Craig admits to 'illegal move' in controversial 'no contest'
Craig admits it was "an illegal move" that resulted in the fight being ruled a no contest.

The fight had been postponed from 14 weeks ago when the 29-year-old Brazilian pulled out with a cold sore - and this time it was cut short seconds before the end of round one.
"A few people have messaged me regarding this and are saying that it looked a bit floppish - like he was maybe hamming it up," said the 37-year-old Craig.
"I don't want to think any fighter is looking for an easy way out in this sport. We're all fighters, we're all in the UFC - the pinnacle of of our careers - and we're looking to put on performances. But I can see where people are looking at it and think it looks a bit floppish, like he's maybe taking a dive."
Craig admitted it was "raw at the moment" but did not want to think that might be the case.

"I was in the neutral corner, I was looking over and I was seeing him kind of flop like he was trying to wrestle the referee and he was in a daze, but when I spoke to him, he seemed pretty compos mentis and he was like, 'I don't know what happened'," he added.
"You know what, it's my fault as much as it is his fault. We shouldn't be looking to persecute him if he's taking taken the knee - it was an illegal move."
To make matters worse for Craig, he had moved back up a weight hoping to put a three-loss streak behind him in what was the final fight of his current UFC contract.
"I'm now in the best shape I've ever been in," he said. "I was wanting to make a stamp in that division and say, hey, I am back.

"I've got to take positives from it. I felt good in there and I was moving well. I was landing my shots and my shot selection was perfect.
"But, in the heat of the moment, I thought he was standing up, so I throw my axe kick, looking to land a heavy upkick to his face."
Craig pointed out that a no-contest was at least not as bad as another defeat and is hopeful of a rematch with Bellato.
If not, he is willing to go up against "any light-heavyweight the UFC offers" and believes he could even repeat his 2018 win over current champion Magomed Ankalaev if given the chance.

One Liverpool midfielder is ready to explode in pre-season after signing a new deal with the Reds. The club's preparations are now only around the corner. Next week Liverpool will begin their pre-season training sessions on the 7th July before playing their first game against Preston North End on the 13th July. His long-term contract is an indicator of just how highly he is rated at the club, after arriving at Anfield just around two years ago. Nyoni is now 18-years-old but already he has played in a number of competitions at first team level for Liverpool, including making his debut in the FA Cup, when he was still only 16-years-old. Speaking to Liverpool about his new contract, Nyoni emphasised that he was ready to prove himself: "Yeah it means a lot," he said. "Obviously supporting the club from young as well. So it's a great feeling but obviously now I have to go out there and show why I've earned this contract." Advertisement These are really encouraging words from a player who is still really young. Let's not forget at the same age Nyoni is now, Steven Gerrard had not even made a single appearance for Liverpool's first team. On the other hand, Nyoni has six games under his belt and has even registered an assist against Accrington Stanley. This is before we even mention the countless pre-season games he has played as well, including that volley at Anfield against Sevilla. Last season, he spent a lot of his time training and learning from the first team. Minutes on the pitch were limited at senior level but it will have been a hugely beneficial campaign for him regardless. Based on his words, he is clearly ready to explode. Whether that will be in the first team or out on loan, remains to be seen.

In football contracts, end on June 30th for the previous season. That's why for example Trent Alexander-Arnold had to be bought out from his contract by Real Madrid, as he would have only officially become a Real Madrid player on July 1st. Liverpool brought him out for that contract and signed an agreement with him which officially begins on July 1st. That is at the time of writing on Tuesday, meaning Mamardashvili has finally completed his move to the Reds. He's now a Liverpool player. And in the Georgian goalkeeper, the Reds have secured one of the best young talents in his position. Someone who is more than capable of replacing Kelleher and also fighting for the no.1 spot against Alisson Becker. That's certainly the case according to former Dinamo Tbilisi scout, Mikha Gabechava, who told Anfield Watch he believes Mamardashvili is already 'one of the best in the world.'
