, Kadari Swami Yadav, and Krishna were also present.

Phone-Tapping Rampant Under Revanth Reddy, Alleges Opposition Leader
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar has lodged a formal complaint with the police levelling serious allegations against Telangana's Congress government. In the complaint, he has alleged widespread phone tapping under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's administration. Praveen Kumar was among the first to complain about his phone being tapped during the previous BRS government. He has also appeared before the Special Investigation Team that is probing the alleged phone tapping. While the SIT's primary focus has been on surveillance under the former BRS government, Praveen Kumar has used the opportunity to expand the scope of the investigation. He has claimed that the present Congress government is utilizing "high-end dark web tools" to illegally intercept the communications of its own ministers, opposition leaders, and even businessmen. He has submitted a written complaint to the SIT, reportedly including video evidence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy allegedly admitting to surveillance. Praveen Kumar cited instances where Mr Reddy reportedly knew about private conversations between ministers, later confronting one of them with the details. He questioned how such information could have been accessed without illicit phone tapping. He also alleged that a journalist was reprimanded by the Chief Minister for speaking to another BRS leader, again raising suspicions of surveillance. The BRS leader also pointed to media reports suggesting that malware had been planted on ministers' devices to intercept calls and messages. He urged the SIT to summon the affected ministers and conduct forensic examinations of their phones to uncover the truth. The complaint from Praveen Kumar adds a new dimension to the already complex phone-tapping investigation in Telangana. Previously, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had stated his willingness to cooperate with the SIT if he received a notice, emphasizing that while phone tapping itself isn't illegal, strict procedures must be followed. The BRS has been vocal in demanding a High Court-monitored inquiry into the phone-tapping allegations and has called for the government to submit a sealed list to the court detailing whose phones are being tapped. They have emphasized Section 5 of the Telegraph Act, which only permits phone tapping in the interest of national security. The SIT now faces the challenging task of investigating not only the alleged phone tapping during the previous administration, but also the fresh accusations of ongoing surveillance under the current government, making the probe even more politically charged.

Victims of Sigachi unit blast not paid compensation, says BRS leader
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao on Monday alleged that the Telangana government has failed to pay compensation to families of those who died in an explosion at Sigachi Industries Limited in Sangareddy district on June 30. He, along with relatives of some of the victims, met the Additional Collector and slammed the government for its failure to hand over the bodies of the deceased and for not paying compensation of Rs 1 crore each as announced by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Harish Rao led a protest rally by the families of the victims to the district Collector's office. The former minister said even a month after the accident at the factory in Pashamylaram industrial area, there is no clarity on the number of dead, as the bodies of eight workers have not been handed over to their families. He recalled that the Chief Minister had announced Rs 1 crore compensation each to the families of the deceased, but not even one family has received the ex gratia. Harish Rao said the families of the deceased were in mental agony as they were handed over charred body parts, which they had to immerse in the river. The BRS leader said that an accident of this scale had not happened in the history of united Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He said that though 54 people lost their lives in this tragedy, the state government's response has been most pathetic and irresponsible. He said there was no official statement about the number of dead and injured. He wanted to know why the government was hiding information about the payment made to the families of the deceased and the injured. Harish Rao said the families of the victims were running around the government offices for death certificates and compensation. They are spending Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 to travel from states like Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He said the Chief Minister had announced Rs 10 lakh each to the critically injured, but they received only Rs 50,000. Harish Rao demanded that the government pay at least Rs 50 lakh each to the critically injured and also ensure payment of monthly salaries. The BRS leader pointed out that an NGO has filed a petition in the High Court, seeking direction to the authorities to pay compensation as promised by the Chief Minister. He also alleged that the government is trying to shield the company management, though it has become clear that the accident was caused by their negligence. He claimed that Yashwant, son of a worker, Jagnmohan, who died in the accident, stated in his complaint that workers had warned the company many times that the use of old machinery could lead to disaster, but it did not pay any attention.
