Heartfelt message Ozzy Osbourne gave fans at his final Black Sabbath performance

The Black Sabbath has died at the age 76 'surrounded by love', according to a statement from his family today. Tributes are continuing to pour in from some of the biggest names in music, including Gene Simmons and Elton John. Earlier this month, the frontman reunited with his bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for their last ever performance at Birmingham's Villa Park Stadium. Ozzy had spoken out about his recent health struggles after undergoing seven surgeries in the past five years. He had also been open about battling Parkinson's disease since 2003. But, during an emotional performance on July 5 in Birmingham – where his band Black Sabbath formed 56 years ago -he brought the show to a close with a powerful message. Closing the gig, Ozzy said: 'It's the last song ever. Your support has enabled us to live an amazing lifestyle, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.' Birmingham Forever,' before the sky lit up with fireworks. Throughout the performance, Ozzy repeatedly thanked the 42,000 fans who had come to watch him sing. At one point, he was even heard saying 'you have no idea how I feel', as the crowd cheered him on. Prior to the performance he was worried whether he was going to be able to stand due to his spinal operations. Billy Joel savagely slates 'half-assed' Beatles album

Billy Joel has slammed one of The Beatles most acclaimed albums (Pictures: Getty) Billy Joel has unexpectedly taken aim at The Beatles, calling one of their albums a 'collection of half-assed songs'. In 1968, five years after the release of their debut album Please Please Me, the Liverpudlian band dropped their self-titled album, which also came to become known as the White Album. The album featured 30 songs, including Blackbird, Helter Skelter and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Topping record charts in Britain and the United States, the album has since been certified 24× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and labelled by some as one of the greatest albums of all time. However nearly 60 years on, one of the band's contemporaries Billy, 76, has made it clear he is not a fan. The White Album was written when the band – which included John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – attended a Transcendental Meditation course in Rishikesh, India. The American singer said the band's 1968 The White Album was a 'collection of half-assed songs' (Picture: Angela Weiss/ AFP via Getty Images) The band's line up consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison (Picture: Jeff Hochberg/ Getty Images) Reflecting on the release Billy – best known for his 1973 song Piano Man – didn't mince his words. He suggested the Fab Four were 'too stoned' or 'didn't care anymore' when recording the string of songs. 'I hear it as a collection of half-assed songs they didn't finish writing because they were too stoned, or they didn't care anymore,' he said on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast, which was released this week. 'I think they had fragments and they put them on the album.' 'I think Paul was carrying the weight,' he said. The White Album was a critical and commercial success 'Sometimes they were more prolific and sometimes they weren't, and I hear that in some of those things.' During the recording of the album, the only Western instrument available to the band was an acoustic guitar, with the sound also scaled down and the band breaking with their tradition of incorporating several musical styles in one song. Lennon – who was killed in 1980 – once famously quipped that 'the break-up of The Beatles can be heard on that album'. The band split two years later. Meanwhile Sir Paul previously addressed criticism of the album, telling Radio Luxembourg: 'I'm not a great one for that whole, 'Y'know maybe it was too many of that'. What do you mean? It was great, it sold. It's the bloody Beatles White Album, shut up!' Before Billy slated one of The Beatle's most acclaimed releases, earlier this year Sir Paul spoke about his admiration of the singer-songwriter. Billy is best known for his 1973 hit Piano Man (Picture: Michael Putland/ Getty Images) Speaking in the Billy Joel: And So It Goes documentary, he spoke about wishing he had penned Billy's 1997 single Just the Way You Are. 'When I first heard Billy, it was like 'Oh, wait a minute. He's good. Who's this?',' he recalled. 'You know, like you do, your ears prick up. The song that really made me know that that was happening was Just the Way You Are. 'And where I get asked, 'Is there a song that you wish you'd written?'. And I always…that's the one I always say.' Inferno engulfs main stage at Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium

A huge fire has completely destroyed the main stage of a Belgian dance music festival – just a day before revellers arrived for the grand opening. Nearly three-quarters of the spectacular set piece is said to have been burned down. Around 400,000 ravers from across the globe are expected to attend the festival when it opens tomorrow. It is unclear whether the festival will go ahead. Images show huge plumes of smoke as people try to put out the blaze. No guests were inside the festival grounds when the inferno erupted but around 1,000 staff members were working at the site. Celebrity Bake Off 'signs up iconic British girlband star as she joins A-list line-up'

Celebrity Bake Off is heating up – and an iconic British girlband star is reportedly set to join a slew of A-listers in the tent. The next series, set to air in 2026, will see Sugababes star Mutya Buena, 40, take part in the Channel 4 show to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer, according to The Sun. A TV insider told the publication: 'Mutya will be seeing if she can get a handshake from Paul Hollywood when she goes into the tent. 'She doesn't consider herself much of a baker, but it's for charity and there are bound to be some.' MailOnline has contacted Channel 4 and Mutya's representative for comment. Mutya will be hoping to find her footing in the kitchen after her Celebrity MasterChef appearance last year, where she struggled with a cheesecake challenge. She famously created a buttery biscuit base that was so thick you could have used it to wedge open a door. Despite crashing out of the competition, the singer said she was proud of her progress. She said: 'I wanted to do Celebrity MasterChef because I enjoy cooking in general and I love cooking for my family and friends. 'I wanted to learn some new things in the kitchen, some new tricks that I could bring home.' The upcoming Stand Up To Cancer special is already shaping up to be a star-studded affair. Hollywood actress Ambika Mod, 29, who rose to fame in This Is Going To Hurt and more recently starred in One Day, will also reportedly be stepping into the tent alongside Geordie Shore favourite Vicky Pattison, 37. Also joining the line-up are comedian Babatunde Aleshe, 38, Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague, 26, and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant JoJo Siwa, 22. They'll be joined by RAG 'N' Bone Man, 40, broadcaster Edith Bowman, 51, and 8 Out of 10 Cats regular Jon Richardson, 42 – all ready to be judged by Cherish Finden and Paul Hollywood in the iconic Bake Off tent. The news of Mutya's appearance comes after Prue Leith, 85, announced she was stepping away from all Great British Bake Off specials earlier this year (L-R Paul, Prue, Noel, and Alison pictured last year) The news of Mutya's appearance comes after Prue Leith, 85, announced earlier this year that she would be stepping away from all Great British Bake Off specials. Her place was temporarily filled by food writer Caroline Waldegrave, 72, during the most recent celebrity series. Prue confirmed the news on This Morning, explaining she will continue on the main show alongside Paul, 59, but will no longer appear on spin-offs.
