EastEnders legend returns - and receives the short shrift over his behaviour
Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is back in EastEnders next week – and he's got quite the task on his hands. Just before Alfie left Walford, he received an important phone call from Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). In a flat, Alfie discovered that Stacey had been spending time with Kat's daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan). The Zoe we met last month was a far cry from the one we were first introduced to 20 years ago, but we're yet to really find out what led her to spiralling so badly. Alfie was summoned to Stacey's to try and sort the situation, but when Kat followed him, a spooked Zoe climbed out of the window and ran away. She was begged to return, but Zoe asserted that she'd done something 'so bad' that her family wouldn't want to speak to her. The next day, Stacey received a notification from her credit card company that a flight had been booked to Barcelona. Fearing the worst, Alfie decided to follow – telling his suspicious wife that he was actually going to stay with brother Spencer (Christopher Parker) in Australia. At the start of this month, Kat made a discovery about Alfie. She called Spencer, who admitted that Alfie wasn't with him and Kat charged towards Stacey. There, Stace' had to make an even bigger lie. She said that Alfie had suffered another cancer scare, and had gone to Spain to clear his head. More Trending Kat was distraught, but seemed to accept the explanation. She headed home, and Stacey quickly contacted Alfie to tell him that he must go along with the story to save his marriage. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? EastEnders update from Alfie changes everything as Stacey makes a choice
There's an update from EastEnders' Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) this week that puts his wife Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace) dream of buying The Vic under serious threat. Alfie has been away from the Square in recent weeks, and unbeknown to Kat, he is in Spain trying to track down her estranged daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan). Meanwhile, last week's episodes saw Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) suggest to Kat that they should buy The Vic using a surprise life insurance payout Stacey received following Martin Fowler's (James Bye) death. Plans are set in motion to make that suggestion a reality on Monday, as current owners Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) get ready to hold an auction on the boozer. As the Slaters excitedly discuss the prospect of Kat becoming the new landlady, her happiness is short-lived when Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) voice concerns that buying the pub may not be the best way of spending Martin's money. However, there is an ulterior motive behind Ian's words, as he is also planning on bidding for the Vic and is keen to see off the competition. But a call from Alfie could end up changing everything anyway, as Stacey is forced to make an agonising decision about the money. Reeling from Alfie's mysterious update, Stacey drops the bombshell on Kat that she can no longer lend her the money, leaving her devastated. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Is Zoe the reason behind Stacey's sudden change of heart, or has something else prompted it? More Trending Stacey's mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) certainly seems to think there's more to it, becoming convinced that Alfie is secretly helping out Hayley Slater (Katie Jarvis), who he shares daughter Cherry with… As the clock ticks down to the auction, Kat's dreams lie in tatters – will she find another way to secure The Vic, or is the iconic pub about to become the crown of Ian's local business empire? Help from Martin in EastEnders ‘secures the future of The Vic' in final twist
Martin Fowler's (James Bye) life insurance policy turns heads in EastEnders next week – when it could be used to secure The Queen Vic. As viewers of the BBC soap have seen this week, the Slater clan decided to play a practical joke on Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), when he announced his decision to buy the famed boozer. Pretending she'd won £100k on a scratchcard, Stacey (Lacey Turner) took great joy in seeing him squirm. Unfortunately, the prospect of having that amount of cash in her pocket seemed out of the question. That was, until, a man from an insurance company arrived to tell her that her ex-husband Martin had left the same amount of money in his policy. It's been five months since the fruit and veg salesman was crushed under the rubble following an explosion at the pub, and nobody had a clue of the money he'd been squiraling to one side for years. As Stacey announced her intentions for how to distribute the cash between Martin's family, she also told cousin Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) that she would like to make an investment opportunity in The Vic. She would have no say in the operational side of things – as old landlady Kat could step in and take over. In upcoming scenes, Kat's relishing in the idea of getting her hands on The Vic again, but Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Ian waste no time in raining on her parade, not happy with her decision to use Martin's cash. Meanwhile, Jean's minding Stacey's Baps when Alfie reaches out. He leaves a message, but she fails to mention it. More Trending Later, The Slaters arrive only to find the Beales also sniffing around the sale, when Jean finally remembers to pass on Alfie's message to Stacey. Kat returns home, beaming after a positive call from the bank – but things soon turn sour when Stacey drops a bombshell: she can't lend Kat the money after all. Stacey confides in Jean about the situation, with mum's words of wisdom soon getting her to rethink. View More » In a race against time, Jean, Freddie and Mo charge to stall the auction following Stacey's change of heart and decides to back Kat after all. Meanwhile, the bidding war kicks off properly, with the Beales going head-to-head with a developer. EastEnders battle for The Vic takes unexpected turn as Kat is left devastated
Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) receives some mortifying news amid The Queen Vic auction in EastEnders next week. The famed boozer goes until the hammer in upcoming scenes, following Linda Carter's (Kellie Bright) decision to sell-up. As viewers of the BBC soap will recall, Linda decided that she had far too many bad memories in the building, and with her business partner mum Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) separating from husband George (Colin Salmon), it was time for a fresh start. In this week's episodes we'll see Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) proudly tell his family that he's ready to expand the family business empire – and he's got designs on The Vic. The Slater clan immediately begin to worry about what that would mean for Jean's (Gillian Wright) job, given she hasn't been on the best of terms with the clan recently. Later, Stacey (Lacey Turner) produces a scratchcard worth £100k, and with her fortunes suddenly changed, she decides to put a bid in for the pub. By next Monday, the Slaters are convinced that it'll not be long before Kat moves in to take charge, but the other residents have their doubts. Both Ian and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) cast a shadow over her plans, and she's left disheartened. Of course, Ian's motive is purely for his own gain, still wanting to take charge himself. His ex-wife Cindy (Michelle Collins) is less than impressed when he announces his intentions to sell restaurant Beale's Eels. Ahead of the auction, Jean receives a call from Kat's husband Alfie (Shane Richie) – who is in Barcelona trying to track down her daughter Zoe (Michelle Ryan) – and fails to pass on a message to Stacey. What does Alfie want? As everyone gathers for the sale, Jean finally tells Stacey that Alfie has been in touch, and she drops a huge bombshell. She can no longer lend the money to Kat to buy the bar. More Trending Kat is devastated, while Jean jumps to the conclusion that Alfie is helping Hayley Slater (Katie Jarvis). After a heart to heart with her mum, Stacey reconsiders the offer of a loan. Stacey rushes back over to her family to tell her family, as Jean, Freddie (Bobby Brazier) and Mo (Laila Morse) attempt to stop a bidding war between Ian and a property developer.
