Celebrity Bake Off 'signs up iconic British girlband star as she joins A-list line-up'
The next series, set to air in 2026, will see Sugababes star Mutya Buena, 40, take part in the Channel 4 show to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer, according to The Sun.
A TV insider told the publication: 'Mutya will be seeing if she can get a handshake from Paul Hollywood when she goes into the tent.
'She doesn't consider herself much of a baker, but it's for charity and there are bound to be some.'
MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 and Mutya's representative for comment.
Mutya will be hoping to find her footing in the kitchen after her Celebrity MasterChef appearance last year, where she struggled with a cheesecake challenge.
She famously created a buttery biscuit base that was so thick you could have used it to wedge open a door.
Despite crashing out of the competition, the singer said she was proud of her progress.
She said: 'I wanted to do Celebrity MasterChef because I enjoy cooking in general and I love cooking for my family and friends.
'I wanted to learn some new things in the kitchen, some new tricks that I could bring home.'
The upcoming Stand Up To Cancer special is already shaping up to be a star-studded affair.
Hollywood actress Ambika Mod, 29, who rose to fame in This Is Going To Hurt and more recently starred in One Day, will also reportedly be stepping into the tent alongside Geordie Shore favourite Vicky Pattison, 37.
Also joining the line-up are comedian Babatunde Aleshe, 38, Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague, 26, and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant JoJo Siwa, 22.
They'll be joined by RAG 'N' Bone Man, 40, broadcaster Edith Bowman, 51, and 8 Out of 10 Cats regular Jon Richardson, 42 – all ready to be judged by Cherish Finden and Paul Hollywood in the iconic Bake Off tent.
The news of Mutya's appearance comes after Prue Leith, 85, announced she was stepping away from all Great British Bake Off specials earlier this year (L-R Paul, Prue, Noel, and Alison pictured last year)
The news of Mutya's appearance comes after Prue Leith, 85, announced earlier this year that she would be stepping away from all Great British Bake Off specials.
Her place was temporarily filled by food writer Caroline Waldegrave, 72, during the most recent celebrity series.
Prue confirmed the news on This Morning, explaining she will continue on the main show alongside Paul, 59, but will no longer appear on spin-offs.

Naga Munchetty, 50, 'plans to quit BBC Breakfast as agents approach rival stations' amid bullying row - despite hefty pay rise
Naga Munchetty is reportedly planning on quitting BBC Breakfast despite receiving a hefty £10,000 pay rise, after she was accused of bullying and hauled into a meeting over an alleged sex jibe. The BBC Breakfast presenter and 5 Live host, 50, had been spoken to by executives after she reportedly made a sex jibe during an ad break while hosting the radio show. She is believed to have used a crude slang term for a sex act and asked a colleague 'if they had ever done it'. Naga's own conduct was thrown into doubt when BBC Breakfast's editor Richard Frediani reportedly took an extended period of leave, after an internal review of bullying and misconduct allegations was opened into the show. Amid the fallout, Naga's agents has reportedly 'held talks with rival station LBC' to explore opportunities for the highly-respected journalist. A source told The Sun: 'The fallout of Richard Frediani's investigation created a stark 'him or her' narrative on Breakfast with Naga flung to the front line. 'The fact is she loves the BBC and her job but there's only so much external noise anyone is prepared to take. LBC would suit her well as the focus remains on news-led broadcasting, they take a hard line and there's far less of the fluffy nonsense involved in working at the BBC. 'Her team last week renewed historic talks with the Global radio station to see if there could be any work for her there.' A BBC Spokesperson said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.' MailOnline has contacted Naga's representatives for comment. New figures released by the BBC on Tuesday reveal the presenter was awarded a £10,000 increase in her annual salary. It now takes her pay packet to an eye-watering £355,000 - almost double that of her co-host Charlie Stayt. Charlie, 63, has remained in the £190,000 bracket as tensions between the pair are said to be 'rife'. Naga hosts BBC Breakfast on Thursdays to Saturdays with Charlie, while Jon Kay and Sally Nugent anchor the programme from the start of the week. It was previously claimed that the show's staff are feeling increasingly 'uneasy' around Frediani, with the former Head of ITV News accused of 'shaking' a female editor while working on the show. The Mail told how Naga has also been holding discussions with Sky News in an apparent bid to leave the corporation, industry sources have revealed. In a surprise move, the presenter held talks with both broadcasters in what appears to be an attempt to escape the toxic atmosphere on the programme she co-hosts three days a week with Charlie Stayt. However, sources said the talks broke down with Sky News, with some bosses at the networks unsure about Naga's 'tough ways' and deciding against continuing negotiations. One said: 'There were quite a few discussions with both Sky and LBC but then it was decided by both that they wouldn't go any further. 'She is quite sharp and it is perhaps not what they were looking for, so it all kind of fell apart. Rightly or wrongly, Naga has a reputation for being quite tough and difficult at times – they didn't like that.' BBC Breakfast bosses were reportedly forced to apologise to Geri Halliwell-Horner after a very awkward interview with Naga and Charlie. During the awkward resurfaced interview from October 2023, Naga, caught the Spice Girl off guard as she asked: 'Do you not like being interviewed?' After the segment ended, Geri, 52, allegedly said she did not want to appear on the show opposite the pair ever again. The BBC's annual report on its top earners revealed Gary Lineker and Zoe Ball have topped the BBC rich list again this year, as the corporation acknowledged 'challenges' with its workplace culture. The 64-year-old's £1.35 million salary made him the Beeb's highest-paid star over the last year, according to the BBC's annual report for 2024/25. Radio 2 host Zoe Ball is the highest-paid woman at the corporation on £519,000, despite working part-time. She left her full-time position as the station's breakfast show host in December. Her replacement Scott Mills is on £359,999.

