Shefali Jariwala, who had no kids, dreamed of adopting a baby girl. But something was stopping her

Time of India5 hours ago

Shefali Jariwala, remembered for her appearance in the popular music video Kaanta Laga and as a Bigg Boss 13 contestant, had once shared a deeply personal aspiration — her desire to adopt a child. Long before her rise to fame, Shefali had thought about motherhood through adoption. She revealed in multiple interviews that the idea of adoption first took root when she was just around 10 or 12 years old, and it remained with her throughout her life.
Shefali specifically wished to adopt a baby girl, believing daughters shared a unique emotional bond with their parents — a connection she cherished with her own. Her dream wasn't shaped by fame or societal expectations, but a consistent and heartfelt desire to provide love and security to a child in need.
Convincing Her Family and Partner
While Shefali had clarity about her decision, she admitted that the process required alignment with her partner, actor Parag Tyagi. In interviews, she mentioned that it was during her stint in Bigg Boss 13 that Parag began to seriously consider the idea of starting a family. Despite their evolving understanding as a couple, the journey towards adoption was far from smooth.

She also faced resistance from her family. Some members were initially unsupportive of her decision to adopt. However, Shefali believed that with time, understanding would come. For her, adoption wasn't just a means to motherhood — it was a way to give back the love and privilege life had given her.

Adoption Laws and Emotional Toll
Though committed to adoption, Shefali acknowledged in her interview with ETimes that the legal and emotional hurdles involved. She described the process as long, regulated, and emotionally draining. She said the authorities evaluate many aspects — the couple's marital stability, health conditions, and home environment. Extensive paperwork, counseling sessions, and interactions with adoptive families are also part of the procedure.
Shefali noted that many hopeful parents even lose confidence midway due to the challenges. She explained how the process could take up to four years under normal circumstances, with the pandemic further delaying it. In fact, she said the lockdown significantly disrupted their plans, affecting not just the timeline but also their emotional readiness.
Despite all difficulties, Shefali remained vocal about breaking the stigma around adoption. She said that a child doesn't need to be biologically related to be loved like one's own. To her, what mattered was giving a child a safe and nurturing home.
Her words reflected a strong belief that the child destined for her would eventually find their way into her life. While her dream remained unfulfilled at the time of her passing, Shefali Jariwala's openness about adoption brought attention to an issue often overlooked — and showed that love, not biology, defines parenthood.

'Always wanted someone who looked like a doll...' Director duo Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru recalls discovering Shefali Jariwala for Kaanta Laga

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 28 (ANI): Director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have reacted to the sudden death of Shefali Jariwala, who shot to fame with the music video "Kaanta Laga," stating that the news has left them completely "heartbroken." Shefali passed away at the age of 42. The news of her death has deeply saddened the duo, who launched her career over two decades ago. "We are completely heartbroken. We found out about it last night... It's almost like an unbelievable kind of scenario," Rao said while speaking to ANI. Sapru also shared how he discovered Shefali, recalling a moment from years ago when he and Radhika were driving on Linking Road in Bandra. "We started our journey together. Radhika and I were driving on Linking Road in Bandra, and we were passing through a forest. We saw this young girl hugging her mother while crossing on a scooter. As we were driving by, Radhika thought she was very special. So we stopped and asked her if she would come to our office. And the journey started from there," Sapru said. "We always wanted someone who looked like a doll. We gave her a ride that day and asked her to come to our office for an audition. When she came to the office, she had no experience in acting or anything. Then we told her about the character we had in mind. Radhika and I really fell in love with her. She was like a walking, talking doll for us, you know. Every day, after finishing college, she used to just do rehearsals in one room," he added. Calling her unforgettable, Sapru added, "Wo kehte hain na, jo bhagwan ke favourite hote hain, bhagwan unhe jaldi bulalete hain. She was, she is, and she always will be the Kaanta Laga girl." Shefali became a nationwide sensation with the 2002 remix Kaanta Laga. The video's success made her instantly recognizable and popular for her energetic performance. She later appeared in more remixes, including Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar. According to reports, Shefali's husband, Parag Tyagi, rushed her to Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital on Friday night, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Initial reports indicate that she died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 42. (ANI)

Spreading resources without strategy A quick way to stall progress is pouring all the valuable materials into too many characters at once. While the temptation for leveling up all-new units remains strong, scattering limited resources will leave you with the underpowered core team. So, always ensure Honkai Star Rail team composition to be strategized. Keep your focus on building two to three synergistic teams that are capable of handling diverse challenges. Concentrating upgrades on the key damage supports, dealers, and sustain units would ensure you have needed resilience and firepower for demanding endgame models like the Memory of Chaos from the start. Overlooking stellar starting crew Resist your urge to bench all the initially free characters for some shiny gacha pulls. The starter roster of Honkai: Star Rail—Dan Heng, Trailblazer, Natasha, and March 7th are surprisingly robust. Honkai Star Rail character upgrades remain tailored for early successes and offer essential roles like healing, solid damage, and shielding. The early enemies quite often share weaknesses that are aligned with elements of characters, making them effective. Natasha and March 7th particularly offer crucial cleansing and are able to sustain. It remains viable in the mid-game content, too. Investing in them will ensure you have a reliable core team while you gradually continue building others. They are far more than the placeholders. Not targeting enemies with Honkai Star Rail combat strategies Turn-based combat is not just about spamming attacks. Positioning matters, too. There are some skills, like the AoE strike of Trailblazer, that deal extra toughness damage to the primary target. To hit the enemy in the middle could break multiple foes all at once, while to attack a flanked target would just hit an extra. Trailblazer's Skill can deal equal damage to all the hit enemies, but the primary target will be suffering a greater depletion of Toughness. In the same way, Ultimate of Arlan would inflict the greatest damage on some specifically targeted enemies. So, always ensure to check the attack ranges and give priority to enemies, which can maximize the efficiency of the team. Neglecting the Light Cone power, use, and compatibility Complete Beginners Guide to Honkai: Star Rail - HSR Guide for Genshin Players Light Cones are quite powerful but do not be dazzled just by their raw stats or rarity. To equip high-rarity Light Cones can seem like a no-brainer, but the passives only get activated if the character matches the Path of the Cone. Destruction characters using the Hunt Light Cone can lose out on some crucial bonuses. Note: The 5-star Light Cone might look like an instant upgrade. If the passives, though, do not align with the role of the wielder, it's wasted. Always ensure to check Path alignment before you assign gear. Herta's Store free five-star Cones are powerful, but only when they are used correctly. In short, you must always ensure to match the Path Symbol on the Light Cone to the Path of the characters for Full power. Only then will you get maximum efficiency. Avoiding the above-said simple mistakes early on would ensure you have a smooth journey through the cosmos. Just keep your focus on Honkai Star Rail resource management, balanced teams, and smarter pulls, and you will maximize progress with ease. Endgame in Honkai: Star Rail demands strategy and not just your style to dominate the toughest battles. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.
