‘Free Palestine' gets biggest cheer as Fontaines DC perform penultimate slot
Near the end of the show, a massive Palestine flag was put on screen in the middle of the stage, while huge screens flanked on either side of the stage read: 'Israel is committing a genocide use your voice.'
The crowd erupted as frontman Grian Chatten dedicated their popular song Favourite to the city he was playing.
'Glasgow is home away from home,' he told the tens of thousands of fans who braved 30C weather to see them live.
'We love you. This song is for you.'
Thousands sang along to the tune in the latter half of the Irish group's set.
Fontaines DC were the penultimate performance on Saturday ahead of headliners Biffy Clyro.
But it was clear that many youngsters, many of whom wore band merch, had turned up with for the Fontaines, who are known for their songs I Love You and Starbuster.
Many at the upper ends were seen lying on the ground as the heat took its toll, with hundreds fanning themselves as the day went on.

But the crowd, who matched the energy of Fontaines DC, even far away from the stage.
It is the second day of the festival, following on from performances from 50 Cent and The Script on Friday.
The hot weather is set to continue into Sunday with temperatures around 26C expected.
Pop star Gracie Abrams will take on the second last slot ahead of the final act of the festival, Snow Patrol.

"Like superheroes, they grow up in a society that doesn't understand them, makes them the other, and often hits them. "Like superheroes, trans people just want the world to be a safer place and they believe we should protect each other and live our lives in peace. Like superheroes, evil billionaires want to get rid of trans people for no fucking reason whatsoever. 'And just like superheroes, trans people are not new. The Irish model and actress, 51, became a household name a few years ago when appearing on her partner Jeremy Clarkson's programme Clarkson's Farm. The couple initially met at a party through mutual friends before getting together in 2017. Lisa has rarely spoken about her private life since first coming into the spotlight, but she was once a sculptor and shares three children with her ex-husband, Baron Steven Bentinck, a Madrid-based private art collector. However this week she shared details of a shocking accident she found herself caught up in nearly 30 years ago. In his weekend newspaper column, Jeremy began by explaining that how between them, the couple had 'walked away from three plane crashes over the years'. A then 25-year-old Lisa had been travelling from Palma in Spain to London for a film role in the John Cleese film Fierce Creatures, the sequel to A Fish Called Wanda. At the time she was taken to Hillingdon Hospital and treated for shock and cuts and bruises, including an injury to her leg. She left the hospital later in the afternoon and was 'basically OK', according to a film company spokeswoman. The Irish Times reported that both the pilot and copilot, who suffered severe cuts, were also taken to hospital, while the van driver escaped with cuts and bruises after being cut free from the wreckage. 'It was a mess when I arrived and I think that everyone involved was extremely lucky.' Last year Lisa recalled details of the crash to the Irish Independent, saying that after the plane took off 'everything was fine for a while'. 'I insisted on sitting where I was, which was just as well because that was the area where the van came through when we crashed and I would have been killed instantly,' she said. The hotly-anticipated festival takes place at Crystal Palace Bowl in London, and has announced its lineup for 2025. The festival, known for its impressive open-air venue, will play host to the likes of dance icons Basement Jaxx, 90s pop legends S Club, and US hip hop stars Busta and Redman, amongst many other famous faces. As it all kicks off on 7th August, Scottish post-rock band Mogwai and Irish folk group Lankum will take to the stage. Then in the days that follow, a range of events will take place, including Flackstock, Skepta's Big Smoke Festival and some special performances from Morcheeba, UNKLE, and DJ Shadow. Flackstock is a family-friendly day of music and performance which celebrates the life of late Love Island anchor Caroline Flack and raises both awareness of mental health and cash for related charities. Spice Girl Mel C, popstar Pixie Lott and vocalist Alfie Boe are leading the line-up for the Flackstock's annual festival so far. Wannabe hitmaker Mel C will close the event on August 8 with a top DJ set. Yet during the day, Alfie and Pixie will take to the stage, as well as Boyzlife - who are making their Flackstock debut. S Club 7's Jo O'Meara and Jon Lee will be bringing further pop to the proceedings while Love Island alum-turned-musician Wes Nelson is also on the setlist. Caroline Flack tribute concert line-up revealed with huge acts as Flackstock charity fundraiser returns Carrie-Oke – in memory of Caroline – will feature the Neptunes Choir with Mazz Murray and Ginger Johnson bringing the good vibes, with more acts yet to be released. Elsewhere, South Facing Festival will have Busta Rhymes headline on 15 August joined by Redman and Big Daddy Kane. And the festival will come to a close with a must-see two-night performance by Basement Jaxx on 22 and 23 August. The iconic festival also provides fuel for your dancing, with a big range of street food and craft drinks.
