Bills Fan Favorite Faces Rumors About 'Training Wheels' Future
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin will always be remembered for his inspirational and dramatic NFL comeback, returning to the game after having suffering cardiac arrest on the field ... and eventually valiantly working his way back into the starting lineup.

But the veteran safety also wants to be recognized not as just a symbol ... but also as a difference-making starter on a Super Bowl contender.
And while he works to achieve the goal ... he might end up looking up the depth chart at the competition once we get to training camp this summer.
As our colleague Ralph Ventre points out, predicting who will do what at safety in 2025 is in question as "that position could be one of the most up-for-grabs this summer, with the Bills bringing in several players who will be vying for one open place one the depth chart.''
So here come the rumors of Hamlin losing his job.

Is that valid? Who's who back there?
Taylor Rapp is good to go at one spot. And elsewhere, it is Hamlin competing with second-year safety Cole Bishop and free agency get Darrick Forrest for the other starting job.
Writes Ventre: 'The Bills, who played much of the 2024 season with only three true safeties on the 53-man roster, made only one notable addition to the room. They signed former Washington Commanders starter Darrick Forrest, who seemingly fell out of favor with the (Washington) team that drafted him after returning from a 2023 season-ending shoulder injury.''
This is the NFL, so the guy the Bills might wish to win the job is the guy they've invested capital in ... and that would be 2024 second-round draft pick Bishop.

And what might Bills Mafia want?
Hamlin has never quite locked up a first-team job with the Bills. He jumped into the starting lineup as rookie to replace the All-Pro Micah Hyde and he starting 13 games that season before his life-and-death struggle with cardiac arrest.
But last year, Hamlin did start 14 games last season while recording the first two interceptions of his career.
'Last year I feel like I was getting the training wheels off of myself in a way,' Hamlin said. 'Just coming back from literally dying on the field to playing again in a significant role, a starting role, playing a full season again for the first time, just feeling myself out … I feel like I had a lot of success on the field.''

Valid enough. But to remain a starter? He may need even more success.

