The 36-year-old British rocker, who was sipping on a Guinness and smoking a cigarette while on stage at the iconic Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset, made a cheeky toast to himself.
'What this moment is making me realize is that I probably am the best,' Healy told the crowd, raising his glass. 'I'm probably the best songwriter of my generation. He continued, "I'm not trying to be too earnest, but you can go out into the world and there's loads of politics everywhere. We don't need more politics. We need more love and friendship.'
The band has often found itself at the center of controversy, especially after Healy made headlines for kissing various band members and audience members mid-performance, including at Malaysia's Good Vibes Festival in 2023.
At that time, Healy spoke out against the country's anti-LGBTQ laws and then kissed his bandmate MacDonald on the lips.
The act led to the festival being canceled and the band being banned from Malaysia.
The band's most recent album, "Being Funny in a Foreign Language," was released in 2022 to critical acclaim.
