Oasis Live '25 setlist: All the songs on Britpop band's reunion tour

USA Todaya day ago
It took 15 years, but Noel and Liam Gallaher sidelined their acrimony to share a stage again.
The long-awaited Oasis Live '25 reunion tour kicked off July 4 at Cardiff Principality Stadium in Wales almost a year after the band announced, 'This is it, this is happening.'
For two hours and 23 songs, fans of the Britpop superstars reveled in hearing throwbacks spanning Oasis' illustrious seven-album history, from their 1994 debut, 'Definitely Maybe,' to 2008's 'Dig Out Your Soul.'
Many songs played, including the opening "Hello," with a hoodie-clad Liam assuming his position with hands clasped behind his back and Noel slashing away at his guitar in his typical workman's shirt uniform, haven't been performed since 2002.
Other fan favorites such as "Cigarettes & Alcohol," "Roll With It" and "Live Forever" brought grown men in the stadium crowd to tears, so happy were they to finally hear these songs again.
The band anchored by the tempestuous Gallagher brothers split in 2009 when guitarist Noel said he could no longer work with singer Liam.
Now, they're embarking on a sold-out, 41-date stadium run that will play throughout the U.K., North America, Asia, Australia and South America until November with band members Andy Bell (bass), Gem Archer (guitar), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs for the first time since 1998 (guitar) and newcomer to the band Joey Waronker (drums).
The North American jaunt kicks off Aug. 24 in Toronto and will also hit Chicago, East Rutherford, New Jersey and Pasadena, California, with Cage the Elephant opening all dates.
Here are the songs Oasis played on opening night.

Oasis pay tribute to Diogo Jota during 'Live Forever' in first concert in 16 years

Oasis kicked off their reunion tour Friday night in Cardiff, Wales and paid tribute to the late Diogo Jota, who was killed in a car crash in Spain along with his brother, André Silva, on Thursday. As the band finished their performance of "Live Forever," projectors behind the stage displayed an image of Jota from behind in his No. 20 Liverpool jersey. That drew a loud ovation from the sold-out crowd inside Principality Stadium. Oasis frontmen, Liam and Noel Gallagher, are noted fans of Manchester City, Liverpool's Premier League rivals. Take it easy, brother," Power said. Two of Diogo Jota's Liverpool teammates, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson arrive for Saturday's funeral. The Spanish Civil Guard confirmed that the car they were in went off the road near Zamora, Spain. The Lamborghini was found in flames and firefighters were called in to prevent the flames from spreading. Investigators are unsure who was driving the car, and are looking into whether a blown tire led to the crash, which occurred shortly after midnight local time. Advertisement The brothers' bodies were returned to Portugal on Thursday and a wake was held in Gondomar on Friday. Members of the football world, including many current and former teammates were in attendance during Saturday's funeral. Tributes from around the world continued for the brothers in the days after the crash. Portugal teammates João Cancelo and Rúben Neves were in Orlando for the FIFA Club World Cup and were emotional when a moment of silence took place before their match with Al-Hilal against Fluminense on Friday. At Wimbledon, Portuguese tennis players Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral wore black ribbons during their individual matches on Friday. The All-England Club has a strict all-white dress code for players, but Borges and Cabral were given special permission to wear the ribbons.

Iconic '90s Rock Band Hated Their Biggest Hit — 'Every Time I Sing It, I Want to Gag'

Iconic '90s Rock Band Hated Their Biggest Hit — 'Every Time I Sing It, I Want to Gag' originally appeared on Parade. Oasis released a song in 1995 that became one of the most iconic tracks of the decade — and one of the most dreaded in guitar stores. 'Wonderwall' is famously banned in many guitar shops, not by official policy, but as an inside joke among guitarists and employees. The song's simple chords and massive popularity have made it a go-to for beginners, which means it's been played badly, countless times. For store workers, hearing it on loop for years has made it almost unbearable. But no one seems to hate the song more than Liam Gallagher himself. 'Every time I have to sing it, I want to gag,' he reportedly told MTV News. 'Problem is, it was a big, big tune for us. You go to America and they're like: 'Are you Mr. Wonderwall?' You want to chin someone.' Liam's scorn for the song wasn't lost on the rest of the band — especially his brother and bandmate Noel Gallagher, who remembered how strongly Liam pushed back against it. 'He hated 'Wonderwall'. He said it was trip-hop,' Noel told Mojo. 'There speaks a man who's never heard trip-hop.' While Liam had little interest in the track, Noel knew it had the potential to become something big. 'I was so f--ked off with him walking off stage and me having to take over and do the gig,' Noel recalled. 'I remember thinking, if I'm going to do this, I want a big f--king song to sing.' That song ended up being "Wonderwall." According to Noel, Liam had his heart set on singing 'Don't Look Back in Anger,' but it quickly became clear that 'Wonderwall' would be the breakout hit. The Gallagher brothers' rocky relationship has long been part of the band's story. While Oasis found huge success after their album (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, tension behind the scenes only grew. By 2009, the band had officially split — and the brothers reportedly weren't even on speaking terms. 'The legacy of the band is set in stone,' Noel later told The Project TV show. 'If people have seen us, they'll understand what all the fuss is about. If you didn't see us, then that's tough cos I've never seen The Beatles or the Sex Pistols.' However, after more than 15 years apart, things have changed. 'The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised,' the band wrote in a surprise announcement. Oasis is officially reuniting on Friday, July 4, with their first stop in the Welsh capital. The tour will continue across the UK throughout the summer.
