"Project Runway" is back, bringing more fashion and excitement to the runway! Season 21 sees the return of original host Heidi Klum, joined by a dynamic group of new designers, including returning alums, a drag superstar, twin brothers and more. "It's just tough love," teased Law Roach, a new judge on the season, during his interview with " Good Morning America." "Because cultivating the next generation of talent is really important to me, and it always has been. I would be doing them a disservice if I was sugar coating things. So, you know, I give it to them the way the real world gives it to you, there's no, you, know, soft parenting." Christian Siriano, season 4 winner and mentor on the show, added, "I mean this season it's really, I think they're really talented designers that I've, I mean they're making incredible things and I think what people forget is it, it really is 15 hours, sometimes 10 hours, they get no time, they create incredible things, and then we have to judge them, you know, it's a hard show." "I know what it is like and I know what it's like to be in the real world in fashion too. So you do get judged pretty harshly. I mean, there's gonna be an actress that is like, 'I hate that dress, I'm never wearing it.' So they have to hear that," Siriano said. "But it's so fun. We have the best time. Jeremy Renner Sends Clear Message About Season 2 of 'Hawkeye'
Marvel fans have been patiently waiting for Season 2 of "Hawkeye." However, the last update from Jeremy Renner wasn't exactly encouraging. Renner, who made his first appearance as Hawkeye in 2011, revealed in May that he was offered "half the money" for Season 2 of the Disney+ series. He turned down that offer and questioned if it had to do with his near-fatal accident in 2023. "This is not Marvel, mind you. This is just Disney, not even really Disney. It's just the penny pinchers, the accountants," Renner said. "I told them to go fly a kite… I mean, just at the insult offer. So we didn't see eye to eye on it." Despite turning down that offer, Renner hasn't turned his back on Marvel Studios. During a recent interview with Empire, he said that he's sure Season 2 of "Hawkeye" will end up happening. "I'm always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character," Renner told Empire. "I'm sure we'll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I'm happy to do it. My body's getting ready for something like that. I don't know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights." Renner added that he has spent a lot of time focusing on his health ever since the snowplow incident in Lake Tahoe. "Having health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that's what's gotten me back. And even as I age, I just feel stronger than I've been. I have some issues, and tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger, and I wouldn't if I didn't get crushed." With that said, Marvel fans should get to see Renner firing arrows once again at some point in the next few years. In today's dining landscape, San Diego restaurants face challenges like the rising cost of goods, labor shortages, and evolving customer expectations. Everything from longtime city institutions to newer spots unable to find their footing can succumb to a combination of obstacles, although San Diego restaurateurs and chefs remain resilient — just check out Eater's hot new restaurants map for proof. This column keeps track of all the closings you may have missed. Carlsbad—Lola 55 announced that its Carlsbad restaurant will close August 10 to its followers on Instagram. In 2019, the Mexican restaurant received Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition for its original location in East Village, which will remain open. In 2022, Lola 55 expanded with a second location in the Beacon shopping center in Carlsbad, occupying a 3,365-square-foot space, showcasing Baja-style tacos and vegetarian options, like mushroom tacos, along with a robust cocktail menu. After opening in 2010 by a local resident, Tony Smith, who died unexpectedly at the age of 57, Dolce Pane e Vino shuttered its doors. His widow, Erin Smith, continued operating the restaurant, showcasing farm-to-table Mediterranean cuisine including pastas and flatbreads; a retail wine shop also lived on site. When the lease ended on July 1, San Diego restaurateur Garo Minassian, who owns Parc Bistro and Brasserie in Banker's Hill, took over the space with plans to open a second restaurant. Oceanside—A casual café for colorful acai bowls and smoothies shut its doors on July 27, according to its Instagram. Known for their vibrant, colorful, fruity items, Northside Shack announced that construction and landlord challenges have 'buried' the business in debt. In January 2025, owner Pamela Olvera closed all three locations but eventually reopened the outposts. After a prospective buyer backed out in May, Olvera decided to 'call it quits.' Soon, the owner, Pamela Olvera, will also be closing their other two locations in Point Loma and North Park.
