Mariah Carey announces new album 'Here For It All' — what we know so far
The pop icon revealed the news on social media Monday morning, sharing a brief video featuring her signature strut in spike heels and a teaser of the title track playing in the background.

The album rollout began in early June with the release of its lead single, 'Type Dangerous,' co-written and co-produced with acclaimed musician Anderson .Paak. The track, which channels Carey's classic sound, samples Eric B. & Rakim's 'Eric B. Is President' and features a cameo from YouTuber Mr. Beast in the official video. Although the full tracklist remains under wraps, Carey has hinted that the next single could be titled 'Sugar Sweet.'
In a 2024 interview with Variety, Carey shared her excitement about the new material, saying she had written several songs and was in the process of deciding which ones to include on the final album. Here For It All marks her first full-length project in seven years, following 2018's Caution, which was released through Epic Records and featured collaborations with producers like Skrillex, Mustard, No I.D., and Timbaland.
Carey's new album also marks a major career move. She is now signed to Gamma, an independent label founded in 2023 by music industry veterans Larry Jackson and L.A. Reid. According to Forbes, Reid will serve as executive producer on the album through his company Mega. 'It's a game-changing moment,' Reid said, highlighting the significance of a global superstar partnering with a self-contained indie label rather than a major record company.
With anticipation building, Here For It All promises a return to form for Carey and a new chapter in her storied career.

Josh Hutcherson's Freddy's nightmare returns bloodier, bolder, and packed with new horrors
Freddy Fazbear is back, and he's meaner than ever. The first trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has fans spiralling into panic mode, with Universal and Blumhouse teasing a darker, bloodier sequel that raises the stakes far beyond the original. The new tagline says it all: Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances. Josh Hutcherson reprises his role as Mike Schmidt, the haunted night guard who barely survived the last round. This time, survival isn't guaranteed. The returning cast includes Matthew Lillard, Elizabeth Lail, and Piper Rubio, with director Emma Tammi also back at the helm, hinting at a more expansive and terrifying world. The first instalment became Blumhouse's biggest box office hit, raking in $297 million globally. Hutcherson admitted the scale of success caught everyone off guard. 'We hoped it would connect with audiences,' he told Variety, 'But I don't think anybody expected it to explode the way it did.' And now, the stakes are even higher. Hutcherson teased in a separate interview that the sequel is much scarier, promising new animatronics and a bigger mythology. 'There's more animatronics being brought in, different animatronics being brought in, and the world just opens up in a big way,' he said. Despite its commercial success, the first film had critics divided. Some felt it didn't fully capitalise on the terrifying animatronics. Variety's own reviewer Murtada Elfadl wrote that the film 'missed the mark on both horror and hilarity.' But FNAF 2 looks intent on correcting that. The trailer delivers a chilling, pulse-pounding look at what's to come, packed with eerie corridors, flickering lights, and menacing new machines. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 opens in cinemas on December 5, and this time, there may be no way out.

Sydney Chandler cut from cover after refusing to pose with co-stars
Sydney Chandler, daughter of Emmy-winning actor Kyle Chandler, has found herself at the centre of a media storm after being removed from Variety's cover story for the upcoming FX series Alien: Earth. The move followed what insiders described as increasingly difficult behaviour during the show's press tour. According to Variety, Chandler's team informed them a day before the shoot that she would not participate in a Q&A segment alongside co-star Timothy Olyphant and showrunner Noah Hawley. The objection? She reportedly didn't want to sit down with 'two older men' for what was meant to be a playful video segment. Variety offered her alternative formats and even allowed her team to suggest questions, but nothing came of it. Chandler later cited illness to withdraw entirely. Despite attempts to reschedule, the publication ultimately cut her from the shoot. Olyphant and Hawley appeared on the cover without her. Hawley didn't hide his disappointment. 'The show is built around Sydney's character, and the work she did as a professional was tremendous,' he said. 'I'm disappointed that my female-centric show, based on a female-facing franchise, does not have my lead actress on the cover. It felt awkward to be there with Tim without her.' Chandler attempted to clarify her stance in a follow-up interview, insisting that she's 'just a private person' and 'new to press.' She claimed she was eager to discuss the series but found the press format overwhelming. The backlash was immediate. Online forums lit up with debate over whether her actions reflected unprofessionalism or a need for more respectful promotional practices. While FX has yet to issue a formal statement, the incident has already shifted focus away from the show and squarely onto Chandler herself.

‘Freakier Friday' early reactions praise Disney sequel as funny, heartfelt, and family-friendly
Disney's upcoming film Freakier Friday has received strong early reactions following its first press screenings. The sequel, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, has been praised for its emotional depth, humour, and on-screen chemistry between its leads. Entertainment journalist Jeff Conway wrote on X, 'These 22 years later, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis haven't missed a beat. Their on-screen chemistry is truly something special. A true delight that the entire family will enjoy.' He added that the film was 'double the fun' and 'twice the heart' compared to the original. Variety's Jazz Tangcay also praised the film, calling it 'an absolute riot' and noting that she both 'laughed' and 'cried' while watching. She described it as 'a great feel-good film' and highlighted the performances from Lohan and Curtis, who she said delivered 'hilarity and emotion.' Brandon Davis added that Freakier Friday was 'silly and sometimes confusing but hilarious throughout.' He said it was 'some of the most fun I've had watching a movie this year.' Set years after the original, the sequel follows Anna, now a mother, who finds herself in a four-way body swap alongside her own mother Tess, her daughter, and future stepdaughter. The body swap forces the characters to navigate misunderstandings and strengthen their evolving relationships. The cast also includes Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. The film is based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel and follows the legacy of the 2003 hit.
