Aamir Khan says he got ‘clean blackout' drunk on 60th birthday, has no memory of what happened at the party
Actor Aamir Khan celebrated his 60th birthday on March 14. In an interview on the latest episode of The Bombay Journey for Mashable India the actor has now opened up about that day, revealing that he doesn't remember anything that happened at the party that day because he got too drunk. During the interaction, Aamir said in Hindi, "My family organised a party for me on my 60th birthday. It was one of those occasions where you have a memorable day with your friends and family. But what happened was… now I don't drink much nowadays, it is almost negligible. But that day, everyone insisted that I have a drink with them because it was a special occasion and I gave in. With me, the point is that I'm not someone who restricts himself; I'm an extreme person. Because I haven't been drinking much, my body wasn't used to it. We started at around 7 pm, and by 9 pm, I knew that I was buzzing.'
He went on to add, 'This has happened to me a few times. When I woke up the next morning, I had no memory of the previous evening. There were videos and photos, and they told me that everyone said nice things about me, but I didn't remember anything. It was a blackout. I was conducting myself normally with everyone during the party, but the next day, when I woke up, I had zero memories of my 60th birthday celebration. There were pictures and videos from the day, but I had no memory at all, of how I reacted to the people when they were giving speeches. It was a clean blackout.'
Aamir is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film is a remake of the Spanish movie Campeones. It is set to release in theatres on June 20.

Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par opened to mostly positive reviews and decent box-office collections upon its release on June 20. The sports drama, directed by RS Prasanna, has struck a chord with the fans' hearts for its emotional plot and fresh narrative. As viewers continue to pour love for the movie, Aamir has opened up about the importance of supporting 'unique stories". He also emphasised the fact that filmmakers should not be restricted to only one type of genre. He stressed that they should explore more. Aamir Khan, in an interview with Pinkvilla, advocated the need to encourage unique storylines, saying, 'People love stories. All kinds of stories. If you only support action films, that's all filmmakers will make. And then you will have to watch only action movies in theatres. F1 box office collection day 2: Brad Pitt's F1 stormed theatres across the globe on July 27 and zoomed off to a massive global opening, performing way better than expected in the US and overseas. Directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski and featuring some real-life Formula One drivers, the movie has so far racked up around $39.5 million (₹328.5 crore) from 78 overseas markets in the first three days (Wednesday–Friday). This includes some paid previews held earlier in the week, according to Deadline. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Lewis Hamilton and Jerry Bruckheimer-backed F1 had a solid start in India. The film opened on Friday with an estimated Rs 5.5 crore net across all languages, among which the English version brought in the highest earnings, a Rs 5 crore haul, while Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu contributed smaller shares. On Saturday, Day 2, the film's early estimates showed a noticeable jump, landing at around Rs 8.5 crore, taking the total to Rs 14 crore net. The film performed the best in metro cities, including Chennai, which topped the list with over 62% occupancy, Hyderabad with 54%, and Bengaluru at 48%. On the other hand, the Hindi version had a lukewarm response at around 10.6%, while Tamil regions saw moderate interest at around 19%. Now, when you add the U.S. numbers, the film is racing towards a $140 million-plus (Rs 1,169 crore+) global weekend. It has already become one of the highest-grossing Apple Original Films. In Mexico, too, the film held the title of best opening day for any Apple title, and the same goes for Australia. In US, F1 opened with $25 million (approx. Rs 208 crore) across Friday, including earlier previews ($2.8M, approx. Rs 23 crore from special screenings before Thursday). The movie beat Killers of the Flower Moon, which made $23.2M (approx. Rs 193 crore) in its first weekend, making this Apple's best domestic opening as well.
