9th maritime exercise kicks off

ISLAMABAD:
An impressive and colourful flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan Navy Dockyard in Karachi, marking the formal inauguration of the 9th Multinational Maritime Exercise AMAN 2025.
According to the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy), the event featured the simultaneous hoisting of flags from all participating nations.
A large number of senior military representatives, observers, diplomats, and officials from the Pakistan Armed Forces attended the ceremony.
AMAN 2025 is the 9th edition of the series and is being held from 7-11 February 2025.
Around 60 countries, along with their ships, aircraft, special operations forces, and observers, are participating in the exercise. Additionally, the Pakistan Navy has introduced the inaugural AMAN Dialogue, scheduled for 9-10 February 2025, as an adjunct to the exercise.
During this dialogue, naval chiefs and senior representatives from participating countries will deliberate on maritime security challenges and explore innovative solutions to enhance security at sea.

His supreme sacrifice in the line of fire remains an enduring symbol of valour and patriotism, stated the ISPR release. The armed forces honour his timeless legacy and salute his unparalleled heroism, which continues to inspire generations of officers and soldiers. His life epitomised the core military values of duty, honour, and ultimate sacrifice, it added. On this solemn occasion, the nation pays tribute to its gallant son whose selfless act of courage became a foundational pillar of the Pakistan Armed Forces' spirit of sacrifice and martial ethos. The armed forces reaffirm their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan, drawing strength from the noble legacy of martyrs like Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider), the ISPR release concluded.

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy Investiture Ceremony 2025 was held at Bahria Auditorium, Karachi. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and conferred various military awards upon naval personnel. The recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) were Cdre Rashid Mahmood Sheikh, Cdre Tasawar Iqbal, Cdre Aamir Iqbal, Cdre Rashid Nazir, Cdre Zeeshan Shahid, Cdre Dr. Nadeem Kureshi, Cdre Dr. Tariq Mairaj Rasool Khan, Cdre Dr. Attaullah, Cdre Muhammad Umair, Cdre Shahid Wasif, Cdre Saqib Habib, Cdre Faisal Iqbal Qazi and Capt Syed Atif Hussain Bukhari PN. The recipients of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) were Capt Naveed Ahmed PN, Cdr Imran Raza PN, Cdr Babar Ibne Saleem PN, Cdr Najeeb Ullah Khan Niazi PN, Cdr Rizwan Ullah PN, Surg Cdr Mohsin Raza Khan PN, Cdr Imtiaz Muhammad PN, Cdr Muhammad Anwer PN, Lt Cdr Syed Noman Masood PN, Lt Cdr Waleed Arif and Lt Cdr Muhammad Umar PN. The recipients of Tamgha-i-Basalat (Military) were Cdr Munawar Ahmed Bhatti PN, Cdr Naeem Ahmed Khan PN, Sadam Hussain PMT-I and Zain Ali PMT-II. 31 Awards of TK (M)-I, 53 awards of TK (M)-II and 99 awards of TK (M)-III were also conferred upon MCPOs, CPOs and Sailors of Pakistan Navy. Moreover, Letters of Commendation from Chief of the Naval Staff were awarded to 60 Officers, MCPOs/CPOs/Sailors and Navy Civilians. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a rescue operation to save an injured Indian crew member aboard an oil tanker in the Arabian Sea demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian values and international maritime responsibilities. According to the military's media wing, the ISPR, the operation was launched after Liberia-flagged oil tanker MT High Leader issued a distress call requesting urgent medical assistance for its injured Indian crew member. Upon receiving the emergency alert, the Pakistan Navy's Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Centre (JMICC) promptly coordinated and initiated a swift rescue mission. Navy, PMSA save lives of seamen including 9 Indian nationals The injured individual was safely evacuated with the help of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and transported to a local hospital in Karachi for emergency medical treatment.
