Jon Stewart spoofs Elmo's X account getting hacked
After the beloved character's X account was hacked, Jon Stewart decided to have some fun with a look-alike puppet of Elmo on the 'The Daily Show' on Monday.
The talk show host reminded the audience with a photo that he had worked with the famed muppet years ago and said he was 'shocked' by the tweets.
Stewart, voicing the 'Elmo' puppet, claimed that he was hacked after someone 'guessed Elmo's password was Elmo! Elmo123. Elmo knows passwords should have more numbers, but Elmo only knows three numbers.'
Stewart soon got the 'truth,' insisting Elmo needed to take responsibility for his actions.
'It was Elmo, but Elmo was radicalized by the manosphere. Elmo is part of the male loneliness epidemic,' Stewart as the puppet said. 'Elmo was doing his own research on flu shots. Six hours later, because of the algorithm, Elmo was moderating the QAnon Discord chat and building homemade bombs.'
After Stewart reminded him of his influence on children, the muppet clapped back.
'Once again, the so-called tolerant left policing speech that's inconvenient to their woke dogma,' he said. 'Who's the real puppet now, Jon? You! You're the real puppet.'
They then got to the heart of the matter after Stewart accused the character of sharing 'alt-right talking point word salad.'
'Elmo's alt-right,' the puppet said, joking he was pandering to save funding for public broadcasting and children's education programs. 'No reason to cancel Elmo's funding then.'
President Donald Trump has encouraged Congress to revoke funding for PBS, the birthplace of 'Sesame Street,' accusing them of a liberal bias.
'Elmo can't go back on the streets, Jon! You have no idea what it's like,' Stewart said as the puppet. 'Elmo's too pretty to live under a bridge, Jon.'

She also emphasizes that she incorporated the drug into her overall health goals, rather than trying to target a specific amount to lose. After addressing her weight management issues with her doctor, she incorporated the drug into her diet and exercise routine. 'It's not about looking at the number on the scale or losing weight to fit into a dress,' she says. "I would encourage people to look at the long-term goal.' Since losing weight (though she doesn't want to share exactly how much, saying she's more focused on feeling good) Whitley is motivated to consistently eat healthier and exercise daily — even if it's only for a few minutes a day. And she's seeing results beyond the scale. 'I'll be honest, I'm enjoying tying my shoes.' Whitley says. "I have found enjoyment in travel again, I really enjoy that. Before [the weight loss], it was a little difficult, but now I'm enjoying riding a bike. [And] I find enjoyment in playing with my son." Whitley welcomed her son Joshua through adoption in 2011, and shares that prioritizing her health is important as a single parent. "I try to balance my lifestyle for him," she says. "That's why I started on this weight loss journey, so that I could feel unstuck, because I was stuck for a long time." And balance is critical, not just for health, but for her busy life as well. "It is not easy, being a mother and balancing all that. I go on tour, I do my movies, I do my television shows, but I always make a niche or time for my son," she says. "And the same way I make a niche and a time for me, and I do a healthy lifestyle so that I can be a better mother for my son. And that's really what I want to encourage everyone, that's what I want to tell everyone: To really get involved and find out how they can get a better, healthier lifestyle, to talk to their doctors so we can become better mothers." People Genuinely Cannot Believe The Trump Administration Ordered The Burning Of Enough Food To Feed 1.5 Million Kids For A Week
Remember when billionaire Elon Musk boasted about DOGE's cuts to the federal government in what he said was an attempt to rid the government of wasteful spending? Related: Well, one of those cuts dismantled foreign-aid programs, the Atlantic reports, and now, the Trump administration has ordered the burning of about 500 metric tons of soon-to-expire food meant to feed families and children in Afghanistan and Pakistan. To scale, that is enough food to feed about 1.5 million children for an entire week. However, instead of being distributed in the US or abroad, it's set to be burned. (And guess who's footing the bill?) This level of waste drew major backlash from US citizens. One person reacted, "Raise your hand if you're an American and would prefer this food be sent to the children currently being starved in Palestine." Related: Many couldn't fathom the idea of burning food when there are children who need it. "They're so 'pro life' until it comes to taking care of actual living breathing children," someone wrote. "Kids are starving & dying in Gaza & he's incinerating food," another agreed. This was a common response throughout the internet: Related: "Maga and trump are evil," people said. "The cruelty of this administration is unbelieveable," said another. Taxpayers also expressed displeasure with their money being symbolically burned with the food.
