Alan Cumming hits out at Donald Trump over trans attacks
In his opening monologue while presenting the late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, the star asked, "America, how are you doing?" to which the crowd cheered, but he added: "No really, how are you doing?". He went on to point towards recent policies by Trump, including his administration ordering federal agencies to ban transgender workers from single-sex facilities that match their gender identity by Friday and fire any employees working on 'gender ideology". The memo sent to agencies comes as part of an executive order from Trump declaring the government will recognise only male and female sexes, which 'are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.' READ MORE: Man arrested at pro-Palestine protest for holding sign breaks silence The president is due to visit Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen and Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire during his stay in Scotland this weekend, with Cumming also referred to Trump's relationship with Israel and his aggressive actions against immigrants, telling the audience he was an "immigrant from Scotland," to which the crowd cheered. He added: "Are you scared of me? I am taking an American's job right now." Later, Cumming said that "there are superheroes who walk among us and they are called trans people". 'Just like superheroes, trans people are born with something special and magical about them, and they often have to hide what's special and magical about them from other people. "Like superheroes, they grow up in a society that doesn't understand them, makes them the other, and often hits them. "Like superheroes, trans people just want the world to be a safer place and they believe we should protect each other and live our lives in peace. Like superheroes, evil billionaires want to get rid of trans people for no fucking reason whatsoever. 'And just like superheroes, trans people are not new. They've been around forever and they're not going anywhere, no matter how much this administration tries to make you fear them.' Wake up, America! He added: "There is no evidence trans people are a threat to women. There is, however, ample evidence that the president of the United States publicly brags about barging into beauty pageant dressing rooms and grabbing women by their pussies. Wake up, America!' 'Why on earth would a rapist go to the bother of pretending to be trans in a country that actually treats rapists better than trans people?' he asked. The actor went on to highlight that reports of anti-trans hate incidents have seen a clear increase over the past year. READ MORE: US military aircraft spotted over Aberdeen ahead of Donald Trump visit 'Another surprising statistic? Our sitting president is a million percent more likely to be on the Epstein list than any trans person,' Cumming said. 'So let's not pretend that we've got our eye on the ball when it comes to sexual violence, OK, America? And how dare this president make random, unfounded accusations of sexual criminality against trans people when he was literally ordered to pay $83 million to a woman who accused him of sexual assault.' He continued: 'It's the pot calling the kettle black after trying to grab its handle in the changing room of a T.J. Maxx.'

Clarkson's Farm fans in shock after Lisa Hogan reveals 'terrifying' plane crash
Clarkson's Farm star Lisa Hogan has spoken about surviving a horror plane crash (Pictures: PA) Clarkson's Farm star Lisa Hogan has revealed she survived a plane crash. The Irish model and actress, 51, became a household name a few years ago when appearing on her partner Jeremy Clarkson's programme Clarkson's Farm. The couple initially met at a party through mutual friends before getting together in 2017. Lisa has rarely spoken about her private life since first coming into the spotlight, but she was once a sculptor and shares three children with her ex-husband, Baron Steven Bentinck, a Madrid-based private art collector. However this week she shared details of a shocking accident she found herself caught up in nearly 30 years ago. In his weekend newspaper column, Jeremy began by explaining that how between them, the couple had 'walked away from three plane crashes over the years'. The Irish model and actress has been with former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson since 2017 (Picture: Dave Benett/ Getty Images for LDV Hospitality) They have appeared on Clarkson's Farm together the past few years (Picture: Amazon/ Everett/ Rex/ Shutterstock) 'Both mine involved landing gear and were fairly minor but hers was a proper shunt,' he wrote. 'She was the only passenger in a Learjet that careered off the end of the runway at Northolt and onto the A40, where it was hit so hard by a van that it split in two. 'It's amazing no-one was killed, and if you google the images you'll see what I mean.' Sharing the article on Instagram, Lisa then shared an image of the crash and a brief description of what happened. 'Amazingly the pilots, van drivers and I survived. I took another flight the same day. And landed safely,' she wrote. Photos of Lisa's near-death experience in 1996 show the close call, with debris strewn across the road. He wrote about their near-death experiences recently (Picture: Lisa Hogan/ Instagram) Lisa was just 25 when she was involved in the crash near London (Picture: Lisa Hogan/ Instagram) Posting on Reddit, one fan wrote of the crash: 'That sounds terrifying, enough to put anyone off flying.' A then 25-year-old Lisa had been travelling from Palma in Spain to London for a film role in the John Cleese film Fierce Creatures, the sequel to A Fish Called Wanda. At the time she was taken to Hillingdon Hospital and treated for shock and cuts and bruises, including an injury to her leg. She left the hospital later in the afternoon and was 'basically OK', according to a film company spokeswoman. The Irish Times reported that both the pilot and copilot, who suffered severe cuts, were also taken to hospital, while the van driver escaped with cuts and bruises after being cut free from the wreckage. It was eventually found the pilots had struggled to understand the English air traffic control instructions (Picture: Tim Ockenden/ PA) Speaking to the publication David Early, the pilot of a hospital helicopter from nearby Beckenham Hospital, spoke about being one of the first on the scene. 'How on earth a plane that size didn't cause more damage I don't know. If it had landed six feet either way then the passenger in the plane would have been killed or even the pilots,' he said. 'It was a mess when I arrived and I think that everyone involved was extremely lucky.' Last year Lisa recalled details of the crash to the Irish Independent, saying that after the plane took off 'everything was fine for a while'. A decision to sit where she wanted – rather than moving seats as advised by the captain – also saved her life. 'I insisted on sitting where I was, which was just as well because that was the area where the van came through when we crashed and I would have been killed instantly,' she said. Lisa spoke last year about how where she chose to sit saved her life (Picture: David M. Benett/ Getty Images for Perrier-Jouet) After the crash she quickly booked another flight and returned to Majorca just a few hours later. She later told the Air Accidents Investigation Branch that the two Spanish pilots did not appear to know where RAF Northolt's airfield was and began fighting over the controls. 'We were going round and round for ages and then they started arguing. The co-pilot tried to do something, but the pilot smashed his hands off the controls and then we crashed,' she said. Lisa also said she felt their approach was too steep and that the plane was travelling too fast. Got a story?
