
Runaway cow recaptured after six-hour operation in KK
Published on: Fri, Jun 06, 2025 Text Size: A still from the recapturing operation video. - Social media KOTA KINABALU: A sacrificial cow that escaped in Kingfisher Sulaman on Thursday night was recaptured after a six-hour operation, Info X reported. The cow, which broke loose at around 8pm, could not be subdued by its owner and residents due to its aggressive behaviour.
Advertisement Kota Kinabalu Civil Defence Force (APM) officers were called in and arrived at midnight to assist in the capture. Six officers, equipped with PPE and rope tools, managed to restrain the 300kg bull with help from the community at 2.16am. Driver dies, teen injured in Ranau crash

RANAU: A 42-year-old man died and another was injured after the Perodua Kancil they were travelling in collided with a palm fruit-laden lorry along KM45 of the Ranau-Telupid Road on Sunday. The Fire and Rescue Department said the car, believed to be heading towards Ranau, had veered into the opposite lane before the crash at about 1.15pm. The driver, Sylvester Pius Gulmit, was confirmed dead while receiving treatment at the Paginatan Health Clinic. His 18-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries, including scratches and bruises. Russia says 291 Ukrainian drones downed
MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russian air defence units downed 291 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Sunday. "Air defence systems downed two guided aircraft bombs, three projectiles of Czech-made Vampire multiple rocket launch systems and 291 fixed-wing drones," the ministry said on its Telegram channel. LAHAD DATU: Marine police have uncovered a crude palm oil (CPO) misappropriation syndicate worth RM2.29 million after raiding an illegal storage facility at Batu 15 along Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan. Sabah Region Four Marine Police Commander ACP Mohd Nazri Ibrahim said the raid on July 25 at 12.50pm led to the discovery of 77,590kg of CPO. Officers also seized two trucks, a van, and an oil storage tank during the operation. Five Malaysians and a foreign national, aged between 20 and 53, were detained to assist with investigations under the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Regulations 2005.
