Bosiram Siram appointed as new chief of Arunachal Congress
According to a press note, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge appointed Bosiram Siram as the President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect.
'Hon'ble Congress President has appointed Shri Bosiram Siram as the President of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect. The party appreciates the contributions of the outgoing PCC President Shri Nabam Tuki,' the press note by Congress read.
Bosiram Siram is a former Congress MLA from the Pasighat East Assembly Constituency.
According to another press note by Congress, the party has appointed Manish Chatrath as the In-Charge of the Party Headquarters with immediate effect. Gurdeep Singh Sappal will continue to serve as the In-Charge of Administration in general.

Manish Chatrath has previously held the posts of AICC In-charge for Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Sharing the development on X, Chatrath wrote, 'Humbled and grateful to the Congress leadership for entrusting me with the responsibility as In-Charge of AICC Headquarters. My heartfelt thanks to Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, Shri @Kharge ji, Shri @RahulGandhi ji, Smt. @PriyankaGandhi ji and Shri @KCVenugopalMP ji for their faith in me. I shall try my best to discharge my duties to the best of my abilities.'
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge approved the proposal for the appointment of Abhay Sahu as the Chairman of the Kisan Congress, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect.
Last month, on May 31, Congress chief Kharge approved the appointment of 11 additional AICC Observers for Madhya Pradesh under the party's ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. (ANI)

INDIA bloc to meet in Delhi on July 19: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav
INDIA bloc will hold a meeting at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence in Delhi on July 19, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said on Thursday (July 17, 2025). Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut also said his party has conveyed that July 19 would suit them for the meeting. Opposition leaders are expected to deliberate key issues to be raised during the forthcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday challenged the BJP to name a Dalit as its next Prime Ministerial candidate, citing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's recent signal on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political retirement. In a post on X, he targeted BJP State President BY Vijayendra, accusing him of hypocrisy and questioning the BJP's treatment of Dalits and backward wrote, 'The RSS Sarsanghchalak, Mohan Bhagwat, has already signalled the political retirement of Narendra Modi who is now 75. This is the BJP's golden chance to make a Dalit the next Prime Minister. Let that initiative start with you. Rather than giving lectures to others, why don't you propose a Dalit leader as BJP's Prime Ministerial face? Whether it is Govind Karjol or Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, if you propose their names, I will be the first to congratulate you.'Responding to Siddaramaiah, Vijayendra countered, 'If Congress stands by Dalits, let them announce Kharge as PM candidate.' In his post, Siddaramaiah continued his attack on Vijayendra, writing, 'Mr @BYVijayendra, the BJP State President who cannot even secure the stability of the very chair he occupies, has the audacity to advise the Congress on who should be our Prime Ministerial candidate. 'If you are truly concerned about the dignity of Dalits and backward classes, why don't you relinquish your position as State BJP President and offer it to a Dalit leader? In case you are struggling to find a name, let me suggest one name, which is Govind Karjol. Though he now parrots your party's tunes, having worked with him, I can vouch that he is fundamentally a decent man. If you or your party have the courage and conviction, declare Karjol as BJP's State President and your Chief Ministerial face for Karnataka.'He added, 'And why didn't you or your father carry the basket of 'Chaddis' that was mockingly placed on Chalavadi Narayanaswamy's head by caste bigots?
