Night of Champions 2025: Crowd booed Jade Cargill, Chanted "John Cena S*cks" and more shocking reactions
The Riyadh, Saudi Arabia edition of the Night of Champions 2025 event showcased its fair share of anticipated matches and shocking moments, but the biggest surprise was the reaction from the Saudi crowd. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Whether it was sarcastic but deafening cries of " s***ks" or the straight-up rejection of the new Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill, the live crowd was not here to mince words. Not even the biggest baby faces like Cody Rhodes were safe from booing in important moments. Even if it appeared that on paper all the matches were essentially fan service, the actual twist was the crowd, which turned out to be a wild card. Chants of 'John Cena s**ks' shake the arena Everything began fittingly enough with the 'John Cena s**ks' chant that broke out when the 16-time world champ entered for his title match against CM Punk. And while this familiar chant is performed more tongue-in-cheek by American crowds when John Cena comes out to his entrance music, the Saudi crowd made it a deafening call to arms. John Cena held his composure, but it was obvious he had lost a bit of the crowd. There were still some cheers for the veteran, but the loud majority established the tone which would run through the evening — passionate, opinionated, and no filter whatsoever. Jade Cargill's moment spoiled by boos Jade Cargill had one of her career-defining moments right there with her winning Queen of the Ring by taking down Asuka, only to be greeted by howls of boos by the crowd. The silence of the crowd lasted for much of the fight and when the referee raised her hand, boos cascaded. At various points in the contest, especially during the bout, a lot of fans seemed a little quiet, signalling that perhaps either they were not emotionally invested in the contest, or more likely, in Cargill, the character. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Jade Cargill could at least try to rally the fans with a celebratory promo post-match, but the crowd was icy. WWE commentary observed the difference in atmosphere, saying different markets react to rising stars in different ways. Cody Rhodes hears boos during Randy Orton assault And, of course, when Cody Rhodes battled Randy Orton in the King of the Ring final, there was another filmy moment. Cody started to go after Orton's back (the one they battered a few weeks back) as the heels went for the long play — and the crowd started to boo him. Fans chanted 'Let's go, Randy!' in support of Orton, who received boos. Also Read: Cody Rhodes had been positioned as the courageous competitor, but some fans were left feeling that his strategy paid off too well, as he found himself in an uncomfortable position. That said, Cody Rhodes was declared the winner of the match and won the crown. But WWE may have to reconsider the way it books its top baby faces outside of the United States based on the crowd's response. Night of Champions 2025 might be remembered less for the in-ring action than the message from the Saudi crowd: they're no longer there to passively watch—they're now the vocal part of the moment.

US shocking move: Bob Vylan's visas revoked after ‘death to the IDF' chant at UK's Glastonbury festival
The US State Department has revoked the visas of members of Bob Vylan , a British rap punk group, which led a chant at the Glastonbury festival calling for death to the Israeli military. 'The (State Department) has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants. Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,' Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said in a post on X Monday. A senior State Department official told The Daily Wire that it is 'already looking at revocation' of their visas ahead of its US tour. 'As a reminder, under the Trump Administration, the U.S. government will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists,' the senior official said. ALSO READ: 'Not everyone can marry Trump': Melania Trump visa controversy re-surfaces in shocking twist Bob Vylan's visa revoked Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said that the United States has "revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants." It comes after the band were dropped by their talent agency following their anti-IDF chant at the music festival. The group was slated to go on a US tour beginning in late October, according to a post on Instagram. Live Events The US State Department has instituted an aggressive visa restriction and revocation policy for alleged support of terrorism and anti-Semitism with US President Donald Trump's administration aggressively revoking visas, mostly of students, over anti-Israel activism. The punk rock band sparked a massive controversy by getting a crowd singing "death to the IDF" live on the BBC in the UK. The music duo from London stunned viewers of the Glastonbury Festival coverage by launching into a tirade against the war in Gaza and the actions of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The