Vande Bharat Express: Which state has the highest number of Vande Bharat trains running? Not Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, it is..
Train journeys? Who doesn't like travelling via train? Every individual prefers a train journey when it comes to affordable travel. Indian Railways is the simplest, most convenient, and comfortable means of transport. To improve passenger riding experience, Indian Railways operates several trains, such as Vande Bharat Express, Shatabdi, Tejas, and Rajdhani. Which state leads in running the most Vande Bharat trains?
A lively and familiar scene can be observed at a railway station – sellers walking up and down the coaches carrying trays, or carts with an assortment of knick-knacks and refreshments. While walking between aisles, they add to the sound of the train with loud and rhythmic voices, 'Chai, chai!' and on the aisle, they ask passengers to sip on a hot cup of tea. Along with tea, they have biscuits, chips, peanuts, samosas, and other local food items. Did you know that the first Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off on February 15, 2019, on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route.
Since the introduction of Vande Bharat, the Indian Railway has witnessed a revolution in rail travel across the country. Interestingly, Vande Bharat trains have significantly reduced travel time between distant locations and improved city connectivity. The semi-high-speed trains were built at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. How many Vande Bharat trains currently run in this state?
According to the Indian Express report, a total of 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are rolling across the country. Meanwhile, Indian Railways will introduce many more trains in the current financial year.
According to the report, a total of 20 Vande Bharat Express trains are running in Bihar to meet the demand of various stations in the state, whereas 22 Vande Bharat Express trains are operational in Maharashtra, accommodating the needs of different stations based on regional demands. Earlier in June, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off a new Vande Bharat Express through video conferencing from Siwan, connecting Patliputra Junction in Patna to Gorakhpur Junction in Uttar Pradesh. The train offers a new, fast, safe, and convenient travel option between eastern Uttar Pradesh and northern Bihar. Vande Bharat trains operating in Bihar 20983/84 Tatanagar-Patna Vande Bharat Express

Maldives Bets On PM Modi's Visit, Katrina Kaif's Brand Face For Record Indian Tourist Influx
Last Updated: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Maldives on historic two-day trip and met President Mohamed Muizzu. Maldivian Tourism Minister Thouriq Ibrahim has hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to the Maldives as historic and called it a significant step in bilateral and people-to-people ties between the two nations. Speaking exclusively to CNN-News18, Ibrahim highlighted that this was the first state visit by a foreign leader under President Mohamed Muizzu's administration. 'We are friendly countries, and this visit is important for both India and Maldives," he said. Talking about tourism, the Minister said that India currently ranks sixth among the top source markets for Maldives. 'Last year we had around 130,000 Indian tourists. This year, we hope to welcome 200,000 tourists from India," he said, highlighting that he welcomed the one millionth tourist who was an Indian, which he described as a proud and happy moment. Aiming the further boost tourist arrivals, the Maldives is focusing on greater outreach in India, including enhanced air connectivity from Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, and Lucknow. The government of the country is also working on providing more facilities tailored to Indian tourists, he said. He also highlighted the growing role of Bollywood in promoting Maldivian tourism and noted that actor Katrina Kaif has been appointed as the official brand ambassador. 'Katrina Kaif is now chosen as a brand ambassador, and she will be starting her work very soon, next month. She will be doing her outreach work within most of the bigger cities in India, and you will see that, which will also bring in more tourists and open up the Maldives to the Indian market. But apart from that, she holds a strong influence across many people in India, and so that will definitely amplify the promotion," he said. 'We are very excited to have Bollywood engaged in our tourism," Ibrahim said, pointing out that celebrity visits, television events, and commercial collaborations have significantly contributed to tourism growth. Ibrahim outlined the existing infrastructure supporting the Maldives tourism sector, including 175 resorts, 875 guest houses, and 16 tourist hotels, amounting to 64,400 beds. He said that 150 new resorts are being added, and the Banana International Airport, with an annual capacity of 7.5 million passengers, was inaugurated to accommodate the growing demand of tourists. He also mentioned the Hanimaadhoo International Airport, the first international airport in northern Maldives, which is expected to be functional next year. 'That area is close to India and has been given priority for development with concessions offered to investors. We hope Indian investors will come forward to develop resorts there," he said. Regarding global outreach, China remains the top tourist market for Maldives, followed by Russia, the UK, Italy, Germany, and India. The government has set a target of 2.3 million tourist arrivals this year. With multiple international airports, a seaplane network, and investments in infrastructure and promotion, Maldives is banking on deeper India ties and celebrity-driven campaigns to further boost its tourism economy, he said. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Woman Travelling Solo In Train At Night Gets Unexpected Visit From 2 Cops. Here's Why
Last Updated: It was when the solo traveller sat quietly on her seat around 11 PM that two women police officers walked into her coach and asked, 'Seat 38 – Purvi?' Indian Railways have indeed come a long way. There are faster trains, smoother booking options, and cleaner coaches, and adding to these facilities has emerged something even more meaningful – a growing sense of safety and support for passengers, especially women. Beyond big upgrades like Vande Bharat trains or digital ticketing, it is the human moments like these that truly leave a lasting impression. One such moment was recently shared by Purvi Jain, a woman who was travelling alone on a late-night train from Mumbai to Surat. Her post wherein she recounted how two women police officers made her journey feel safer is now going viral among the Internet and rightly so. When Police Officers Walked Into Coach It was when the solo traveller sat quietly on her seat around 11 PM that two women police officers walked into her coach and asked, 'Seat 38 – Purvi?" Confused, she said yes. What followed was a heartfelt act of care and a small but revolutionary step to ensure women's safety. In her detailed post, the woman recalled, 'They stopped, checked whether I was comfortable, and asked if I needed any help. Then they gave me a helpline number to call if I ever feel unsafe." Purvi who had never experienced this before, despite being a frequent traveller, was pleasantly surprised. An elderly couple sitting beside her also lauded the gesture, saying that it made them feel reassured, especially with their granddaughter also travelling solo at times. Moving further, the woman also reflected on her experience of the journey, saying that it made her think about the country's progress. 'That small moment made me reflect on how much India's railways — and the country overall — have improved. From Vande Bharat trains to seamless online ticket bookings (even Tatkal, thanks to a faster verification process), travel keeps getting smoother," she noted. India's Real Progress She also acknowledged that while India still has work to do to match developed nations, steps like these prove that real change is happening. 'Moments like this — women officers ensuring solo female passengers feel secure, smooth digital ticketing, and many other small changes — show real progress is happening, even if it's one step at a time." Internet Joins In Praise Soon after the woman shared the post, the internet quickly joined in to laud the move with some of them also sharing similar experiences to thank the officers for their service. One person wrote, 'Something similar happened with my mom—they even helped her change trains." Another commented, 'We need to celebrate more stories like this. It gives hope." 'This is not a one-time thing—this is real, thoughtful progress," someone else added. Well, the post of proof that India is definitely moving in the right direction. view comments Location : Delhi, India, India First Published: July 28, 2025, 13:16 IST News viral Woman Travelling Solo In Train At Night Gets Unexpected Visit From 2 Cops.
