Chris Pratt pays tribute to Jonathan Joss after Parks and Rec actor shot dead
Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt paid tribute to fellow co-star Jonathan Joss after he was shot dead by a neighbour. The San Antonio Police Department in Texas as well as onlookers claimed the 59-year-old King of the Hill actor got into a heated row with a neighbour on the city's south side over the weekend before he was shot.
Law enforcement told TMZ that the neighbour pulled out a gun during the argument and shot Joss several times before fleeing in a car, with the police arresting him a block away from the residence. A man called Sigfredo Alvarez-Cega was arrested and charged with murder for the horrific shooting.
Authorities released a statement at the time and wrote: "Officers were dispatched to the location for a Shooting in Progress. Once the officers arrived at the location, the victim was found near the roadway of the location. The officers attempted life saving measures until EMS arrived.
"EMS pronounced the victim deceased. Officers located the suspect who shot the victim and detained him. The suspect was transported to Headquarters for further investigation and then booked for murder. The investigation is still ongoing.
Following the news of his death, Parks and Rec star Chris took to his Instagram Stories to share a screengrab of the heartbreaking news.
"Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude. He played Ken Hotate in Parks and was also in Mag 7. Said to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones," he captioned the post.
Fans also paid tribute to the actor, with one writing on social media: "This is absolutely devastating news. Jonathan Joss was such a talented actor, and his iconic roles brought so much joy to so many. What a tragic loss."
Another devastated fan commented: "It absolutely shatters my heart to learn of the passing of Jonathan Joss, known and loved by many fans as the voice, heart, spirit, and soul of the character John Redcorn.
"He made a point to be involved in the fandom, and was so kind to all of us. He will never be forgotten!"
Joss' husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, released a statement on the actor's official Facebook page claiming the argument began when the couple were checking the mail "at the site of our former home".
"When the man fired, Jonathan pushed me out of the way," he said. "He saved my life. Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds.
"We picked Valentine's Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future," Gonzales posted before adding he was with Joss when he passed and 'told him how much he was loved.'

Kelly Osbourne shares sweet 'best ever' moment with dad Ozzy days after death
Kelly Osbourne continues to mourn the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, and took to social media to share a sweet moment between the pair that was labelled "one of the best Ozzy moments ever' As the world comes to terms with the tragic death of Ozzy Osbourne, his daughter Kelly Osbourne has shared one of her favourite moments with her iconic dad. In an Instagram upload, the 40-year-old shows off the father and daughter duo enjoying a touching moment in a post labelled: "One of the best Ozzy moments ever!" The clip was reshared on Kelly's Instagram Stories and showed the family members enjoying a road trip together. In the upload, which came from realityTV show Jack & Ozzy's World Detour, Kelly takes to the driver's seat of the huge campervan. As Ozzy enters and sits in the passenger seat, wearing his usual dark attire, Kelly tells him she has a "song in my head and I'm going to have to play it for you". The Prince of Darkness appears intrigued as his daughter sets up the song. While Ozzy is strapping himself in for the ride, George Ezra's tune Paradise begins playing over the vehicle's speakers. Kelly begins singing along as her dad listens intently. After a short while it appears as though the tune has caught the Black Sabbath man's attention as he begins to dance and bounce in his seat. Beaming a sweet smile in Kelly's direction as she continues to sing the pair are then seen in a cute moment as they both dance together on the journey, copying each other's hand movements. The clip ends with Kelly heard telling her dad she loves him. "I love you more," he sweetly responds. Ozzy died earlier in the week aged 76 after a battle with Parkinson's disease. Days after his death was announced, Kelly broke her social media silence with a heartbreaking comment. In her upload, she described the rock legend as "the best friend I ever had". The father and daughter were inseparable, with Kelly staying by her father's side during his final days. Just two days before his death, she shared a heartwarming video of the musician and his grandson - her young son - at the breakfast table. Kelly wrote on Instagram: "I feel so unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had." The reference is a line from his hit tune Changes. In 2003, Kelly and Ozzy re-recorded the track together. The song was co-written by Ozzy with his bandmates and was first released by Black Sabbath in 1972. Kelly's version with her dad revised the lyrics to reflect her bond with her dad. The song was a No. 1 hit in the U.K., and they became just the second father-daughter pair to top the charts, after Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1967. A source shared with People about Ozzy's last moments. They said: "Ozzy's final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace."

