
Man arrested following alleged ‘violent sexual assault' in Mississauga
Peel police have arrested a man after he allegedly sexually assaulted someone who was cleaning his home in Mississauga last month.
Peel Regional Police (PRP) say the victim went to the accused's home on May 6, after she was contacted to 'provide cleaning services' through an online platform.
Once inside, the victim was allegedly sexually assaulted and threatened.
PRP say investigators from the Special Victims Unit (SVU) arrested Ravinder Dhaliwal, 27, of Mississauga on May 7.
He is charged with assault, sexual assault–strangle, forcible confinement, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Dhaliwal was held for bail hearing and appeared at Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators believe there may be other victims and are urging anyone with information to contact the SVU at 905-453-2121, ext. 3460, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

A vehicle was flipped onto its side following a collision on July 3, 2025. (Submitted: Emma Valencia) Multiple vehicles were involved in a Kitchener collision on Thursday. Three youths arrested after armed bank robbery in Durham
After an armed robbery at a bank in Durham, three youths have since been arrested in connection with the incident. Police arrested a 14-year-old male from Mississauga, 17-year-old male from Mississauga and a 17-year-old male from Brampton. A fourth suspect has been identified and is in police custody. The robbery occurred on June 10 at the Northern Credit Union, when four masked males entered the bank and stole an undisclosed amount of money. One suspect was observed holding a machete, while another held a handgun. Chief of Police Jeremy White said the event was terrifying for the town. 'Holding these individuals accountable despite their young age is an important part of helping our community feel safe again,' said White.