NBA executive believes one team is a threat to steal Luka Doncic from the Lakers
On Aug. 2, Luka Doncic will be eligible to sign a long-term contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. It may take him some time to actually sign one, as he is spending much of the summer representing his native Slovenia in the upcoming FIBA Eurobasket competition. There has been a bit of anxiety regarding whether Doncic will actually stay with the Lakers. He can opt out of his current contract next summer, and while they have a very good roster, they don't have a championship-caliber one and are coming off a five-game loss in the first round of the NBA playoffs. There have been reports that L.A. will be in a holding pattern for a year or two until it can go after Giannis Antetokounmpo or Nikola Jokić as soon as next summer. One NBA executive said that such a plan could very well drive Doncic to join Jokic's Denver Nuggets. Via ClutchPoints: 'The Lakers have to be careful,' a West executive told ClutchPoints. 'Luka just got his butt kicked by a team he handled easily last year, and now they're telling him to wait another year before he can really compete. 'If Denver wins it all or comes close while Rob [Pelinka] makes it clear he doesn't believe in Luka and LeBron as a combo, they could be a real threat for him this next season or two.' The Nuggets won the NBA championship just two calendar years ago, and although they have lost in the second round of the playoffs during the last two seasons, they still have a very strong roster. They're considered one of the big winners of this offseason after trading forward Michael Porter Jr. for forward Cam Johnson and adding guards Bruce Brown Jr. and Tim Hardaway Jr., as well as center Jonas Valanciunas, in free agency. Of course, Jokic remains, in the minds of most, the best basketball player on the planet, and he just became the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double this past season. Los Angeles hasn't improved as much as Denver has, but it did address its big hole at the center position by snagging center Deandre Ayton, who could thrive next to Doncic since he's a big-time lob threat. There is always the chance that it makes another move this summer, especially given the fact that it reportedly wants to improve its point-of-attack defense. Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook. Next up is offensive lineman Jeremiah Byers. Jeremiah Byers background, 2024 season Byers is an undrafted rookie who signed with the Cardinals shortly after the 2025 NFL draft. He played five college seasons, beginning at UTEP for three seasons, followed by two at Florida State. He started 30 games out of 33 played at UTEP as a right tackle. He was All-Conference USA in 2022, his final year there. He transferred to Florida State and appeared in 23 games, starting 22 at right tackle. Last season, he missed three games with a knee injury. He earned the Bobby Bowden Leadership award last year. Jeremiah Byers 2025 contract details Byars signed a standard three-year contract worth just over $3 million. He received $40,000 as a signing bonus and will make $840,000 if he makes the 53-man roster. $234,000 of his salary is guaranteed, which equals the total salary for someone on the practice squad for 18 weeks. Turki Alalshikh Cuts Ties With 2 Fighters For Being Disrespectful
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 22: He Turki Alalshikh speaks onstage at Fanatics Fest NYC 2025 at Javits ... More Center on June 22, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by) Turki Alalshikh has a few deal breakers when it comes to doing business with him and Riyadh Season. If a fighter and their team disrespects him, his country, or religion, he will cease working with them. If you need any proof, look no further than Alalshikh's current stance against Floyd Schofield Jr. and Teofimo Lopez. Alalshikh was a guest on Tha Boxing Voice's podcast on Thursday, and the boxing powerbroker made it clear he doesn't want to work with Schofield or Lopez anymore after the negativity that spewed from the fighters—or in Schofield's case, his father. Alalshikh was asked what Schofield's status was with him. "Okay. But put yourself in my shoes," Alalshikh replied. "This guy [Schofield Jr.]Schofield's publicized stint in the hospital after falling ill was mentioned, but Alalshikh didn't budge. He further detailed the severed relationship. 'If I were someone who didn't care about boxing, I would have told Shakur, 'Thank you, goodbye,'" Alalshikh said. 'Here's $50,000 for your camp.' But I brought in another fighter for Shakur on just 36 hours' notice. If Schofield was really in the hospital, okay, I believe him. But why did his father go to the media and lie about us, about how we handled everything? None of what they said was true. We have the emails, the WhatsApp messages—he thanked us. Everything. Look, this is the problem: if you treat us like regular promoters—lying, using bad language—then you're making a mistake. We are different. We respect you. You respect us. We don't do this for money. I'm not losing money if he's not on my card. Maybe other promoters tolerate behavior like that to benefit from certain fighters. Not me. I don't care. Respect me—you'll get my full support. Disrespect me—and I'll move on, and you'll be the one chasing me." In February, Schofield was scheduled to face Stevenson. However, after falling ill, he was removed from the fight and replaced by Josh Padley. Stevenson won the fight by unanimous decision, and Schofield was blasted in the media. Schofield Sr. said his son was poisoned and that led to his illness. Alalshikh took exception, and the relationship has been damaged. Schofield isn't the only one. Alalshikh was also asked about his relationship with Lopez, who just fought on a Riyadh Season show in May. 'Let me tell you something,' Alalshikh said. 'I don't want to go into exact numbers or contract details. But here's what I'll say—if you don't respect my country or my religion, you will not do business with me.' Alalshikh was also asked if he'd have anything to do with Lopez's rumored bout against Richardson Hitchins. "I will not be involved in that fight." Alalshikh is likely referring to a short video Lopez posted, in which he insulted his country and religion. Lopez has made a habit of making racist remarks, and apparently, someone with power and influence is holding him accountable. Lopez has made a habit of making racist remarks and apparently, someone with power and influence is holding him accountable. Alalshikh has turned the sport of boxing on its ear with massive financial support that has produced dream fights. He recently announced all Riyadh Season fights would be available to any DAZN subscribers for no extra charge moving forward. Because of his matchmaking and fan-friendly moves, he's able to put fighters on a bit of an island away from the fights that will pay them top dollar. Lopez and Schofield appear to be two of the biggest examples.
