
Former Rangers star names two Glasgow restaurants 'the best'
The 42-year-old, from England, shared his love for the two popular food spots on the Open Goal podcast recently.

In the podcast, hosted by Simon Ferry, the star revealed that one of his favourite places to dine was La Lanterna in Glasgow's West End.
He also said he enjoyed a cheeky visit to Eusebi's Deli, which is also located in the West End.
Defoe called both the Glasgow eateries the 'best' before saying he's been to many Italian restaurants in London.
Meanwhile, in the podcast, Defoe also revealed his love for Glasgow. He said: "I love Glasgow."
Ferry asked Defoe what he loves about the city, to which he replied: "Just everything.
"I think the people are so friendly.
"It's weird, and not just because I was a footballer and played for Rangers and get recognised, but I just think in general."
He added: "I remember saying to my mum, 'You need to come up, Glasgow is unbelievable, the people are so friendly."

After that, Defoe's family visited him in the city and 'loved it'.
Defoe played with Rangers between 2019 and 2022. During his time at the club, the former football legend made over 50 appearances.

The 22-year old plays for Premier League outfit Wolves. Capped eight times by Burkina Faso, Djiga only joined the Midlands club in January. He made the move from Red Star Belgrade in a £10m deal on a contract until 2030. According to the Express & Star, Rangers are in talks with Wolves over a straight loan deal to take Djiga to Ibrox. There isn't expected to be an option for the Gers to by him as part of the agreement. Djiga had been a regular for Serbian giants Red Star during the first half of the campaign but found opportunities relatively hard to come by after moving to Wolves. He made just six appearances across league and cup after making his big move. Only two of those were from the start, with Djiga having to wait until the final game of the season to make his first Premier League appearance from the off. Rangers sign midfielder Rothwell from Bournemouth
Midfielder Joe Rothwell has joined Rangers from Bournemouth on a three-year 30-year-old was on loan to Leeds United from the Cherries last season and previously played under Rangers head coach Russell Martin while farmed out to made 39 appearances for Leeds, 27 of them starts, as they won the Championship and has made 351 club appearances overall in his career, scoring 24 goals. Rothwell came through Manchester United's youth ranks and, after loan spells with Blackpool and Barnsley, joined Oxford moved on to Blackburn Rovers and then, in 2022, to follows fellow free agent midfielder Lyall Cameron, 22, and on-loan Bournemouth full-back Max Aarons, 25, in joining Rangers this side open their season at home to Panathanaikos in the Champions League second qualifying round first leg on 22 July. The Gers have confirmed Rothwell's arrival on a three-year contract and he'll wear the number six shirt. Rothwell has made over 200 appearances in the English Championship and played in England's top flight with the Cherries. Martin knows the 30-year-old well after bringing him to St Mary's whilst he was Southampton boss in January 2024. Rothwell played the rest of that season and was pivotal in their promotion charge towards the Premier League. And he has huge admiration for Martin, he told a More than a Match podcast: 'He'd handwritten letters and posted them under the players door before the play-off final. "I think just to thank everyone and show what they mean to him and the team. "I'd never heard a manager do that before. I think that just typified the type of guy he is. "He was all about the players, you could see last season they loved playing for him. "I think he brought the whole club together at Southampton. "Every member of staff spoke so highly of him."
