Rajkummar Rao, Patralekha make FIRST appearance together after announcing pregnancy, the 'Stree' actor says, 'I'm going to be a great father'
is gearing up for the release of his film 'Maalik' but there's a bigger news on the personal front. Rajkummar and Patralekha have announced that they're expecting their first baby soon.
They shared a post on social media which said, 'Baby On The Way'. While everyone showered love and congratulatory wishes for the couple, they've now made their first public appearance together after making this announcement.
The 'Stree' actor and Patralekha were spotted together at an event together and Rajkummar can be heard saying, "I'm going to be a great father because I've been a great husband."

Meanwhile, during a chat with Hindustan Times, Rajkummar shared, "We are absolutely thrilled, to be honest.
We feel like a lot of our friends, who are parents have been telling us, that this is going to be the best phase of your life. So, we are looking forward to it. And, it's still sinking in."
He further added, "Every day is a new day. We have known each other for 15 years. We have grown up together. So, we are still sometimes like, 'what, actually, this is happening. We're going to be parents'. That being said, it is a beautiful feeling."
The actor also revealed he went to New Zealand with Patralekha while they discovered that she's pregnant. "Apart from just being us, it was our first trip with the upcoming member of our family. And that is what makes it really special," he said.

While the story mostly stands on its own, it quietly lays down the groundwork for something big upcoming. The new movie, which hit theatres on July 11, stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, aka the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Without rehashing the whole origin story, the film picks up after Superman has already landed on Earth, been raised on a Kansas farm, and is now working as a reporter at the Daily Planet. He's dating fellow journalist Lois and finds himself in deep trouble with LexCorp's billionaire CEO, Lex Luthor, who's hell-bent on taking him down for good. Here's how it all ends. Later, Lex unseals this pocket universe right over Metropolis, shaking the entire city and pushing it to the edge of collapse, right after Superman's government-sanctioned imprisonment. It's a last-ditch move to distract him while war breaks out between two fictional nations, Boravia and Jarhanpur. Maalik Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajkummar Rao's violent crime film struggles with Rs 3.35 crore, half of Superman
Rajkummar Rao has stepped into the gangster genre with his latest release, Maalik, which hit theatres this Friday. Directed by Pulkit, the film also features Manushi Chhillar, Saurabh Shukla, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Swanand Kirkire, and Saurabh Sachdeva in prominent roles. Despite the buzz around Rao's new avatar, the film opened below industry expectations. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Maalik earned Rs 3.35 crore on its opening day. The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy rate of just 12.86% on Friday. It began on a sluggish note with morning shows drawing only 6.65%. Occupancy saw minimal improvement through the afternoon (11.12%) and evening (11.78%), before rising slightly to 21.88% by night. Regionally, Chennai led the charts with 26.67% occupancy, followed closely by Lucknow (24.00%) and Jaipur (22.00%). Surprisingly, traditional strongholds like Mumbai and Delhi NCR underperformed with just 13.00% and 14.25% occupancy respectively. Maalik's opening day numbers fall short of Rajkummar Rao's previous release, Bhool Chuk Maaf, which collected Rs 7 crore on Day 1. It also trailed behind The Diplomat, the John Abraham-led political thriller, which earned Rs 4 crore on its debut. However, Maalik fared better than Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, starring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, which opened to a modest Rs 32 lakh. Adding to the pressure, Superman, another major Hollywood tentpole, released this week and collected Rs 7 crore on Day 1, nearly double the earnings of Maalik. There was significant anticipation surrounding Rajkummar Rao's foray into the gangster genre, especially in an era when many top actors are exploring action-oriented roles. However, early reviews and word-of-mouth have been mixed, with criticism directed at the film's generic storyline and lack of character depth. With a reported budget of Rs 54 crore, Maalik now faces an uphill battle at the box office. Unless it sees a dramatic turnaround in audience reception over the weekend, the film may struggle to recover its costs.
