Time Out02-05-2025
For a festival born and bred in Canberra, Spilt Milk has done pretty well for itself. The regional-ish Aussie music bash expanded to Ballarat in 2019, the Gold Coast in 2022, and Perth in 2023, establishing itself as Australia's largest touring day music festival. After a hiatus in 2024, Spilt Milk has announced its highly anticipated return in December 2025, with all four cities once again primed to become the fertile ground for some real dance floor action.
Every year, Spilt Milk delivers a slick line-up of international hitmakers – and this year is no different, with hip-hop legend Kendrick Lamar headlining the festival alongside US rap goddess Doechii (who will make her Aussie debut). As always, the fun goes beyond the stage, with immersive activations like rowdy country bars, jolly sing-alongs, empowering art exhibitions and a pumping party bus.

Friends outraged after Airbnb host cancels booking because of where they're from

Airbnb said they suspended the host and are now investigating the matter after pals Jemma Louise Gough, 38, and Jamie Lee Watkins, 37, were denied a stay in Manchester Two pals who booked a trip to Manchester for a concert were left "gobsmacked" after being denied an Airbnb stay simply because they were "from Wales". ‌ Jemma Louise Gough, 38, and Jamie Lee Watkins, 37, had been planning to travel from Cwmbran, South Wales, to see Australian music DJ Sonny Fodera perform at Co-op Live in November. But when they tried to book the one-night stay at a private property in the city, their reservation was abruptly declined. The pair, who wrote on the listing that they were coming 'from Wales to see the gig', were left baffled and politely messaged the host to ask why. The response came back bluntly: "Because you're from WALES." ‌ ‌ Jemma, a school support officer and mum-of-two, said the message left her stunned. "My mouth hit the floor – nothing else other than 'because you're from Wales'. It was nothing about us going to the concert or whatever, it was just discrimination of the country. We're amazing people, the Welsh are lush. I don't know what me and my friend - or the whole of Wales - did that's so horrible. It's absolutely horrendous." It comes after another Brit abroad slammed an all-inclusive hotel food, asking 'what on earth is this?' Jamie asked the host for further explanation as to why they'd had their booking rejected, saying it was 'discrimination under the Equality Act 2010'. She said her message was read, but received no response. Registered nurse Jamie, who attempted to make the booking through her account, said: "I just thought, 'oh my gosh, how can you say no just because I'm from Wales?'. Se added: "It was really blunt, just one line: because you are from, in capitals, Wales. What difference does that make? I was just a bit shocked really that people still say things like that. If [they] had said 'I don't want people going to concerts and coming back if they'd had a drink or something, I'd be like yeah, okay, that's fine. That's an explanation." An Airbnb spokesperson said: "Discrimination, including on the basis of nationality, has no place on Airbnb. As soon as this report was brought to our attention, we reached out to the guest to provide our support and suspended the host while we investigate this matter."

Chris shared a photo of them in a kitchen together, with Jojo leaning into his cheek as he put his arm around her. On Jojo's story, she shared a snap of them on the sofa together, with Chris asleep on her chest. "Happy national girlfriends day to me," she wrote on the snap. "Lucky lucky girl I am." The new photos came on the same day that Jojo's ex, Kath Ebbs, went public with their new romance. The non-binary star shared photobooth pics kissing Australian footballer Tilly Lucas-Rodd. "The rumours are true! YES I still (stupidly) believe in love!! 🚀" they wrote. Kath and Jojo were dating for four months before Jojo's stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house, with the DJ giving their full support of Jojo as she entered. However, things got complicated when fans became aware of how close Chris and Jojo were becoming, often sleeping in bed together and having a tactile friendship. Flying over to reunite with Jojo at the final, the pair awkwardly broke up at the wrap party when Kath confronted their girlfriend about what they'd seen. Chris Hughes reveals baby plans with JoJo Siwa as 'besotted' hunk gushes over new love Chris and Jojo remained friends after leaving the house, but in the space of a few weeks admitted their relationship had become a romance. Since then, the pair have been backing and forthing between Los Angeles and Essex to spend as much time as possible together. However, they've been forced to fend off trolls who have questioned their romance, branding their 10-year age gap 'creepy' and criticising Jojo, who had come out as gay four years prior. But Chris has defended their romance, telling The Sun: "Meeting Joelle [Jojo's real name] gave me this magical feeling. She is the most precious person. 'Life has an unexpected way of bringing two people together, and this feels like that. We were meant to cross paths. "We keep saying to each other it was serendipity. Life handed me a blessing in my lap.' 6 Starting as friends, Jojo and Chris came clean about their romance back in May Credit: itsjojosiwa/Instagram 6 Kath Ebbs has now gone public with their new romance after splitting from Jojo Credit: Instagram

Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell shares huge update on rumoured celebrity line-up

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has now added more weight to the rumours that former Neighbours star Stefan Dennis is joining the popular BBC dancing competition With just weeks until Strictly Come Dancing hits our screens once again, the rumour mill has gathered even more momentum as the celebrity line-up has become a subject of discussion among fans. And now, professional dancer Dianne Buswell has added more fuel to the rumours after lifting the lid on one person in particular, who may be joining this year's line-up. ‌ Step forward Australian actor Stefan Dennis, who is famed for his role as Paul Robinson in Neighbours. So far, it has been suggested that Stefan, former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, Stacey Solomon and former Coronation Street Helen Flanagan will be taking to the dancefloor this year. This comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response. ‌ ‌ While on her podcast Winning Isn't Everything, which she co-hosts with her dance partner from last year Chris McCausland, she let slip that she had heard Stefan was joining the BBC show. When asked by Chris who will be donning the infamous sequinned outfits, she responded saying: "I have no idea, Chris!" However, she hen continued: "I heard that there's going be someone from Neighbours, which would be sick! I would love to dance with an Aussie!" Chris replied: "I loved Neighbours when I was younger." ‌ Dianne went on to say: "That's what I've heard. Someone told me this. Was it you, actually? No, you didn't tell me. "Someone told me, 'Oh, word on the street is there's a guy from Neighbours that's gonna be in it'. And I was like, 'Oh, that would be sick! That would be so cool!'". Not realising the level of popularity associated with Paul in the UK, she asked Chris: "Is he a big deal? Was he popular?" ‌ Over the years, the BBC have done their best to freshen up the professional dancers line-up. And this year, the broadcaster confirmed that Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, and Luba Mushtuk, will be taking to the dancefloor for the show. In addition, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Michelle Tsiakkas, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Nikita Kuzmin and Vito Coppola will also be dancing on Strictly this year, too. ‌ Along with the more established dancers, two newcomers will also join the professional dancers; So You Think You Can Dance champion Alexis Warr and Australia's Dancing With The Stars' Julian Caillon. Last month, lead judge Shirley Ballas was confirmed to be resuming her role alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke. Appearing on This Morning Shirley said: "What I can tell you is, we have two fabulous professionals coming and joining the show. They are amazing really. We've got some little changes there that you're going to be really surprised about, every year they make those few little changes and it's really, really, really amazing."
