Taylor Fritz and Girlfriend Morgan Riddle: A Complete Relationship Timeline

Yahoo12 hours ago
Don't delete Hinge just yet. American tennis star Taylor Fritz reportedly met his girlfriend Morgan Riddle on a dating app in 2020—and five years later, she's practically the people's princess of the tennis world, capturing the hearts of viewers as Fritz collects Olympic medals and titles on the court.
Throughout their relationship, the pair has made a concerted effort to make tennis 'cool again" in the States—and they've definitely contributed to the sport's recent surge in popularity, alongside super stars like Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka, and, of course, the impact of Zendaya's 2024 film Challengers.
While Fritz inspires on the court, Riddle's impeccable style and unapologetic attitude has made her one of the most popular WAGs in sports with around a million followers across social media platforms. 'I think that he appreciates that we both have this collective goal of bringing it to a younger crowd,' she told People in July 2023. "He does his part of it and I do mine."
That same year, The New York Times called Riddle the 'most famous woman in Men's tennis,' but what do we really know about Morgan Riddle and Taylor Fritz's ride-or-die romance? Here's their complete relationship timeline, with most recent developments up top.
July 5, 2025: Riddle highlights how they both 'serve' at Wimbledon. Yes, we're talking about her Wimbledon white dress. 'One serve, two serve,' she captioned her snaps from the day.
July 4, 2025: Riddle reminds everyone that she's cool with the WAG title. "I've always embraced the WAG thing,' she tells Harpers Bazaar. 'I knew no matter what my feelings were on it, that's what I'd be called – so I never wanted to attach anything negative to it. Instead, I wanted to shift people's perspective on the word.'
As she previously told Glamour, 'I've always had a unique perspective on the term.… Like influencer is an objective word, but because it's such a female-dominated space and associated with women, it's become negative. Same thing with WAGs. It means wives and girlfriends. I've never understood why that would be necessarily a negative thing.… But because it's associated with femininity and women, all of a sudden it's a negative thing? I've always embraced it.'

March 12, 2025: Riddle says online discourse doesn't impact her relationship with Fritz. "People write crazy things about us and our relationship," she says on The Squeeze podcast. "[But] we really love each other. We have a very healthy relationship [and] nothing that anyone says online is gonna have any sort of effect on that."
August 28, 2023: 'It's great to have somebody that can support you and support your goals," Fritz tells . "I feel like we're very much a team, and it's been great to have.'
August 4, 2023: Riddle says Fritz is too 'shy' to participate in her content too much, but that he 'appreciates' what she does for the sport. 'I think that he appreciates that we both have this collective goal of bringing it to a younger crowd. He does his part of it and I do mine,' she tells People. 'I remember when him and I first met, within the first week or two, one of the things that he told me is, 'I just want tennis to be cooler in our generation.' It's just not.'
June 2023: Riddle and Fritz aren't really able to celebrate their third anniversary. "That's one negative side is we can't really celebrate things like that or holidays or anything," Riddle later tells People of their life on the road. 'Usually we're on airplanes for Christmas. I think he had a match that day. We might have done dinner.'
The good thing? 'We travel so well together,' Riddle says. "People always ask me, 'How do you guys spend that much time in a hotel room together without wanting to rip each other's heads off?' But we get along really well, which is why I think we've been able to make it work the last couple years.'
January 13, 2023: Netflix releases season one of the Tennis documentary series Break Point, which features Fritz and Riddle. The show captures Fritz' journey to his first win against Rafael Nadal at India Wells in March 2022. You can watch it here.
July 6, 2022: Though he loses against Nadal in the Wimbledon quarter finals, Fritz says the match had a huge impact on Riddle's career as an influencer. "The big thing I remember was when I was playing Rafa [Nadal] at Wimbledon one year and they kept showing her on the camera," he tells The US Sun in February 2024. 'I think within the next day her follower account doubled.'
'So I think it's them showing her while I'm playing and then she's since then built off that really well through social media and her YouTube channel,' he continued. "She also deserves a lot of credit for how she's leveraged the attention.'
March 15, 2022: Fritz sticks up for Riddle again during a post-win press conference at India Wells. 'I think what she did was awesome for our sport," he said of the controversial TikTok video. "It got a ton of people looking at it. I think you get your typical older fan who may be upset about it. I don't understand how anyone can get upset about it. I'm the one that's a professional tennis player, I'm the one that does this for a living and I one hundred percent agree with everything in that video.'
He pointed out that coverage of the sport are reserved for a few big tournaments, but not as highlighted as other sports. 'I thought what she did was awesome,' he continued. "Regardless of the reaction, i think everyone in the tennis community can agree it's good for tennis to kind of sell almost it in sell it in a different kind of way…That she knew her audience would react to."
February 14, 2022: Fritz calls Riddle 'my favorite tennis influencer' in a Valentine's Day Instagram tribute.
February 13, 2022: Time for a red carpet debut!
February 2, 2022: Riddle faces backlash for calling tennis 'relatively uncool and unknown in America' in a TikTok video about the sport. Fritz sticks up for Riddle in the comments, writing, 'For anyone disagreeing with the fact it's 'relatively uncool in USA' let me know how often tennis is talked abt on sportscenter or espn 🤷🏻‍♂️.'
June 6, 2021: Riddle celebrates their one year anniversary with a cheeky Instagram post, saying he's 'the best part of my day every day' but asking him to 'plz start doing your own laundry though.'
November 13, 2020: Riddle makes her first appearance on Fritz's Instagram feed. He captions the post, 'Happy 🤗.'
June 2020: The pair start dating after meeting on Raya, which Riddle describes as 'mortifying' in a TikTok video in 2023. In the video, she suggests using the app while attending matches if they're interested in meeting single players because the app is 'location based."
'I don't know if I would recommend [Raya], but I do know that every tennis player who is single is on there,' she says.
Of course, that's something she picked up on after she started dating Frtiz. "Because it was during Covid, no restaurants were open, no bars were open so we ordered sushi," Riddle tells People. 'We went to his place and I made him watch Midsommar with me, the really messed up horror movie. Why I chose that as my first introduction to a guy, I don't really know. I think I traumatized him a little bit.'