Rio Ferdinand claps back at trolls on wife Kate's bikini pictures
Rio Ferdinand has stepped in to defend his wife Kate after she was criticised for sharing holiday pictures that featured her in a bikini. The TV personality and influencer shared a carousel of photos from recent family time abroad on Saturday morning. 'July has been full of memories (& food) in our home from home,' she captioned the post, which included pictures of her and her husband holding hands outside a front door, a spread of tasty-looking food, time hanging out on the beach together and the family jumping into the pool together. Naturally for someone enjoying a holiday abroad in the sun, Kate was seen in swimwear – and her choices were olive green and black bikinis. Among pictures and videos Kate had shared playing with her kids, she'd also shared a happy selfie, wearing orange-tinted sunglasses, from a towel lying out on the grass in the shade. In another picture, she'd snapped a classic bathroom selfie while in her black bikini, her hair wet from swimming. 'Don't think you need to show in a bikini [sic.],' observed Brenda Weaver in the comments section. It's not clear which photo had offended her, but Rio was having none of it. Within minutes of her posting the remark, Rio had responded: '@brendaweav1 ffs Brenda have a day off 😘' Softening the retort with an emoji but not mincing his words earned both Rio and Kate an avalanche of support with the former footballer's comment garnering 1,247 likes alone. 'Why not? She looks sensational 😍 xx,' added @kellyannw1980. '@rioferdy5 😂😂😂 Tell dem,' responded @may_yomi10. The 46-year-old pundit and ex-England captain and his wife, 34, share five kids together. Son Cree came along in December 2020, while daughter Shae turned two just days ago. Kate is also step-mum to Rio's teenage kids Lorenz, 19, Tate, 16 and 14-year-old Tia, whom he had with late wife Rebecca Ellison. Rebecca tragically died of breast cancer in May 2025, aged just 34. Kate demonstrated her sweet relationship with the teenagers after Tate left two hearts in the comments of her post. 'Omg! You commented on my picture. Must be my lucky day!! 🤣,' she responded to the footballer with Brighton & Hove Albion FC's U18 team. She had also previously shared a snap of her taking a photo of Tia in a summery outfit outdoors – with her face covered by a yellow heart emoji – on her Instagram Stories, joking: 'Hey, I'm Kate, Tia's personal photographer.' In April it was reported that Rio and Kate are eyeing up a move to Dubai – which was likely where they were spending their down time in July. More Trending It's where the couple first met while Kate was on holiday in 2016, being introduced through a mutual friend, before they got together in 2017 and married in Turkey in September 2019. The Sun reported that they were 'seriously considering being based out in the Gulf' and had already started looking at possible homes and schools. 'They love the lifestyle and sunny weather and have lots of friends out there. It's a very safe place for families and offers a healthy lifestyle, which suits them well,' a source told the publication. 'It holds a special place in their hearts as that's where they met and both could easily travel back and forth for their work commitments in the UK.' Got a story? Maura Higgins sparks concern as she asks for help with painful health issue
Love Island star Maura Higgins asked her fans for their help as she admitted she was suffering severe pain and couldn't find the time to see a specialist Maura Higgins sparked concerns with her fans after admitting she was struggling with a health condition. The reality TV star took to Instagram to seek advice from her followers after admitting that her knee is "killing her" and that it felt like it was pulsing. Maura, 34, was seen posing for a selfie with no makeup on and clutching what appeared to be a matcha drink in her hand as he sought assistance from her fans. The Love Island star wrote, "Don't have the time right now to see a specialist, but if anyone has any recommendations for something I can buy to stop my knee from KILLING please DM me. It feels like there's a pulse inside of it & it's also on running around with the house move has not helped it. (yes my greys are out too, no time for that either." The update comes after Maura has had a busy week after moving into her £1.25million five-bedroom dream home in Essex. Maura has earned an estimated £3.2 million in the years since she found fame on the ITV dating show back in 2019. And she has splashed the cash on a luxury new home - snapping up a five-bedroom property in the south east of England. The semi-detached house boasts an impressive garden and has huge, floor to ceiling windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood in. But it seems Maura will need to splash a little more money - as it appears she has little to no furniture in her grand new home. Nonetheless, the TV star shared news that she has moved into the dream home this weekend. On Sunday, the reality star took to Instagram Stories to share a couple of snaps from inside her new pad. She shared a photo from her kitchen looking out to her garden with a vase of flowers, candles, and a bottle of wine visible in the foreground. She wrote alongside the image: "After the busiest few months.... she's finally in." She added a house emoji and a padlock and key emoji - showing she is now a proud home owner. She shared a second snap showing professional hairdresser Carl Bembridge perched on the top of a kitchen surface and scrolling on his phone. Maura captioned this image, writing: "No chairs yet but he always finds something to sit on." Maura's happy home photos come just a couple of months after she was caught kissing married pop star Danny Jones at an afterparty for the 2025 Brit Awards. The Love Island star and the McFly guitarist sparked controversy as their flirty behaviour was captured despite the fact he has been married to model Georgia Horsley since 2014. Fans blasted Maura and Danny over the scandal and Danny eventually addressed the controversy, issuing a grovelling public apology online. He wrote: "Hello everyone, sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me. "I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately. I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny." Meanwhile, Maura has remained silent on the matter.
