Eid Al Adha is nearly upon us, which means the long weekend is not far. It's looking likely that we will only get four days off during Eid Al Adha if it does fall from June 5 to 8, 2025, depending on when the moon sighting will occur – but four days is a full four days, and a holiday is overdue.
Major airlines in the UAE are offering discounted rates on air fares for this Eid Al Adha long weekend. Emirates, Etihad, flydubai, Air Arabia and Wizz Air have announced huge deals and unmissable offers to make travel in this holiday season easier. Emirates is offering a 'fly now, pay down the line' scheme on selected UAE bank credit card holders, giving them a chance to pay for their ticket with zero profit credit over three monthly instalments.

Abu Dhabi's premium carrier is offering discounted prices on round-trip tickets to several destinations, including Paris, Osaka, Seoul, Seychelles, Shanghai, Malaga, Bahrain, Bengaluru, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and more, with fares as low as Dhs285. Travellers are advised to book by July 1 for a travel period until March 31 2026.

Sharjah's Air Arabia is offering deals to India, Armenia, Egypt, Oman, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and more. The airline has advised travellers to book their tickets by June 2 and fly from the UAE with fares starting from Dh129 one way. The travel period is from June 1 to September 30, and the offer is valid for seven more days, with the lowest being from Dhs129.

flydubai is gearing up to activate it's seasonal flight network with 11 added cities to choose from, two of which are brand new additions. Passengers can explore this range of holiday destinations starting June 4 into September. This complements the company's existing licence to store medical products. 'This certification marks a significant milestone in strengthening Kuehne+Nagel's healthcare and life sciences supply chain offering. It benefits customers across all stages of the production cycle in the healthcare industry,' said Leon Diradourian, GCC Cluster Managing Director at Kuehne+Nagel. Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) is the UAE's independent regulatory authority overseeing the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. As part of the licensing process, Kuehne+Nagel's appointed pharmacist, Safa Alkhayat, underwent a formal assessment and was subsequently licensed to handle raw materials in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. This individual certification formed the basis for Kuehne+Nagel's authorisation by the Ministry of Health to store pharmaceutical starting materials, including excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Kuehne+Nagel in the UAE operates a 42,000 sqm fulfilment facility, including 25,500 sqm of temperature-controlled space dedicated to healthcare products. The site features cold chambers (2–8°C) and restricted-access chambers compliant with GxP standards, encompassing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and Good Storage Practice (GSP), supported by rigorous security protocols.

Emirates sees first-class rise in premium flights to UK
Emirates airline has recorded a surge in premium bookings by visitors to the UK, which it claimed is 'driving forward economic growth' in Britain. Bookings for first-class seats on flights from China and India during the first half of the year were up 27 per cent and 17 per cent respectively, compared with the same period in 2024, the airline said. For travel from Australia, the increase in business-class bookings was 10 per cent. Emirates said regional UK airports such as Glasgow and Newcastle are also expected to announce an increasing number of Chinese visitors, with inbound passenger numbers anticipated to rise by 18 per cent and 45 per cent respectively in the second half of 2025 compared with a year earlier. All Emirates journeys on these routes involve changing planes in Dubai. The airline recently signed a declaration of intent with VisitBritain to boost inbound tourism. Emirates UK divisional vice president Jabr Al Azeeby said: 'The UK is one of the most important markets in Emirates' global network and the growth in bookings we've seen over the past year reflects that. 'We've seen a noticeable increase in inbound arrivals from key destinations such as Australia, India and China, driving forward economic growth here in the UK. Our partnership with VisitBritain underscores our commitment to grow tourism for the UK from key strategic markets.' The British government is aiming to attract 50 million international visitors a year by 2030. An estimated 41.2 million inbound visits were made last year. VisitBritain chief executive Patricia Yates said: 'Expanding airline routes and seat capacity into our regional gateways is crucial to our competitive tourism offer. 'International visitors are forecast to spend more than £34 billion in the UK this year. National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad, marks the anniversary of the founding of the UAE on December 2, 1971, when six of today's seven emirates united to form one country. Ras Al Khaimah joined in February 1972. There will be festivities held across the nation from cultural celebrations and concerts to spectacular parades and fireworks. Malls across the nation will be decked out in National Day colours and themes, with discounts on offer to mark the occasion.