Boxer Chavez's appeal against arrest if deported from US rejected: Mexico prosecutor

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., whose sports career is on the decline at the age of 39, is alleged to have ties to the Sinaloa cartel (Harry How) Mexico's attorney general office said a court has so far rejected requests from boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to not be arrested in the event of his deportation from the United States, where he was detained for alleged drug trafficking ties. Chavez, a former world champion and the son of legendary Mexican fighter Julio Cesar Chavez, was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles after authorities determined that he was in the country illegally. Advertisement His defense attorneys "have presented us" with "five or six injunctions" from the boxer "to have him released as soon as he arrives in Mexico," Attorney General Alejandro Gertz said at a press conference on Sunday. These injunctions were rejected because Chavez has not yet been handed over to Mexican authorities, he said. His deportation could be decided at an immigration hearing, which according to the defense team, will be held on Monday. Chavez, whose sports career is on the decline at the age of 39, is alleged to have ties to the Sinaloa cartel, one of six Mexican drug trafficking groups designated as terrorist organizations by the United States. Advertisement Following his arrest, US authorities announced Thursday that they were processing his "expedited removal" and referred to the charges against him in Mexico. The attorney general's office confirmed in a statement after his arrest last week that Mexico had issued an arrest warrant for Chavez in 2023 "for organized crime and arms trafficking." Chavez's defense team has rejected the accusations and maintained that his arrest seeks to "terrorize the community" amid raids against undocumented migrants. Chavez's arrest came days after his lopsided loss to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a cruiserweight bout before a sell-out crowd at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Advertisement Once a top-rated boxer, Chavez won the WBC middleweight world title in 2011 and successfully defended it three times. He owns a record of 54-7 with one draw, but his career has also included multiple suspensions and fines for failed drug tests. sem/das/abh/dhc

The Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks have experienced very different outcomes since the trade deadline deal that sent Luka Doncic to L.A. Advertisement The Lakers, with their new duo of Doncic and LeBron James, were able to move up to the No. 3 seed in the West. However, their season ended early in the playoffs, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the first round. The Mavericks, on the other hand, caught the injury bug following the trade. Anthony Davis was hurt in his Dallas debut, while Kyrie Irving suffered a torn ACL. But the Mavericks flipped the script when they won the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes in the 2025 NBA Draft. Amid his offseason recovery, Irving took to social media to share a personal update. His Instagram post featured photos of himself on a yacht, working out and spending time with friends and family. "All, in due time. 🤞🏾♾🪶 #A11even #CheifHela," Irving captioned his post. Advertisement A few hours after Irving published his post, Doncic took notice of the photos, sarcastically thanking Irving for inviting him on his yacht. "Thanks for the invite on the yacht😂," Doncic responded. Doncic and Irving spent one full season together with the Mavericks before the Slovenian was unexpectedly traded away in February. In fact, less than a year before the deal, the two All-Stars led Dallas to the NBA Finals. However, the Mavericks fell in five games to the Boston Celtics. Luka Doncic commented on Kyrie Irving's latest Instagram Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports Both the Lakers and Mavericks have made major moves to start the offseason as they look to contend for a championship in the 2025-26 season. Russell is expected to help fill the gap left by Irving, who continues his recovery to start next season.
