Itoje back as Lions take no chances against ACT Brumbies
They got over the line 21-10, but coach Andy Farrell is taking no chances on Wednesday against the Brumbies, who are Australia's strongest Super Rugby side but will be without a slew of Wallabies.
The Canberra-based side were the only provincial team to beat the tourists on their last tour to Australia in 2013, upsetting Warren Gatland's side 14-12.
"In 2013 the Brumbies beat the British and Irish Lions in Canberra and this year they were the leading Australian team in Super Rugby," said Farrell.
"So we are fully aware of the challenge in front of us."
England's Itoje, who was immense in their 52-12 thrashing of the Queensland Reds, will once again be partnered by Ireland's Joe McCarthy in the second row.
The front row boasts England loosehead Ellis Genge and Ireland pair Dan Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong at hooker and tighthead.
Jack Conan gets a chance No.8, with English duo Tom Curry and Ollie Chessum making up the back row.
Ireland's Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose form a familiar partnership in the centres, with Scotland's Blair Kinghorn at fullback and England's Tommy Freeman and Ireland's James Lowe on the wings.
There was no room in the matchday 23 for Owen Farrell, who was controversially called up last week as injury cover after utility back Elliot Daly was ruled out of the tour with a fractured arm.

Aussie prop Tupou hopes Racing move will bring smile back
The 29-year-old, who has signed until 2028, said he had been struggling with mental health issues brought on by the pressure of international rugby. Couple with a loss of form, it resulted in the 59-time capped prop not being offered a new contract by Rugby Australia. The Tongan-born Tupou, who was schooled in New Zealand and qualified for the Wallabies through residency, showed a flash of his humour when he revealed he had spoken to Owen Farrell before deciding to join Racing. Former England fly-half Farrell left Racing to rejoin his old Premiership club Saracens in June after an underwhelming one season stay in the French capital. "I asked him if he had left all the money at Racing for me," said the tighthead who will fill the gap left by Thomas Laclayat, who joined Pau. Racing limped to 10th place in last season's Top 14 -- head coach Stuart Lancaster was fired before the end of the campaign -- and subsequently lost Farrell and scrum half Nolann Le Garrec. Aside from Tupou, Racing notably brought in England international forwards Jonny Hill and Nathan Hughes. Hill, 31, played 20 times for England while the 34-year-old Hughes has 22 caps. Wallabies' Lolesio faces long rehab after surgery
The playmaker suffered the injury during Australia's 21-18 defeat of Fiji in Newcastle on Sunday and had to be stretchered from the field. Rugby Australia said he was initially discharged from hospital on Sunday evening, but was readmitted for an operation following a further medical follow-up. The Sydney Morning Herald said he had a spinal fusion procedure. Lolesio is expected to make a full recovery and will spend "a period of time away from the game during his rehabilitation". That almost certainly rules him out of the three-Test series against the Lions starting in July 19, although officials gave no indication on how long he would be sidelined. "Firstly, we were relieved that Noah was up and moving well when he returned to the team hotel after his initial hospital visit in Newcastle on Sunday," said Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt. "Further to that, it's an added relief for everyone, especially his family, that successful surgery now has him on the road to recovery."
