Tokyo Reported13 hours ago

OSAKA (TR) – A man on trial here for forcing a high school girl into prostitution whereby she served more than 100 men last year has admitted to the allegations, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 21).
Based on the opening of the trial held at the Osaka District Court on June 17, Kaito Takimoto, 26, formed a group that forced two high school girls into prostitution, a scheme under the name 'Enjo Kosai Delivery Health,' which means a form of compensated dating.
According to the prosecution's opening statement, one of the two girls was forced to have sex with at least 109 men over a 10-day period while traveling by car around Tohoku and other areas. The defendant coerced the other to have sex with at least 28 men over a 5-day period in Hokuriku.
Takimoto stands accused of violating the Anti-prostitution Law and the Child Welfare Law.
During the trial, Takimoto admitted to the charges. During questioning, he claimed to have held a 'supportive' attitude toward the high school girls.
Kaito Takimoto (X) 'I didn't realize they were underage'
The girls were recruited from the 'Gurishita' area, whose name is a reference to the popular meeting place under ( shita ) the popular Glico advertisement in downtown Osaka City.
After offering prostitution roles to the girls, the group members posed as women on dating sites to secure male customers.
The year before, Takimoto was introduced to a job at another sex business by an acquaintance. It turned out to be a similar illegal prostitution ring.
The defendant explained to the court that the ring was run by 'half-gangsters' and decided to 'go independent' after he had heard complaints from the women. 'I had to be with them'
Takimoto also said that he had spent his childhood with his grandmothers, not his parents. He compared his own situation to that of the high school girls, who had run away from home. 'I understood how they felt,' he said, 'and I felt I had to be with them. I didn't realize they were underage.'
He knew the girls had said they had 'at least reached their limit.' But he explained, 'I didn't force them, I just told them to keep going at a pace that they could continue.' He also explained, 'They said they wanted to work because they needed money to rent a place.' He argued that the prostitution was carried out at the girls' wishes.
However, the prosecution pointed out that the defendants received 'the majority of the compensation.' They collected between 15,000 yen and 20,000 yen per session. However, the two victims earned a total of only 2.2 million yen.
The prosecution seeking a prison sentence of two and a half years and a fine of 300,000 yen, citing 'despicable and vicious crimes.' In its closing remarks the prosecution said the defendant 'controlled and used the girls as tools to make money.'
Takimoto said, 'I'm sorry. It was the girls who suffered the most.' The defendant, who occasionally choked up in the courtroom as he expressed his regret and utter his apology for the crimes, will be sentenced by the court on July 2.

Yakuza suspected of attempting to blackmail elderly man in Kabukicho

Yakuza suspected of attempting to blackmail elderly man in Kabukicho TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a member of a criminal syndicate over the alleged attempted blackmail of an elderly man in the Kabukicho red-light district, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 27). At around 9:00 p.m. on February 28, Osamu Saito, a 58-year-old senior member in the Kyokuto-kai, allegedly struck the man, aged in his 80s, in the chest on a street in Kabukicho. 'Give me back 5.94 million yen,' Saito reportedly said. 'Don't mess with me.' Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted blackmail, Saito declined to comment. 'There's no doubt that I met the male victim on the streets of Kabukicho, but I'll think about why we met and talk about it later,' he said. According to police, the man borrowed a total of 5.6 million yen from Saito at a monthly interest rate of 20 percent in 2021 and April 2022 at the request of an acquaintance. Further, he became a guarantor for the acquaintance who owed Saito 30 million yen in October 2023. When repayments were in arrears, Saito unilaterally set higher interest repayment amounts, saying it was a 'penalty.' The man repaid a total of more than 24 million yen in over 90 installments between May 2023 and February 2025, police said. Earlier this year, the suspect forced him to draw up a I.O.U. that read, 'Payment due March 6, 2025.' The man consulted with police on March 11.

Tokyo cops close investigation into commercial sex scouting group

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Thursday announced that they have closed a special investigation in huge scouting group Access. The group is believed to have referred nearly 80,000 women to sex businesses over a five-year period, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 26). In January, police opened the special investigation headquarters into Access. In justifying its closure, police said that a certain degree of progress had been made in clarifying and dismantling the group. Police also announced the re-arrest of the group's leader, 34-year-old Kazuma Endo. In the latest allegations, police say that Endo received a total of approximately 120 million yen in criminal proceeds from the operation between February and November of last year. The proceeds include referral fees, called 'scoutbacks,' from commercial sex businesses. To conceal the transfer of money, concealed cash was sent via postal mail on approximately 480 occasions to a 'virtual office.' Kazuma Endo (X) Regarding his re-arrest for violating the Organized Crime Punishment Act for concealment of criminal proceeds, he has remained silent. Law enforcement considers Access to be an anonymous, mobile crime group ( tokuryu ). The group included about 300 members with access to around 1,800 sex businesses across the country. Over a five-year period starting in 2019, the group is believed to have referred around 78,000 women to sex businesses nationwide and received approximately 6 billion yen in compensation. All told, police arrested a total of 12 executives and scouts during the investigations. As well, five corporations operating sex-related businesses in various regions were busted.