LOVE Island shock as two Casa Amor stars have stripped off and mounted each other in the hot tub for a steamy kiss despite never speaking to each other. The reality dating show has had its raunchiest season yet this year, with multiple Islanders getting intimate. 4 4 Since the infamous Casa Amor recoupling, viewers have seen twists and turns at every corner in the villa. On Love Island, there was a tense shouting match between Meg Moore and Andrada Pop who faced off over Dejon Williams. This was while Helena Ford was left fuming when Harry Cooksley pulled his ex-girlfriend, Emma Munro for a chat. However, fans have been left pondering the future of Billykiss Azeez and Boris Vidović after they chose to couple up. But Boris previously appeared on a Slovenian reality show, where he said he "doesn't believe in finding love on TV". And some long-standing Love Island viewers took to social media as they claimed he and Billykiss has gone completely missing from the ITV2 dating show. On social media fan forum site Reddit, one user started a thread which was titled, 'No Screen Time For Non-Toxic Islanders?' The user fumed: "Am I going crazy here? This is the second episode in a row that Billykiss and Boris have had almost zero screen time for the entire episode. "Day before yesterday, they weren't even seen on screen until 47mins in and it was about a 60 second clip of them manifesting on the terrace." Boris had previously told Billykiss that he wanted to take things slow and that he wasn't one for jumping in with affection. Love Island's Billykiss reveals secret upset with Boris However, in tonight's unaired episodes, Boris confesses to Billykiss how he's really feeling about their dwindling connection. He says: "We don't have the same sparkle as it was before. "Maybe we should try to explore new connections.' Billykiss replies: 'I feel like your energy shifted and the spark was slowly dissolving, but I feel like it was because of you.' With that chapter closed, Boris quickly sets his sights on Emma, who is Harry's ex girlfriend, and invites her for a secret chat in the infamous Hideaway. Whilst on the swing, the two got to know one another better and then head to the hot tub where things get steamy. The two then get closer, with Emma sitting on Boris' lap and they share their first steamy kiss. With things heating up between the pair, could this be the start of something spicy between them? 4 4

Darth Water's iconic Star Wars lightsaber set to fetch eye-watering sum at auction
A LIGHTSABER used by Darth Vader to battle Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi could sell for up to £2.6million at auction. September's sale is thought to be the first time a verifiable lightsaber prop from the original films has been up for grabs. An old British press camera flash handle was modified to make the prop. Special effects were then added by animators. Los Angeles auction house Propstore said: "The prop photo-matches The Empire Strikes Back and screen-matches Return of the Jedi through identifiable damage on the hilt, confirming it is the main lightsaber seen in the majority of Darth Vader's on-screen shots that include his bladed lightsaber. "Genuine lightsaber props from the original trilogy are exceptionally rare. This is believed to be the only hero lightsaber prop from the original Star Wars trilogy with verifiable screen use ever to be offered at public auction, and is widely considered one of the most sought-after items in Star Wars collecting." Brandon Alinger, Propstore COO, said: "The lightsaber, or laser sword as it was initially called, was imagined by George Lucas as the perfect defensive weapon for a more sophisticated age. "Nearly fifty years after the first Star Wars film, lightsabers are a universally recognised symbol of the world's most beloved film franchise and are consistently ranked as the most iconic and memorable props of all time. "They are the 'ruby slippers' of cinema's modern era. Surviving genuine lightsaber props from the original trilogy of films are exceedingly rare, and Propstore is honoured to present this historic artefact in our September sale. "It is a grail-level piece, worthy of the finest collections in the world. This lightsaber is simply everything you want it to be-one of the most significant Star Wars artefacts ever. "One of the most significant cinema artefacts ever." Batman and Star Wars memrobilia part of film and TV auction set to fetch £10 million 4
