There's something beautifully unhinged about watching a former NFL All-Pro center transform into a part-time bartender, part-time entertainer and full-time legend all in the name of charity. Jason Kelce's annual fundraising extravaganza in Sea Isle City has evolved from a simple celebrity bartending gig into what can only be described as organized chaos with a heart of gold.

The retired Eagles icon has perfected the art of turning philanthropy into performance art, creating an event that somehow manages to be both completely ridiculous and deeply meaningful. This year's edition at Ocean Drive proved that Kelce has no intention of toning down his approach to charitable giving, much to the delight of Eagles fans who descended on the Jersey Shore town like a green-clad invasion force.
This year's event delivered spectacle in spades, with Kelce making his grand entrance in American flag shorts that lasted all of thirty seconds before he dramatically ripped them off to reveal a matching patriotic Speedo underneath. The crowd erupted as he climbed a lifeguard chair, fully embracing the absurd theatrics that have become his trademark.
What sets Kelce's fundraising approach apart isn't just his willingness to embrace the absurd—it's his understanding that authentic connection trumps polished presentation every time. Current and former players showed their bartending skills, including Cooper DeJean, Sydney Brown and Connor Barwin, proving they're not just making appearances—they're genuinely engaging with the community that supported them throughout their careers.

Kelce's genius lies in recognizing that people are more likely to open their wallets when they're genuinely enjoying themselves. The Eagles Autism Foundation has benefited enormously from this philosophy, with the Shore Birds events raising more than $1.4 million since 2021. The foundation's work resonates particularly strongly with attendees, many of whom have personal connections to autism spectrum disorders. The event has become an annual pilgrimage for Eagles faithful, representing something larger than just successful fundraising—it's a celebration of community and the idea that doing good doesn't have to be serious business.
Jason Kelce may be retired from football, but he's still anchoring the city of Philadelphia—this time from a beach bar, in a Speedo, for a cause that continues to change lives.

Nationals' bullpen sputters, then spirals in the seventh against Angels
ANAHEIM, Calif. — For Eduardo Salazar, escape and catharsis were just a pitch away in the seventh inning Saturday. Twice. One more pitch past Los Angeles Angels rookie Christian Moore, and the Washington Nationals could have entered the final two frames with the score knotted. And after Moore turned on his fastball above the zone for the go-ahead run, Salazar still had a chance to get a pitch past Angels shortstop Kevin Newman that would have kept Washington in the game.

Galaxy play the Earthquakes to a 1-1 draw in the 104th California Clásico
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Marco Reus scored in the 70th minute and the LA Galaxy played the San Jose Earthquakes to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night in the 104th edition of the California Clásico. LA (1-14-5) is unbeaten in its last eight road matches (Stanford Stadium & PayPal Park) across all competitions against San Jose (7-8-5) dating to June 26, 2021. San Jose native Beau Leroux opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a shot into the upper-right corner for his fourth of the season. He settled Mark-Anthony Kaye's cross with his left foot and curled in a shot with his right from the top of the 18-yard box. San Jose goalkeeper Daniel stopped an initial attempt in the 70th, but it bounced right back to Reus for an easy touch home. It was Reus' first game wearing the captain's armband. Daniel made several key saves. He came out of his area to deny Joseph Paintsil on a one-on-one opportunity in the 60th. He algo got a hand on Gabriel Pec's shot on a counterattack in the 88th. The Galaxy entered with just three of a possible 33 points on the road this season. San Jose announced the club sold 40,000 tickets for the game at Stanford Stadium. ___ AP soccer:

Arizona Cardinals named one of NFL's most interesting teams in 2025
Bleacher Report named the eight most interesting teams in the NFL. See where the Cardinals are ranked. The Arizona Cardinals want to be relevant in 2025. They led the NFL West last season after 10 weeks but lost five of their final seven games. They made big moves on defense in the offseason. Now they hope to get over the hump and make the postseason. It should make for an interesting season, and Bleacher report agrees. Naming the eight most interesting teams in the NFL entering this season, the Cardinals come in at No. 5. Arizona Cardinals 5th most interesting team in 2025 The Cardinals doubled their win total from four in 2023 to eight in 2024 before continuing their rebuild with the addition of several potential immediate-impact defenders, including key draft picks Walter Nolen III and Will Johnson. Meanwhile, on offense, they're praying that veteran quarterback Kyler Murray stays healthy and takes another big step forward with shiny sophomore receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and revelation tight end Trey McBride. This team would still likely have its work cut out for it in tougher divisions, but the 49ers are dealing with substantial losses after a disastrous season and the Rams and Seahawks are fringe contenders at best. Arizona could easily be positioned to make a surprise run at the NFC West crown and could even be a potential playoff spoiler. And at the very least, I'd expect to see plenty of fireworks in Cards games in 2025. Here's how I see it. They were a "good" bad team in 2023 and won four games. They were the definition of mediocre last season, losing to playoff teams and beating almost everyone they faced who didn't make the postseason. They won eight games and had a bad defense and pretty good offense, albeit inconsistent. Their talent on defense is significantly better and the offense should continue to be good. If the defense is better (it will be), they will win more games. And they could have made the playoffs last year. The Cardinals will certainly be an interesting team to watch in 2025.
