Dannii Minogue set to make huge acting comeback alongside Coronation Street icon
Dannii Minogue started her career working on one of Australia's biggest soaps - and now she is teaming up with other soap legends for a brand new four part drama Dannii Minogue is set to make a triumphant return to acting - decades after walking away from her breakout soap role. The 53-year-old Australian may be known to millions for her music and TV judging career. Dannii has enjoyed chart success with smash singles including Put the Needle on It, All I Wanna Do, and I Begin to Wonder. And she won over even more fans when she served as a judge on hit series The X Factor from 2007 until 2010. More recently, Dannii has been playing cupid for boys and girls looking for love on the dating shows I Kissed A Boy and I Kissed A Girl on the BBC. But before any of these career achievements were made, Dannii enjoyed a career as an actress - breaking into the spotlight before her older sister, chart superstar Kylie Minogue, 47. Back in 1989, Dannii drew attention for playing Emma Jackson in the Aussie soap Home and Away. She landed the role after playing smaller roles on an array of TV shows - and she remained on Home and Away until 1990. Now, 35 years later, the star is to make a return to acting in a new Channel 5 drama called Imposter. She will appear in the show opposite ex-Corrie actress Kym Marsh, 49. The four part drama is already filming in Victoria, Australia, and follows a family that is torn apart by betrayal and murder. Neighbours icon Jackie Woodburne, 69, who has played Susan Kennedy since 1994, also features as the leader of the family. A source told The Sun:"Bosses have spent weeks trying to get Dannii and she finally put pen to paper just days before filming started. It's been decades since she's acted on the small screen and everyone at the channel is over the moon that she was able to make the dates work because she loved the script. "She started filming last week after meeting her fellow cast members." The Mirror has contacted representatives of Dannii and Channel 5 for comment. Imposter was announced earlier this month - with TV fans already excited by the news that Kym and Jackie would be united together on screen by the show. And the new series was announced alongside news that a string of other shows are being made; Number One Fan, Missed Call and The Family Secret, to returning shows The Hardacres and The Teacher. Deputy Chief Content Officer and Head of Scripted at Paramount UK, Sebastian Cardwell, said last week: "This new slate of scripted commissions showcases the breadth and ambition of 5's storytelling. "From brand new thrillers and character-driven mysteries to the much-anticipated return of audience favourites, we're continuing to build a rich and distinctive drama offering. "These titles reflect our commitment to delivering compelling, accessible British drama that resonates with viewers across the UK. We look forward to announcing further titles in the coming months."

'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.' 'I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on,' she added. The singer has not gone on a proper tour since 2019, which was in support of her 2017 album Meaning of Life. 'We're bringing the studio to the stage this time with 'Studio Sessions,'' Clarkson previously said of the residency when it was announced back in February. The residency is slated to run through August 16, with encore dates scheduled for November; it's unclear when the postponed dates will be rescheduled. Sheryl Crow 'reassessed' life after Lance Armstrong split and cancer diagnosis
Sheryl Crow started to "reassess" her life after her break-up from Lance Armstrong. The 63-year-old singer decided to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, from Hollywood in the wake of her split from the cyclist - who, at the time, had three children with first wife Kristin Richard and now has two other kids with spouse Anna Hanse - and diagnosis with breast cancer because the major life changes made her reconsider her priorities. She told Variety: "We all have those moments in our life where we have to pivot. "I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, and I moved here in 2007. "I think having come out of a relationship where I thought I was gonna be married and was close to the kids that were gonna be my stepkids, then got diagnosed—all three of those things made me reassess. "I just looked at it and thought, 'I want to put down roots; I want to have a family.' My sisters live here, and my family all lived within three hours, and I just decided to start phase two." The 'If It Makes You Happy' hitmaker went on to adopt son Wyatt, now 18, in 3007 and Levi, 15, in 2010. Sheryl always puts her sons first and cut short her stint on Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan's 'Outlaw Music Festival Tour' because her boys have school and "don't want to go on the road". She added: "I'm too selfish to want to miss any time with them. I feel like my 18 year old was just born, and he's gonna be leaving for college in a year." But Sheryl wants to take on more work once her sons are ready to leave home. She said: "I'll go back to work full time because I have an acute connection to joy when I'm playing.' The 'All I Wanna Do' singer is thankful she isn't just starting her career now because of the obsession with stars and their "brands". She said: 'When I think about it, it does make me sad that kids grow up now in my line of work where you hope you write a song as big as your brand, and the brand is so 24 hours a day — it's so cultivated and so ego driven that if I were coming up in today's world, I wouldn't be able to do it, because the ego is the thing that makes me so miserable. 'I already struggle with having my feelings hurt. I can't imagine what it would be like to go into it knowing I've got to build this picture of a famous, secure person but also try to be vulnerable and be an artist. "I think if you're a person like me that struggles with depression already, you're always trying to figure out how to quiet those voices. And I've sort of made peace with it.'

