Time of India6 days ago
Tata Technologies
has announced a global partnership with
Emerson
to develop cutting-edge, integrated testing and validation solutions tailored for next-generation mobility. This collaboration is designed to address the increasing complexity in electric, connected, and autonomous vehicles by combining Tata Technologies' prowess in systems engineering and platform development with Emerson's test and measurement automation capabilities.
The strategic alliance will cater to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle segments worldwide. Together, the two companies aim to reduce product development timelines and costs, enabling faster time-to-market for advanced mobility solutions.
'This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to building a software-defined future,' said Nachiket Paranjpe, President and Head of Automotive Sales at Tata Technologies.
Accelerating EV and Infotainment Validation
Highlighting the early success of the partnership, Tata Technologies and Emerson completed the development of
EV powertrain test rigs
for a European luxury OEM in just five months — a 67 per cent improvement over the conventional 15-month timeline. In another joint project, the duo created a fully automated validation setup for a premium infotainment head-up display unit, executing over 30,000 test scenarios to expedite development cycles.
'This is a powerful synergy between Emerson's test innovation and Tata Technologies' engineering scale,' said Shitendra Bhattacharya, Country Head and Director, Emerson's Test and Measurement business in India.
Pilot programmes are already underway across India, Europe and North America, with further joint solutions planned. As OEMs navigate the demands of software-defined and
connected vehicles
, this collaboration is set to offer intelligent, end-to-end testing ecosystems that keep pace with the dynamic transportation industry.

Theobroma Patisserie Built By Two Indian Sisters Sells 90% Stake To ChrysCapital

Pan-India bakery chain Theobroma Foods is set to be acquired by homegrown private equity firm ChrysCapital for ₹2,410 crore, according to a report by The Economic Times. For those unfamiliar, Theobroma is a patisserie known among food lovers for its brownies, cakes, desserts, chocolates, breads and savouries. As per the agreement signed between the parties, ChrysCapital will acquire around a 90% stake from the company's promoters and existing investor ICICI Venture. The founding family will retain around a 10% stake, the report added. Currently, ICICI Venture holds 42% of Theobroma. "Even though the Theobroma deal has been finalised at a lower valuation than what was initially proposed, it is being viewed as a precedent for the revival of high-value transactions in the dining and cafes sector," a person directly involved in the talks told ET. ChrysCapital is reportedly looking to build a quick-service restaurant (QSR) platform. Reports suggest it is also planning to acquire the popular food brand The Belgian Waffle Co. to strengthen its position in the segment. More About Theobroma Theobroma was founded by sisters Kainaz Messman Harchandrai and Tina Messman Wykes in 2004. The brand opened its first pastry store at the iconic Cusrow Baug on Colaba Causeway in Mumbai. Today, Theobroma is a pan-India patisserie chain with outlets in over 30 cities. The name Theobroma comes from the Greek words theos (god) and broma (food), meaning "food of the gods". At a time when India's baking scene was not as evolved as it is today, Kainaz and Tina Messman carved a niche among urban youth who were looking for European-style brownies and desserts that were not only delicious but also affordable.

According to railways, the new bullet train corridor will establish new standards in speed, safety, and operational reliability in India. Japan's E10 Bullet Trains For India The Japanese Shinkansen currently operates E5 trains, with E10 being the next generation model. "The newest Japanese trains will run on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed corridor," an official told ET. "In the spirit of strategic partnership between Japan and India, the Japanese government has agreed to introduce E10 Shinkansen trains in the project," an official statement said. A status report released on Monday regarding the bullet train project indicated that construction of 310 km of viaduct had been completed. Commercial services of India's first bullet train project are scheduled to begin in 2027, whilst the initial prototype is expected to commence operations in 2026. Moving Beyond Japanese Technology The Indian Railways is now also diversifying its approach to bullet train technology, moving beyond exclusive Japanese collaboration to include European and domestic partnerships. A recent contract for comprehensive signalling and telecommunication systems has been granted to European technology providers working with Indian collaborators. Simultaneously, discussions continue with Japanese firms regarding Shinkansen trainset procurement. Testing of E5 variant Shinkansen trainsets will evaluate their suitability and help determine necessary adjustments for the E10 trainsets currently under development. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Providers are furious: Internet access without a subscription!
