Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 'confirmed' to be Exynos-powered in the US

GSM Arena30-05-2025
The never-ending story of which chipset Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7 will use where continues. We've heard it would be going with the Exynos 2500 across the world, then we heard that Samsung's own chip would only be used in its home market of Korea, and now we're back to Exynos everywhere - more or less.
According to a new report, firmware files for the Galaxy Z Flip7 show it being powered by the Exynos 2500 in the US. This is significant because when Samsung does regional SoC differences, North America always gets the Snapdragon - always. But, apparently - not this time around.
Honestly, this has been a wild and incredibly confusing ride, and we still can't be sure any of these rumors are accurate. So it's best to just let Samsung announce the Flip7 in early July and officially tell us what it's doing, chipset-wise. But, all signs do point towards the long-delayed Exynos 2500 finally making its debut inside the Flip7, and thus becoming the first Samsung SoC to be used in a Samsung foldable.

With Mint and Blue Shadow, the Fold has some really pretty color options available this year, though the standard Black and Silver options are excellent too. You can also slap on the new Carbon Shield case for a very different, but still appealing, look as become available around July 25, and the Mint will only be available if you order directly from Samsung's website. Blue Shadow, which is the standout color option this year in my opinion, can be bought in stores as has genuinely made a generational leap with the Fold this year, and has truly caught up to Chinese foldables in my eyes. Theis super slim, very powerful, has an excellent camera, and is a stunner to boot with a screen that features a very minimal crease. If you go for the 1 TB variant, you also get boosted up to 16 GB of RAM, which is always welcome.

Verizon's Consumer Group CEO takes a huge step toward improving the company and the industry

Verizon Consumer Group CEO Sowmyanarayan Sampath recently sent an email to customers. In the email, Sampath tried to soothe Verizon customers by writing that the carrier is "raising the bar" and has "taken a different path.' And he added the often-heard phrase, "You're the reason we're here." He ended the email by saying, "We're building an experience that will earn your trust, every single day. If we ever fall short — I want to hear about it, so we can get better." While it all sounds like the usual fluff that an executive writes his customers to keep them from leaving, Verizon 's Consumer Group CEO included something at the end of his email that was surprising. To help Verizon customers pass along their experiences to the CEO so he can hear what is going on, Sampath included his email address so that Verizon customers could pass along to him their experiences as Verizon subscribers. Verizon Consumer Group CEO Sowmyanarayan Sampath has an opportunity to improve Verizon and fix the wireless industry. | Image credit-Verizon To let you know how rare this is, as a Verizon subscriber myself for over 20 years, there were times when I really wanted to speak to the CEO, who was Lowell McAdam at one point in time. Somehow, I figured out the email address for his office and was able to communicate with McAdam's team. So I can really appreciate what Sampath is doing. The important question is, "Will the CEO of the consumer group investigate customer complaints and actually make the necessary changes?" The Verizon executive might not get the opportunity to read all of the emails sent to him. But he has the opportunity to make Verizon subscribers feel better by at least having members of his team read these emails and respond to them. This is the sort of thing that T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert should do, but probably never will. Appearing at investor and tech conferences might be great for getting your name in print and perhaps goosing the price of the stock up. But it doesn't fix the problem that some T-Mobile subscribers might have when they notice that a rep charged them for new lines they didn't ask for, or they were charged for device insurance they didn't want. To be fair, this happens to other carriers besides T-Mobile . But if Verizon 's Sampath actually follows through on his email and eliminates customer pain points by making changes, this is going to help Verizon lower its churn rate. It also will help the firm keep more subscribers, and perhaps steal some away from its rivals. It seems to me that there used to be a carrier that eliminated customer pain points, put customers first, and this helped them become the fastest growing and most innovative wireless provider in the U.S. Do you remember who that carrier was? Yes, it was T-Mobile back in the day when it was the Un-carrier. Of course, T-Mobile had a different CEO at the time. While John Legere seemed to be as customer-friendly as a CEO could be, I don't recall Legere giving away his personal email address in an email sent to customers. Sampath has a golden opportunity to do several things now. He can turn Verizon into the consumer-friendly carrier that T-Mobile used to be. He can help improve the image of the industry which, frankly, seems to be ahead of only used car sales in the U.S. All the executive has to do is read the emails he is sent and reply with some answers that help to relieve Verizon customers' pain points and let them know that they are being heard. That will make them feel happy to be Verizon customers. A little more than a decade ago, this was the formula used by John Legere with T-Mobile . He made T-Mobile customers feel special, as though they were part of something big. That they were part of a big team. It worked until he left. Now, Sampath and Verizon have fired the first salvo in an effort to fix an industry that has been broken. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Apple insider says to expect iPhone 17 unveiling to take place during this particular week

