The mythological action-drama, which released to decent buzz, is now picking up serious steam, raking in Rs 22 crore in just four days. The film seems to be connecting well with audiences. It has also become the highest-grossing Indian animated movie ever.
Mahavatar Narsimha may have opened on a modest note with Rs 1.35 crore on Friday, but it picked up remarkable pace over the weekend. Saturday saw a strong jump with Rs 4.6 crore, marking a 150 per cent increase, while Sunday witnessed an even bigger leap as the film earned Rs 9.5 crore, a massive 600 per cent spike from its opening day. The momentum carried into Monday, with the film collecting an impressive Rs 6.15 crore, comfortably passing the crucial Monday test. With this, the Ashwin Kumar-starrer now stands at a solid four-day total of Rs 22 crore.
Ashwin Kumar's Mahavatar Narsimha has now officially overtaken Hanuman (2005) to become the highest-grossing Indian animated film of all time.
Directed by Ashwin Kumar and backed by Hombale Films, the makers of blockbusters like Kantara and KGF, Mahavatar Narsimha is winning hearts for its gripping story and impressive visuals. The screenplay is penned by Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh. Presented in five Indian languages, Mahavatar Narsimha has been edited by Kleem Productions and produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai.
The film retells the iconic story of Prahlad Maharaj, a young devotee of Lord Vishnu, whose unwavering faith ultimately led to the manifestation of the powerful Narasimha avatar to defeat tyranny.
Mahavatar Narsimha is the first film in an ambitious animated franchise centred on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. Produced by Kleem Productions and Hombale Films, the series is expected to unfold over the next decade with titles such as Mahavatar Parshuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh (2031), Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033), and Mahavatar Kalki in two parts (2035 and 2037).
The film, produced by Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai, and Chaitanya Desai, explores the well-known story of Prahlada and his tyrannical father, Hiranyakashipu. Despite being granted near-immortality by Lord Brahma, the king's attempts to harm his devout son fail, eventually prompting Lord Vishnu to intervene in the form of his fierce fourth avatar, Narsimha.

According to India Today, the doctor, Abhinit Gupta, is a popular dermatologist in the city and runs the Poison Skin Clinic there. The case dates back to 2022, when the doctor received a call from a man who identified himself as Karan Singh and claimed he had strong connections in television production circles. Karan assured Dr Gupta that he could secure his entry into Bigg Boss through unofficial channels. The report claimed the doctor allegedly paid Karan Rs 10 lakh. However, suspicion arose when his name did not feature on the final list of contestants for that season. Upon confronting Karan, Dr Gupta was told that the entry would happen through a 'backdoor process." When this too did not materialise over time, the doctor began demanding a refund. The doctor approached the police and registered a complaint, as Karan avoided the doctor's calls and eventually switched off his phone. A First Information Report (FIR) against the doctor was registered under Section 420 of the IPC. In another case, a 34-year-old man, who allegedly cheated people on the pretext of arranging a Mudra loan after collecting money from them and had been absconding since 2021, was apprehended. The accused, who was involved in multiple fraud cases in Hyderabad, by falsely promising assistance in securing Mudra loan, collected money and documents from victims and absconded, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Commissioner's Task Force) YVS Sudheendra said in a release. The accused became acquainted with the Mudra loan process after watching videos on a social media platform related to government financial schemes, police said.