Sheryl Crow reveals terrifying break-in after rallying against Elon Musk's Tesla
Sheryl Crow has detailed how she was left 'afraid' after an armed man was discovered on her property. The American singer-songwriter is best known for her 90s tracks All I Wanna Do, Strong Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies. Throughout her career, she's won nine Grammy Awards and sold over 50 million albums worldwide. She's also appeared in a string of shows and movies, including 30 Rock, Cougar Town, One Tree Hill, and NCIS: New Orleans. However, she's now revealed she was recently left terrified after a man appeared at her home following criticism she made of Elon Musk. In February, the Nashville-based musician, 63, shared a video waving goodbye to her Tesla car as it was being towed away. 'My parents always said… you are who you hang out with,' she captioned the post on Instagram. 'There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla. 'Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.' The organisation she donated to was the National Public Radio, which Musk indicated he wanted to defund as part of his blitz to cut billions of dollars from the U.S. Government's budget. But a few months on she's explained how a man was so incensed by her actions he turned up at her house. Sheryl lives in Tennessee where there is widespread support for the Republican Party. 'This feels different, because when I came out against Walmart carrying guns [in a 1996 song], not everybody was armed — and certainly I didn't live in Tennessee, where everybody is armed,' she told Variety. 'So yeah, there was a moment where I actually really felt very afraid: A man got on my property, in my barn, who was armed. 'It doesn't feel safe when you're dealing with people who are so committed.' When asked by the publication if she would post the video again given the extreme response. After saying she 'can't help' but think she would, Sheryl added she felt like she was 'fighting for my kids' – sons Wyatt, 18, and Levi, 15. 'That's the way I was raised. There have been times when it hasn't really been fun, but I follow my Atticus Finch dad; I'm very similar to him if I see something that seems unfair, you know?' she explained. In the same interview Sheryl admitted she'd' struggled' living in Tennessee since moving from Los Angeles in 2003. However, she explained she called her representatives 'every day' as she said: 'We have to stand up and be vocal and fight for the future for our kids.' Musk served as the leader of Donald Trump's hugely controversial Department of Government Efficiency since the president took office for his second term in January, however the cuts in government funding have been widely slammed. More Trending Earlier this month it was also revealed the profits of Musk's company Tesla had fell by 71%, while its stock plummeted more than 40%. Musk alone has lost at least £102 billion since the beginning of 2025, according to Bloomberg. In March he held back tears telling Fox Business that running his company right now saw him facing 'great difficulty'. Got a story? Sheryl Crow's terror as armed man breaks into her remote Nashville property
Singer Sheryl Crow , 63, has told of her terror after an armed man broke into her property. The country music star sold her Tesla last year in protest at Elon Musk 's efforts to eradicate US government programs through his so-called DOGE ( Department of Government Efficiency ). At the time she shared a video outside of her home waving the car off as it left on a tow truck. She said: My parents always said… you are who you hang out with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla. 'Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.' But shortly after, the nine-time Grammy winner was terrified to discover an armed man had broken into her 10-stall barn on her remote Nashville property. The singer was left shaken up by the intruder. She said: 'There was a moment where I actually really felt very afraid: A man got on my property, in my barn, who was armed. 'It doesn't feel safe when you're dealing with people who are so committed. This feels different,' she said. 'Because when I came out against Walmart carrying guns, not everybody was armed and certainly I didn't live in Tennessee, where everybody is armed.' Crow, who has two adopted sons, says she will not be silenced. She left the Hollywood Hills in 2007 - calls her Congressional representatives Andy Ogles and Marsha Blackburn every single day for the sake of her adopted sons Wyatt, 18; and Levi, 16. 'Tennessee is a hard place for me. I mean, I struggle,' she said. 'We have to stand up and be vocal and fight for the future for our kids.' Crow - who's sold over 50 million albums worldwide - famously kicked off her career as a jingle singer before serving backing vocalist duties during the late King of Pop Michael Jackson's Bad World Tour 1987–1989. Major hits in the 1990s included All I Wanna Do, Every Day Is A Winding Road and James Bond theme Tomorrow Never Dies. The breast cancer survivor, who also survived a brain tumour, previously dated 17-time Grammy winner Eric Clapton, Oscar nominee Owen Wilson, and disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong .
