Kelly Clarkson Postpones Las Vegas Residency Hours Before Opening Night

Yahoo2 days ago
Kelly Clarkson postponed her Las Vegas residency hours before its first show Friday as the singer revealed that preparing for the shows has 'taken a toll on my voice.'
The singer and daytime talk show host was scheduled to begin her Studio Sessions residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 4th. However, hours before showtime Friday, Clarkson posted on social media that both of this weekend's opening gigs were off.

'We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans. I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening at Caesars,' Clarkson wrote.
'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.'
Clarkson is hopeful that the vocal issues are only temporary, as she's already aiming to open the residency next weekend. 'I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on,' she added.
Clarkson is no stranger to Vegas, having previously held a residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. That show ran from 2023 to 2024. The singer has not gone on a proper tour since 2019, which was in support of her 2017 album Meaning of Life.
'We're bringing the studio to the stage this time with 'Studio Sessions,'' Clarkson previously said of the residency when it was announced back in February. The residency is slated to run through August 16, with encore dates scheduled for November; it's unclear when the postponed dates will be rescheduled.

Ozzy Osbourne said he would 'die a happy man' after Black Sabbath farewell gig

Ozzy Osbourne said he would 'die a happy man' if he could express his gratitude to loyal fans ahead of his farewell show. The legendary Black Sabbath rocker, who was dubbed the Prince of Darkness, died 'surrounded by love' Tuesday at age 76. Before his death, the 'Crazy Train' hitmaker was able to take to the stage one last time for his 'Back to the Beginning' concert in in Birmingham earlier this month. 4 Ozzy Osbourne said he would 'die a happy man' if he could express his gratitude to loyal fans ahead of his farewell show. Greg Draven/X Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2023, the musician admitted that his final wish was to feel 'well enough' for one more live performance before his time was up. 'If I can't continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, 'Hi guys, thanks so much for my life,'' he told the outlet. 'That's what I'm working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I'll die a happy man.' The rocker's wish came true on July 5 when he took to the stage for the final time at his Black Sabbath farewell concert in Birmingham, England. Ozzy wowed the 42,000-person crowd at Villa Park for what turned out to be his last performance in his lifetime. The 'Iron Man' singer, who was battling Parkinson's disease, sat on stage in a black leather chair. He wore a leather overcoat and gold armband bearing his name for the special occasion. 4 The legendary Black Sabbath rocker, who was dubbed the Prince of Darkness, died 'surrounded by love' Tuesday at age 76. REUTERS The poignant gig saw the heavy metal icon perform a five-song set by himself, before he was joined by his former bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler for four of the group's songs. The 'Back to the Beginning' concert, which was hosted by Jason Momoa, also featured performances by Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon and Rival Sons. 'I don't fear dying, but I don't want to have a long, painful and miserable existence. 'I said, 'How long do you want me to f–king live for?!' At best, I've got 10 years left and when you're older, time picks up speed.' 'Me and Sharon had our 41st wedding anniversary recently, and that's just unbelievable to me,' he added.

‘The Voice' Gets Rid of One Major Thing for Season 29

'The Voice' Gets Rid of One Major Thing for Season 29 originally appeared on Parade. The Voice revealed exciting news for its 29th season today. It is returning with a new format, and the season will be labeled The Voice: Battle of Champions. As part of the new format, it will only feature three fan-favorite coaches, rather than the usual four: Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam Levine, all of whom have at least one win to their name. Buried in the release was the announcement that the semi-finals, which include the Top 9, and the finale, featuring the Top 4, will be voted on by a new voting block. The group will be comprised of super fans, including former Voice artists, who will be in the audience and also get to vote for their favorite as part of the in-studio audience voting. But bottom line, what that means is that there will be no live shows and no voting by America. Other changes to the format for the season are: 🎤 SIGN UP for our The Voice newsletter to get access to exclusive news, interviews, insider info, sneak peeks & more🎤 Blind Auditions Coaches compete against each other in the 'Triple Turn Competition' (vying for the most three-chair turns), with the winner gaining a special advantage in the next round. The difference for this season is that the teams will be comprised of only 10 artists, rather than 14, making it necessary for the coaches to be pickier in their selections. Battles The coach with the most three-chair turns automatically earns a 'Super Steal' for the Battles. This coveted prize can only be used once and trumps any other coach's attempt to steal, guaranteeing a win. Knockouts Each coach brings back two fan-favorite artists from their teams in previous seasons to compete in an 'In-Season All-Star Competition.' All-stars represent their former coaches as they battle in head-to-head sing-offs. The coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed a second finalist in the finale. For this special episode, coaches call upon original Voice coach CeeLo Green to sit in on the competition and determine the winner of each All-Star Showdown. Related: The concept of superfans voting is not new to NBC. It was employed by another competition show, America's Got Talent: The Champions. It remains to be seen how it works for The Voice. The return of Clarkson in one of the red swivel chairs is a plus. She brought a lot of joy to her seasons as a coach, which came to an end when The Kelly Clarkson Show was moved from Los Angeles to filming in New York City. Possibly because of the new format, it became workable for her to juggle her schedule to film both shows concurrently. But before all this happens in Spring 2026, Season 28 of The Voice will return this fall with coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan,Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé. The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