Whether you're using an iPhone 6s Plus, an iPhone XS, an iPhone 12 Pro, or even an iPhone 16 Pro Max, you are probably looking forward to seeing what the iPhone 17 series has to offer. Yes, some of you like to hold on to your iPhone for as long as you can, and some of you, with the financial means to do so, will upgrade every year. The upcoming new iPhone series is expected to consist of the iPhone 17 , iPhone 17 Air (or whatever name Apple gives to its ultra-thin model), the iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, writing in his weekly Power On newsletter, says that he expects Apple to hold the 2025 iPhone event during the week of September 8th. He also notes that Apple typically prefers Tuesdays while avoiding Fridays. While Monday, the 8th of September, is a possibility, Gurman believes that Tuesday, the 9th, or Wednesday, the 10th, is "more likely." Friday is out, as Gurman pointed out, and Apple tends to honor the memory of September 11th by not announcing new iPhones on that date. Render of iPhone 17 Pro includes rumored new placement of Apple icon on the back. | Image credit-Majin Bu Some of the rumored changes include using the new A19 application processor (AP) on the non-Pro iPhone 17 models. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be powered by the A19 Pro AP. Both chipsets will be manufactured by TSMC using its third-generation 3nm process node (N3P). While the iPhone 17 base model will supposedly be equipped with 8GB of RAM (just enough to support Apple Intelligence), the other three iPhones are rumored to come with 12GB of RAM. The increased amount of RAM on the ultra-thin iPhone, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max should lead to improved multitasking, faster switching between apps, and the ability to keep more apps open in the background before the phone's performance is impacted. The iPhone 17 will feature a 6.3-inch display, up from the 6.1-inch screen on the iPhone 16. The iPhone 17 Air will reportedly sport a 6.7-inch screen, the iPhone 17 Pro will match the 6.3-inch display of the iPhone 17 , and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will carry a 6.9-inch screen. The rear camera array on the iPhone 17 is believed to include a 48 MP Wide camera, a 12 MP Ultra-wide camera, and a 24 MP front-facing camera. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to launch with a single 48 MP Wide camera on the back. It will be the same Wide camera used by the iPhone 16 model. The thinner body leaves less room inside the device for multiple rear cameras, and the front-facing camera will weigh in at 24 MP. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models could feature a trio of 48 MP sensors backing the Wide, Ultra-wide, and Telephoto cameras. The phones will also feature a 24 MP front-facing camera. We've seen several renders showing off new rear camera modules for the upcoming new iPhone line. At this point, it would be more surprising if Apple keeps the same square design for the camera module, found in the upper left corner of the rear panel, used since the iPhone 11 series. A recent rumor has the iPhone 17 Pro Max , for the first time in iPhone history, equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. Previous speculation said to expect the iPhone 17 to come with a battery close to 3600 mAh, and 3700 mAh for the iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 17 Air , limited by its internal space, will reportedly feature a small 2800 mAh battery capacity. When you have a second, circle the week of September 8th which is when we could see the iPhone 17 series announced officially by Apple. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!