BBC has said it regrets not pulling the live stream of the "unacceptable" Glastonbury set, with Ofcom saying the broadcaster had "questions to answer". ALSO READ: 'Free America': July 4, a federal holiday in US, set to see huge protests in US cities. What's behind the rage? Before leading their audience into a chant during their set on Saturday a message their screen on stage switched to flash a message that read, "Free Palestine United Nations have called it a genocide. The BBC calls it a 'conflict.'" They then directed their fans to repeat after them, stating "Death to the IDF" and "Free Palestine." Singer Bobby Vylan concluded his chant, "From the river to the sea Palestine must be, will be, free." The performance came as a response to the BBC preventing the following act from making a controversial move on live television. Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the group's "appalling hate speech". The controversy comes after a protracted dispute over another act at Glastonbury, politically charged Belfast hip-hop group Kneecap, who sharply criticized Israel's actions in Gaza when performing in April at the Coachella festival in California. ALSO READ: Caught on camera: Disney cruise terrifying horror as child falls overboard, father's life-risking move stuns all In a Sunday Instagram post captioned 'I said what I said,' Bobby Vylan said he had received 'messages of both support and hatred' following the performance. 'Teaching our children to speak up for the change they want and need is the only way that we make this world a better place,' the post read. 'As we grow older and our fire possibly starts to dim under the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities, it is incredibly important that we inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us.' Glastonbury rebuffed pressure, including from Starmer, to remove Kneecap from the roster but the BBC did not stream Kneecap's performance. Both Kneecap and Bob Vylan, who also played Coachella, had dates scheduled for later this year in the United States. The Israeli Embassy in the UK said it was 'deeply disturbed' by what it called 'inflammatory and hateful' rhetoric at the festival. A BBC spokesperson told CNN Sunday that some of the comments made during Vylan's performance were 'deeply offensive.' The broadcaster streamed the rapper's set live but said it had no plans to make the performance available on demand through its iPlayer streaming platform. On Monday, the BBC admitted that 'with hindsight' Vylan's performance should have been pulled from air during the performance, saying that the corporation 'respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence.' 'The antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves,' it added.

Superman's Nicholas Hoult recalls his audition story on Jimmy Kimmel, Corenswet says 'a superhero is only as interesting as their villain'
Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman, appeared alongside his costar David Corenswet, who plays the titular Superman, on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show. This particular episode, however, was not hosted by Jimmy Kimmel himself, but rather his guest host, Andor star Diego Luna. The two revealed that they'd auditioned for the same role that day, but only Corenswet got the part for Clark Kent. Hoult, who'd met Corenswet right after his own audition, began to compare himself to the latter and ended the meeting believing that if Corenswet did get the Superman role, he'd deserve it. Both Nicholas Hoult and David Corenswet approve of each other's roles When speaking to Diego Luna, both Nicholas Hoult and David Corenswet stated they were happy to work with each other on Superman. Furthermore, just like Hoult believed David deserved the role of Superman, David was glad to have Nicholas Hoult play Lex Luthor, saying that it could very well be the best thing to happen to the movie as 'a superhero is only as interesting as their villain.' Nicholas Hoult is a British actor who's known for his roles in the British teen drama Skins, X Men: First Class, Warm Bodies and Mad Max: Fury Road. David Corenswet is known for his roles on Netflix's House of Cards, The Politician, and Hollywood. Superman is James Gunn's DC reboot The upcoming Superman is being helmed by James Gunn who, alongside Peter Safran, is in charge of the rebooted DC Universe. Best known for his work on the Guardians of the Galaxy films, along with 2021's The Suicide Squad, James Gunn rebooted the DC Universe after being hired by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav. Gunn's decision to start over with a clean slate was controversial among some of the established DCEU fans, who were unhappy about their ongoing franchises getting the short shrift. Nonetheless, Gunn has remained steadfast in his vision and his ambitions. While Superman is the tentpole release of the rebooted DCU's first chapter, 'Gods and Monsters', James Gunn is also working on other prominent DC projects, such as the Creature Commandos animated series, and a Supergirl film based on the comic Supergirl: Woman of tomorrow.
