Help from Martin in EastEnders ‘secures the future of The Vic' in final twist

Metro18-07-2025
Martin Fowler's (James Bye) life insurance policy turns heads in EastEnders next week – when it could be used to secure The Queen Vic.
As viewers of the BBC soap have seen this week, the Slater clan decided to play a practical joke on Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), when he announced his decision to buy the famed boozer.
Pretending she'd won £100k on a scratchcard, Stacey (Lacey Turner) took great joy in seeing him squirm.
Unfortunately, the prospect of having that amount of cash in her pocket seemed out of the question. That was, until, a man from an insurance company arrived to tell her that her ex-husband Martin had left the same amount of money in his policy.
It's been five months since the fruit and veg salesman was crushed under the rubble following an explosion at the pub, and nobody had a clue of the money he'd been squiraling to one side for years.
As Stacey announced her intentions for how to distribute the cash between Martin's family, she also told cousin Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) that she would like to make an investment opportunity in The Vic.
She would have no say in the operational side of things – as old landlady Kat could step in and take over.
In upcoming scenes, Kat's relishing in the idea of getting her hands on The Vic again, but Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Ian waste no time in raining on her parade, not happy with her decision to use Martin's cash.
Meanwhile, Jean's minding Stacey's Baps when Alfie reaches out. He leaves a message, but she fails to mention it. More Trending
Later, The Slaters arrive only to find the Beales also sniffing around the sale, when Jean finally remembers to pass on Alfie's message to Stacey.
Kat returns home, beaming after a positive call from the bank – but things soon turn sour when Stacey drops a bombshell: she can't lend Kat the money after all.
Stacey confides in Jean about the situation, with mum's words of wisdom soon getting her to rethink.

In a race against time, Jean, Freddie and Mo charge to stall the auction following Stacey's change of heart and decides to back Kat after all. Meanwhile, the bidding war kicks off properly, with the Beales going head-to-head with a developer.

Spoilers reveal a dramatic week for Stacey Slater in EastEnders next week, as the character is greeted by a surprise return - but her happiness is quickly dampened It's set to be another big week in EastEnders next week, as Stacey Slater's (Lacey Turner) past comes back to haunt her - and it may be in the hands of teen Joel Marshall. ‌ Villian Joel has been causing trouble ever since entering the Square earlier this year - and it seems like his next victim may be none other than poor Stacey. ‌ It's been a hard year for Stacey, after losing her former partner Martin Fowler during the explosive 40th anniversary. Now, EastEnders are set to take it all the way back to 2023, as it's revealed her StreetCam content has been leaked online. It comes after EastEnders legend rushed to hospital after 'deadly' attack by familiar face. ‌ Next week, Stacey will be over the moon when her daughter Lily Slater makes a return to the Square after going to stay with her father Ryan, along with daughter Charli. Lily needed a break after the ordeal of Martin's death, whereas in real life it was believed actress Lillia Turner took time off to sit her GCSE's. However, Stacey's delight over her daughter's return is set to be short lived when Freddie Slater breaks the news that her SecretCam pictures have been leaked online. ‌ It was actually Freddie himself who introduced Stacey to the site two years ago after she was left struggling for money, needing to pay off her bills as well as a loan shark. It was an extremely tough time for Stacey, after subscriber, and Walford High teacher Theo Hawthorne stalked Stacey. Theo was given ten years in prison, and it looked like Stacey could finally put the whole ordeal behind her - until now. ‌ In the scenes set to air next week, Stacey is convinced teen Joel Marshall is behind the cruel act, and she wastes no time going across the road to confront him. However, she's stopped when his father Ross rushes him home. Later, Joel gives Ross his laptop to check and manages to convince his dad he is not to blame - but Stacey reports him to the police. But what will happen? It's not the first time Joel has been in trouble with authorities since making his move to Walford, as he was seen assaulting a stranger on the tube. It may be the least of Joel's worries next week however, as he's left fuming when he learns Avani has had a termination without telling him she was pregnant. Plus, he's set to feel the wrath of Ravi Gulati, and no one in Walford wants that... EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders confirms devastating new ordeal for Stacey as the police are involved

EastEnders is lining up more turmoil for Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) next week. Just weeks after finally grappling with the grief felt for late husband Martin Fowler (James Bye), a fresh new story is being lined up – and it harks back to 2023. In upcoming scenes, Stacey is thrilled to learn that daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) is making her way back to Albert Square after staying with her dad Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott). Unfortunately, the happiness is cut short when mum Jean (Gillian Wright) and cousin Freddie (Bobby Brazier) are forced to break the news that her SecretCam content has been leaked online. As viewers will recall, Freddie introduced Stacey to the OnlyFans dupe when she was looking for a way to make some quick cash. Under the username IceSKater95, she uploaded feet pictures to the site to pay off her bills and a loan shark. Her uploads became more risqué at the request of a subscriber, who she later realised was Walford High teacher Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis). He subsequently stalked Stace', attempting to rape her and was handed a 10 year stretch in prison. But who has found the content this time? Well, Stacey's convinced it's troubled teen Joel Marshall (Max Murray), who we'll see her cross paths with later this week. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Coronation Street hits back in soap pub wars as they sign up hunky Hollywood star as new landlord

Instead, in an epic battle of the soap bars, they've hit back by putting new management in place at the Rovers Return in the form of Cath Tyldesley and a very sexy new landlord. Cath's character left the ITV show seven years ago, and is making a spectacular return to the cobbles this week to make scenes that will be shown this autumn. By her side will be Aaaron who starred opposite Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury's boyfriend, Jim Hutton, in the film Bohemian Rhapsody. He also played Jamie Maguire in Channel 4's Shameless. A TV insider said: "Corrie bosses were never going to take EastEnders shrewd decision to reinstate Kat and Alfie at the Vic lying down. "So they took their time looking for the perfect actor to play her husband to Eva as she makes her return to Corrie as the new boss of the Rovers. "When Aaron walked in, and once paired with Catherine, bosses knew they had the perfect partnership to run the soap's iconic pub. "Aaron will bring his Irish charm to the pub, and the chemistry between him and Cath is electric. They are both very happy and loved-up. It's the start of an exciting new chapter in the pub's history.'
